Best burger in town hands down 10/7/2010

Not only do they have the best burger in town (and their hot dogs are delicious as well), but recently I needed to pick up burgers on the way home. My young son was asleep in the carseat and I didn't want to wake him. I called from the parking lot and Jason was so nice to take my order over the phone (instead of having to come inside) and he had it ready for me to go when I walked in 15 minutes later. It was so appreciated. more

Holy Huge Burgers Batman! 3/31/2010

These things are big! Home of what is probably Houston's second best burger (falling only behind Bubba's Burger shack), Christian's Totem is one of my favourite places to go on a Thursday or Friday evening. Originally intended as a bar Christian's is good at what it does, bring people together over burgers and brews. With some pretty amazing beer specials (You can get Shiner pitcher for as low as 4 bucks on certain nights), it is hard not to hit this place up with your friends every night. And everyone knows that when you have a few beers in you, there is nothing you crave more than a big juicy burger; enter Christian's ace in the hole.\r \r Christian's double burgers could probably feed a small third world country for a few weeks. My So and I usually order the double Mushroom Swiss and share, and sometimes we can't finish it. Yes, it is that big. And the only thing greater than it's size is it's flavour. God these are good. And when you consider that their biggest, most loaded up burger doesn't break the double digits you end up with Houston's favourite watering hole.\r \r Christian's is the yardstick by which all other sports bars are measured, and sadly, they all fall short. more

Really Good 12/19/2009

I got a 1/3lb burger combo with cheese and onion rings. It comes assembled on a fresh bun with leaf lettuce, sliced onions, mayo, tomato and pickle slices, and a slice of american cheese. It's cooked medium, truly medium well, but it kept all the juices and is about as good a burger as you can get by keeping it basic. The onion rings were alright. Pros: Juicy, Fresh Cons: Basic more

Good but not really special 2/2/2009

After hearing about the place for years I finally made it there. Parking is probably very difficult if you don't go off hours, even then you will pay at a meter. This place is a sports bar, which is fine, but it's a pretty funky one. The burgers and fries are ok. Nothing to write home about. Staff wasn't busy but tables were dirty and most missing either ketchup, salt, pepper, paper towels... Cons: parking more

Love the Burger's 1/22/2008

Can't say I've ever had a bad burger @ this place, kid friendly during the day, fun for the adults @ night. Pros: Great Burger's Cons: Parking is a real pain if there is a crowd. more

Wednesday Night but Every other nigh too! 12/6/2007

I?ve been coming to this place for about 1yr and 1/2 and I love this place. Great place to have all your friends to meet, watch the game, or drink. The staff is freaking awesome. It?s like walking on the T.V show Cheers...where everyone knows your name. Sometime I don?t even have to say a work and the bartender give me my usual. The burgers are still the best in Houston. DJ plays great music but needs to play more rock (Rage, Incubus, Deftones...etc.)wink wink, but in all its good music. Pros: wed. nights, HDTV's the new bigger bar Cons: more Rock music... come on steve! haha not really a Con more

Not Impressed 11/13/2006

What is the big deal about the burgers here? They are average at best and the onion rings were terrible. Service was bad and seems very unorganized. Pros: Sports on TV's Cons: Pricey bland food more

Rude owner 9/12/2006

Per my comment at the other location, the owner does not have good customer service skills. The food was average, atmosphere was good (except for dirty bathrooms), and service from server was good. However, with that said, I will never go back to any location due to the rudeness of the owner. more

Best Hole-in-the wall Burger Joint in Houston!!! 3/17/2006

This place looks like a shack when you drive up, but as soon as you get out of your car the wonderous smell of the grill reels you in!! \r This is one burger that once you pick it up, you literally can't put it down! It is not only THAT good but that BIG too!!!\r This is my favortie place for a homemade burger straight off the grill!! Pros: Fresh Meat, Great Live Music, Very Popular with Patrons! Cons: nothing more

Not a bad joint 12/2/2005

I don't know if it is the best burger in Houston, but it was good. Place is really clean and maybe had 50 tv's in there. Place has great drink specials. It is worth checking out. Pros: food, drink Cons: parking more

A 10-Napkin Burger 6/14/2005

Juicy, fresh, hot, perfect hamburgers. The best hamburger I can remember having in this town. Pros: Cheap,, Delicious, Made-to-Order Cons: Far outweighed, by the pros! more

Best burgers in town. 6/14/2005

Hands down, the best burgers in town. Burgers made as God intended: meat that's never frozen, no preservatives and never seen a cookie cutter. The chocolate shakes are an added treat, too. This is old school eating, where flavor is king and fancy commercialization is nowhere to be seen. Pros: fantastic burgers, great onion rings, top notch chocolate s Cons: miserable parking more

BEST BURGER IN HOUSTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5/27/2005

The biggest, juiciest burgers in town. I am so glad I found this place. I can't eat burgers anywhere else because I have a new burger standard called Christian's, and nothing else compares. Pros: Inexpensive, Outdoor seating, Laid back atmosphere Cons: not alot of parking more

Sounds like 'justmythoughts' has a salt problem. Salty fries? Go figure. more

yikes! SALTY! 3/12/2005

we finally got out to this place that is rumored to have great burgers- the BF had a double cheeze burger- i had the grilled chicken. we both had fries. my chicken was SO SALTY. it was as if maybe there was a salt accident in the kitchen. BF's burger...ALSO SALTY. not just a little but REALLY salty. weird. clearly no accident. the fries were REALLY salty too. it was good their soft drinks were self-serve! we ate less that half and left very very thirsty. we wont go back. more

Hamburgers 7/8/2004

Absolutely the best burger in town. Get there early. Great combination of clientele, from workmen to suits. Lady taking orders gives guff to regulars. Everyone seems to have good time. As to the menu, stay with the burgers and fries. Steam table is so so. Pros: Inexpensive, Fresh Meat, Burgers made to order Cons: , Limited Parking, Limited seating more
