Best

Always enjoy eating here. Usually have the mushroom or smoked salmon pizza, or the multi-vegetabled (asparagus, fennel etc) chopped salad at lunch. Particularly like the half-ch...

Worst

I am usually of the opinion that if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all..but this is certainly not the case with Cheebo.\r \r I hate to say but I ...

Pathetic attitude 3/22/2006

If you want to actually get the meal that you order, and pay a lot for, at Cheebo, be prepared to: a) physically grab a server to get attention and a menu b) physically grab a busboy to get attention and silverware c) send your order back 3 times to get a simple cheese substitution and dressing right on your salad. d) get practically laughed at by the manager when bringing the terrible service and lack of proper order to his attention. e) get told that you are WRONG about your salad being incorrect by the manager. The food and uberhip atmosphere are so NOT worth the struggle. The only way to enjoy the food here, which is pretty good considering, is to TAKE IT OUT. Even then, I'm not sure it's worth it. There are a lot of good restaurants in this town that actually PROVIDE service. Go there. Pros: organic food Cons: the worst service more

Just baffled! 3/4/2006

Okay, so I finally went to Cheebo today. My ""pork"" sandwich was great and we were quickly seated for a weekend at 11:30am. Here is where I get baffled: the service was just plain poor. I mean do the owners read these postings or what? Our server finally visited our table after several minutes of waiting and opened with ""what are you having to drink?"" in broken english! I'm not looking for million dollar service, but no smile, no greeting, no welcome to Cheebo. It is a bit high price wise which I can stomach when the service is good. Owners: can the grumpy staff already! Thanks! Pros: Great food! Cons: Surly Servers! more

If the food weren't so good I'd never go back! 12/16/2005

I frequently order from Cheebo during lunch hours and I cringe everytime I go to pick up my food. The pick up service is horrible - the guy who usually answers the phone to take your order and who you deal with when you pick things up is rude, rude, rude! But the food is delicious! So I keep going back. Pros: excellent lunches Cons: grumpy service more

Best Crust in Town 8/31/2005

Cheebos takes on the role of "California" Pizza by creating toppings like mushroom pesto and Sausage and Fennel. They also offer plain cheese or pepperoni, but why not be adventurous? Honestly the thing that makes their pizza stand out is theit crust. It's incredible, most places you stop eating when there's no more topping and create a rind pile three feet high on your table, not here. The crust is so good they sell it by itself on the menu, though it's covered in olive oil and rubbed with garlic. If you're one of those people who don't think pizza is a real meal and don't want to pay 17 bucks a pizza and have it only be a single serving, don't come. You get what you pay for and this is awesme. more

There's No Place Like it in Weho or Hollywood 8/4/2005

Maybe the neg reviews years back indicate there has been a major change in the line up at Cheebo recently. My wife and I have eaten here several times between 2003-2005 and the food and service have always been top shelf and friendly. Atmosphere is very cool while keeping it real, one of the few places in LA that really reminds me of my old life in Brooklyn/Williamsburg NYC. For locals, its a dream hang out. Casual, cool, no pretense, stylish, friendly, kind of like a polished version of my favorite college haunt. All organic and fresh but you would never know - the pizza especially is outstanding and the pork sandwhich. Arrival of Pizza was maybe a tad slow, but hey thats the whole brick oven thing. Their Delivery is still quite slow though. Regardless, this is A list all the way without the Hummer Bling bling crowd. Pros: pizza, service, atmosphere Cons: parking, to go takes a long ti more

a bright light in a sea of darkness 5/23/2005

at last, an honest n good restaurant. so what if the service is sporadic, at least its genuine - not an automated corporate machine. the pizza is wonderful - the crust light, crunchy but chewy inside... and no heartburn, take it from me! have not gone through the whole menu yet, but i look forward to... what i have had has been great! the staff is friendly and the room is warm and lively. alone or with friends, definitely recommended! more

Riff-raffed out of this place 3/22/2005

After hearing good things about this spot, I was really looking forward to eating there, but I was disappointed the moment I walked in for a weekend lunch. After being riff-raffed to a table at the back of the room despite it's being fairly empty by the host, our waitress was really friendly, but that did not make up for the lackluster food. My lunch was mediocre at best, and the menu seemed pretty limited... The dining area in the middle of the room seemed cramped as well. Maybe it livens up at night. more

Cheebo - isnt cheapo 3/13/2005

Had dinner ther with a firend from out of town. Food was greasy & not very good. The pasta with porcini mushrooms was especially bad. Prices were very expensive for the quality of the restaurant & atmosphere. It felt like the server was really pushing us to on the up sell items. After we told her we didnt like the pasta dish she said oh yaeh I never would have ordered that! Thanks for telling us! more

Cheesy 2/21/2005

Young, hip place serving average food at above average prices. The atmosphere is something out of a club on Sunset. They serve wine by the glass, which costs as much as a bottle of wine. The chips are a good touch at the beginning, but overall I wasn't as impressed as was led to believe. Even the pizza which everyone says is so good, didn't strike a chord with me. For an average meal Cheebo is the place to eat. more
