Smaller portions; lower quality -- Loose the new management! 5/9/2012

I’ve eaten here in the past, but tonight was such a disappointment that I felt compelled to post. First of all, the service is great – darling, hard working attentive. But. . . the portions are much smaller than before, and my biggest complaint was the deserts. Cupcake tasted at least a day old --maybe two. The hot fudge Sunday was enough to make you sick --- really not even editable! It was disgusting! I think it will be a while before I go back. Perhaps by then enough people will have complained and they will make it better. more

Great food, and the portions are large too! 5/26/2007

The food at Claim Jumper is great. Well prepared, fresh and delicious. Try the roasted artichoke for an appetizer. Steak and chicken dishes are excellent. Baked potato or sweet potato as sides. Dessert, of course, is wonderful if you save room. Split a piece of chocolate Mother Lode cake or carrot cake. What's better than great food and enough to take home for the next day. Small portions and expensive doesn't make a restaurant good. Claim Jumper's food is better than most ""fancy"" restaurants. Its a fun place, too, so enjoy! Pros: Great food and fun. Cons: Somtimes a long wait; eat in the bar if you're in a hurry. more

Well..You can stuff your fat face. 4/11/2007

I don't get why this place has such rave reviews. The portions are enormous and that is all. The food isn't spectacular. When establishments like this are praised for their 'cuisine' it is no wonder American's are fighting obesity. If this your favorite restaurant, I should never hear out of your mouth, ""I don't know why I can't lose weight."" Duh, it might be because you go to a resturant for the giant portions of food you can shovel in to your pie hole. Pros: Huge portions Cons: Huge portions more

If your in a Hurry during the Weekday, short wait and good service! 11/24/2006

I ordered a three course meal, it was overpriced but I also had two togo boxes just for me. My Boyfriend ordered the widowmaker and could not finish it, but loved it. Toffee pudding and cheesecakes are devine!\r It is casual dining in a hurry on the weeknights. Pros: Food, Menu selection, Serivce Cons: It is not a romantic spot more

Usually a long wait 7/6/2006

This place reminds me a lot of The Cheesecake Factory except that they focus on American food. The portions are HUGE (and sometimes accompanied by one single apple)! You can share most entrees on the menu!\r \r It's a fun place, usually filled with large families with lots of kids. \r \r Prepare for a short wait on the weekends, and DO NOT forget to check out the desserts! One word: MOTHERLOAD Pros: Lemon Bar Brulee Dessert! Best in the West! Cons: Long wait, Can't make reservations more

Biggest Portions In Town! 6/28/2006

This is a great restaurant with a variety of food, friendly staff, and eager stomachs. I'm able to get through lunch or dinner but you'd have to visit just for dessert as the portions are huge! I love the Club Sandwich Platter and the Tri Tip Dip. I think the only thing that concerns me is the quality control on some of their cuts of meat. Other than that you'll find me there at least once a month. They also have great Take-Out service too! Pros: Portions, Service, Quality Cons: Quality of Meat (50% of the time) more

Tons of Food 12/27/2005

Recommended this place to my cousin for his birthday and a couple buddies. I had last eaten here in Southern California 4 years ago, and I remember huge portions and at least two styrofoam contaners for about 20 of us. So I called to make reservations, and we were luckily seated ahead of many other's who waited in line. It was a 45 minute wait, but we only waited 10 minutes. The waiters and waitresses were very helpful. But the best part was the food!!! Two Ore Carts and one appetizer sampler was enough to feed the four of us. The baby back pork ribs were succulent. and the sampler potato cakes were great! Also desert ice cream and cake was in house. Pretty good. Highly recommended for lots of good food. Pros: Food, Ambience, Service Cons: Wait, Too much food, Wait more

Huge Portions 3/1/2005

Huge portions and it is actually quite good quality. Kind of noisy though. You can call ahead and have your name added to the waitlist prior to arrival, which can be a huge timesaver. Pros: good food, large portions Cons: noisy, possible long wait, crowded parking more

Def. get your $$'s worth 12/24/2003

UNLIKE Dennys, you get your moneys worth for food. I go there all the time (though i dont order much) I still come out stuffed... Food has always been great and the service exelent! Pros: Large portions, Flavorfull food, Atmosphere Cons: wait more

Long waits for expensive just ok food 5/20/2003

I've gone to place more times than I've eaten there. Constantly long wait times, I finally decided to wait it out. Luckily the pagers can receive a signal w/in the shopping center, so check out the stores while you're waiting. My first meal there might be my last, it isn't worth the wait and I can eat just as good at Denny's for less money. Unreasonably large portions don't necessarily make up for avg. taste. Pros: Large Portions, Desserts, Good for Groups Cons: Long Waits, Just Ok food more

Can U hear your arteries clogging? 10/21/2002

Well I must say that gluttony is an understatement at arestaurant like this one. Most restaurants have large portions but this restaurant has too much to do with obesity in America. Don't get me wrong the food was good but too much of a good thing will kill ya. The menu is a little over whelming but simple to understand. I don't belive I saw a 'normal' sized portion on any plate at a table for 8. But that is was this restaurant markets-- large portions =) Pros: Big portions, decor, to go boxes Cons: big portions, bar, no health insurance more

overstuffed 10/9/2002

Me and a couple guys went here last weekend. Damn that was a lot of food. Buddy 1 got the motherload sandwich, he only could eat half. the orecart with 3 kinds of ribs and chicken, was off the hook. Pork loin was delicious and huge. Dont forget the dessert...Motherload 6 layer chocolate cake downdie is the long wait, but well worth it Pros: lotsa food, viaiety of beer, wild wild west ambien Cons: long wait more
