Best

Busy, but fun! LOVED the calamari, a little different w/ some sweet and some spice. My favorite was the bone-in ribeye. Cooked perfectly w/ just enough seasoning. Finished off ...

Worst

Went there Monday June 30 to celebrate someone elses birthday with a party of 4. reservations hade been made. Ridiculously expensive considering the quality of meat and fish serve...

Great Steak Restaurant 10/11/2009

From the menu to the single malt scotch selection this is a special restaurant! The whole restaurant has had a makeover and it looks great! Rich wood wall panels, floors and deep dark leather. Soft music adds to the ambiance, just loud enough to enjoy but not so you have to yell over. Lighting is low, but you don't need a flashlight to read the menu. Food was delicious, service top shelf, and atmosphere romantic. I think I picked the best place in town for our 30th anniversary splurge. We were watched over, but not bothered. The quality of the food was the best. Our beef was cooked to our exact requests. Thank you for a perfect evening. Do yourself a favor, dress up and go here for any special occasion. You will not regret it! Pros: Best beef in town Cons: Definitely Upscale more

Worth the hype 2/10/2009

Went here last week for my first time. I am newly arrived from Ohio and this was my first real dinner here. Most of you will know what I mean. Decor was nice. Very old school. Service was spectacular from start to finish. Here is what I will say. I have had better. Honest. I am a foodie, what can I say. The steaks were PHENOMINAL. Truly delicious and well cooked. THe mashed potatoes were not as good as they could have been. The home made salad dressing were a true highlight of the meal. I was disappointed in what I got for the price, honestly. I do NOT mind paying for a great meal, and this one was very very good, but the sides did not match the steak. The lobster was extreemly overpriced and its a shame they had no smaller portion than the 18 oz. I would definitely go back. The steaks alone are worth it. But I will also try some of the others on this list. Pros: Great service. Great steak. Cons: Bar area very loud, Limited menu choices and pricey for what you get. more

Great Steak 10/29/2008

We just had a great dinner at Del Frisco's. I took my mom and dad and we were impressed with the newly remodeled look they completed to the front entrance. As always, the steaks were FANTASTIC...plus you got try the Fried Oysters. more

smh orlando local 7/6/2008

Went there Monday June 30 to celebrate someone elses birthday with a party of 4. reservations hade been made. Ridiculously expensive considering the quality of meat and fish served, not to mention the subpar service. Definetely not as good as it has been in the past. Dont know if this is due to ownership ( no longer listed on nationwide corporate website as one of their locations) or just the quality of restaurant help in Orlando. It wasnt terrible but for the price charged we could have gone to Ruths Chris or similar for a lot less. When you pay over $500 for dinner for 4 with only one cocktail ordered and no wine you expect something really out of the ordinary and this place just doesnt have it anymore. more

Really disappointed... 7/5/2008

Visited again for the first time in several years. Not as good as in the past. No longer listed on the corporate website as a participating location. Dont know if has new owners or the quality of restaurant staff in Orlando has really plummeted. Considering the price paid (over 500 for dinner for 4 with only 1 cocktail ordered and no wine) we could have gone to another establishemnt and eaten just as well for far less. noisy, crowded, not really sparkling clean either! Now just Outback quality and poor service. Not recommended Pros: none anymore Cons: Overpriced. poor or non-existant service, bad neighborhood more

Very Bad Service 1/23/2008

Bad service ...... VERY bad service. You should not have to hand things around. You not have to wait for water. You should not have to wait for service. Appetizers should be served together. more

Bad customer service 12/22/2007

Very disappointing. The food was good but not great and the service left a great deal to be desired. Once our order was served our waitress never returned to our table until we finally summoned a bus person to get the check. We sat for 20 minutes waiting for our plates to be cleared. We would have liked more water, wine, coffee and possibly dessert but were never offered. I felt we were ignored for the entire meal. I will not return. Cons: Service more

Steaks cooked to puurrfection 11/16/2007

Not the ""best"" steak place, but certainly decent for Florida. It took awhile for the waiter to even come over to ask if we'd like anything to drink, so just think how much LONGER it took them to finally bring the drink over.. The steak was nicely cooked, just as i had ordered, the appetizers were OK, didn't impress me much. O, and it would be nice if they'd greet us when we walk in and out vs. just staring at us.. *sigh* i guess you can't expect much from FLdians. Pros: At least the steaks were cooked decent Cons: Service could be improved ALOT more

Awesome Steak 10/22/2007

The steak is so excellent! We were brought plates that finished cooking our meat to perfection! The food is high in quality and the pace is slow enough to enjoy your meal but quick enough that you don't have to wait long before enjoying more food! Not being from the area we weren't sure what to expect but our expectations were exceeded and when will return! more

One of the Best steak house in all of flordia 2/11/2007

Great if you love steak. They have any steak you can think of and all are nothing but the best cuts. All the steaks are aged to prefection. The customer service is one of the best in town. more

Del Frisco's for the steaks not the soup 6/6/2006

Take it from a meat eater, Del's has the best steak. I won't downgrade a wine bar when I don't like the the beer there. It is not a trendy spot or even a romantic place. It is what a steakhouse should be. Loud, crowded, and unruly w/ dark wood, big cabernets, large shrimp, sizzling plates w/ slabs of meat and Sinatra in the background.Miss being able to smoke a cigar. Been to the other Del's in Vegas and NY, Orlando is my favorite for the food. Found out Orlando is the only family owned. Pros: Steaks/lobter, service, wine bottle list Cons: parking , wines by the glass, very busy(wait) more

Sorely disappointed 5/29/2006

I dined with a large group of people for a special occasion. Many people in my party have been here before and had a great time. I, however was not impressed. The decor was mediocre, if that. The appetizers were good but nothing special. My salad was good. I ordered the lobster bisque as a meal and they had run out by the time every one's steak had come. Three other diners at my table received their lobster bisque as an appetizer yet, it was depleted by the time diner was served! I did share the African rock lobster with others. That too was disappointing. I've had better lobster in Kansas City. I also sat for over 20 minutes with no wine. My glass had been taken away, and replaced with an uncorked bottle sitting in front of me. Needless to say, DelFrisco's is off my list. Pros: Appetizers, Salad Cons: Service, Lobster more

Definitely One of the Better Steakhouses 5/11/2006

I've been there twice. My biggest advice; do not get put in the back room which really does feel like a different restaurant. Otherwise I have to say it's a great place across the board, my favorite thing there...the creamed corn, best on the planet. The lobster tails are obscenely expensive, but really no worse than anywhere else. I really like the place. more

3rd time-Not a Charm 11/17/2005

Our 3rd and final visit. My wife and I have been here on 3 different occasions. The building is dated and while many say that is part of the charm, it really is just run down. The service has been consistently inconsistent. On our last visit, was told we did not have a reservation(we did). Waiter was clearly more interested in the larger parties next to us as we got little attention. My steak was overcooked and my wife got the wrong order and we had to wait another 20 minutes to get the right order. No one apologized or even saw this as a problem. I've been to Del's in other cities and never had a bad experience but something is amiss at this Del's in Orlando. Was told it's a franchise so that might explain a lot. Pros: free valet parking Cons: inconsistent service, needs renovation, scary neighborhood more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Dark and cozy, lined with burgundy booths under hanging lamps, Del Frisco's could double as a fine Italian restaurant. When busy, it bustles. At the next table, you're likely to overhear proposals of all kinds, from marriage to merger. Service is unpretentious.

    The Food
High-end meat and fish. Like most steakhouses, Del Frisco's serves potatoes and vegetables a la carte, but it also offers combo plates--"lagniappe"--for instance, a 10-ounce ribeye with mashed potatoes. Homebaked desserts like mandarin orange cake have also earned the restaurant its dedicated following. Best bets are the wide selection of steaks. Also, the "Chateau" potatoes are simply mashed--but delicious--thanks to lots of butter and cracked pepper.
