As far as I am concerned, the best take on Mexican in Miami-Dade County!!! Oddly enough, I have to comment on their salsa - it is to DIE FOR! And the rest of the menu is just as great! I cannot describe the flavors, the chef infuses a Mayan flavor and creativity to every entree. This is a MUST EXPERIENCE, hidden at the end of a little strip mall off of Biscayne just south of 163rd, Cheen Huaye is definitely worth searching out for lunch or dinner. You can dine inside or out, probably only about a total of 12 tables, so avoid rush hour, though if you get their ... it is worth the wait! more

Love this place. While most of their menu is non-vegetarian, they do cater to vegetarians as well. They have 3 specific entrees, and while I cannot remember them all, I know one is 2 tostadas with refried beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce, cheese and sour cream. I personally don't eat cheese or milk products so I got it without the cheese and sour cream. It tasted very fresh. The other one is enchiladas with veggies inside (again no sour cream or cheese for me) and a side of vegetarian rice and beans. I believe the other dish is fajitas (vegetables). The restaurant is small, but quaint, and there is good service. more

Limed marinated chicken, fresh corn, black beans, cheese, tortilla strips, tomato and mixed greens tossed in home made cilantro lime peanut vinaigrette. This salad was great on the first few bites but we couldn;t get through it all the way down due to the sweetness of the peanut vinaigrette. Don't get me wrong, it was fresh and plentiful to share between two people but I would have put the brakes on the vinaigrette if I would be the chef. more

Their are many, many Mexican restaurants claiming authenticity, but here you actually taste the difference. Been coming here since it's inception, and have never been disappointed or unsatisfied with food or service.\r The style of food represents the Yucatan area with several traditional dishes as well as the more common.\r Chef / Owner Marcos creates special dishes that will tantalize the taste buds and release all those wonderful "feel good" endorphins. \r Warm & Cozy atmosphere, friendly servers, great food, moderate pricing, makes this the best neighborhood restaurant to get away from it all, ( at least until you pay the bill ;-D ). Salud! more

The Best Authentic Mexican food in Miami! 3/22/2010

I've been eating at Cheen Huaye Restaurant, for the past 4 years, sometimes at lunch sometimes at dinner, and there is not even one thing on their menu that I could say is not excelent. The Owners are always taking care of us, one is the Chef and the other owner handles a great personal custumer service, she is always on top of everything so you leave the place happy and satisfy. The Ceviche always taste exactly the same and is INCREDIBLE, fajitas are the real thing, the soups, the deserts, well I can't say enough about their food! There are not too many restaurants like this in Miami, I'll tell you that. \r Is a True gem when it comes to Mexican food.on top of it the Price is great ! Try it yourself you will see! Pros: Always Fresh,Super Cozy,Deliciuos great Price! more

A real gem. Family run restaurant in small intimate setting. Great attentive service. Regional specialties from south Mexico. Ceviche had flavor of lime, mango and cilantro dancing on tongue. We stuck to fish/vegetarian with mahi mahi tacos and enchiladas vegeterianas verdes with portabellos and subtly picante green sauce. Will definitely go back and next time with friends to share this great find. more

Best Mexican in town. Mexican husband, Brazilian wife... Amazing couple. He cooks and she serves. The food and service are simply outstanding. Very unpretentious and friendly. Try the queso fundido con chorizo. more
