Ciao Bella

I went to Ciao Bella a few months ago. I thought that the service was friendly but slow. The atmosphere was fun & trashy and there was great entertainment. I was hoping the food would be fantastic, I had heard that it would be. I wasn't impressed. My ravioli tasted like they were filled with sawdust and were floating in a watery flavorless mess. This used to be a GREAT PLACE to go, fun, entertaining and good food.\r It has gone down hill so badly, no more entertainment, very poor service and middle of the road food.\r I think the owner is burned out on owning a restaurant, and he just doesn't seem to care anymore.\r I have lots of good memories of this place, but I will not go back. more

There is no question, the food at Ciao Bella was excellent and the service was good. However, the evening was ruined, in my opinion, because of the totally inappripriate attire of the owner, and the sexually explicit signs and slogans on the walls. This is totally inappropriate, especially for children. If I were to describe the language used in some of the signs, it would be considered inappropriate for this site. But I will describe the picture on the front of the owner's t-shirt. It had one hand with the middle finger lifted and the other hand pointed at the viewer. His hat spelled out the same sentiment in the usual crude manner. This while up dancing with his staff with a spotlight on him. This is juvenile, inappropriate behavior for a restaurant owner and has no place in this type of establishment. When I walked in, I felt as if I had been transported back to my old room in my teen years! Get nostalgic, take it all in and have a nice little drink at the bar in front and get ready for a really good, yet unconventional meal. The food was incredibly tasty and the bread pudding....oh dear, what can I say about the bread pudding.....it is the best I have ever had and would drive over from San Francisco just to have it again.....\r The staff is cool, hip funny......and very entertaining. The service is good. A must try if you ever stumble into Ben Lomond. Pros: Great food, Fun place, cool entertainment Cons: above said, it can be a bit loud; creepy statue in the corner of the bathroom....yikes! : o more
