My friend brought me here for my birthday and I have since been coming back every 5 weeks! The people are so friendly I love Armando who does a excellent job with color, and Nicole and Charles are wonderful with their cuts and they talked me into a brazilian blowout and I love it! You guys are amazing and worth the hour drive! more

Good: nothing. Bad: I'm a regular customer who called to Book an appointment and was told by the rude receptionist that the Salon don't need my business. Apparently the receptionist is too busy taking his personal calls all the time. Contacted the management but no action was ever taken against anyone. Very disappointed with the level of customer care and service will never go back. people should learn to treat customers with respect. Improvements: receptionist being fired for rudeness. more

Please don't ever make the mistake of having Charles cut you hair. Charles is money grubbing individual who wants to get you out of the chair in under 10 minutes and is incapable of listening. I went in to get my hair fixed the next day because he refused to listen and I had left with a box shaped haired cut. I wanted him to round out the shape from the bottom and not add too many layers because it's already really short and I want to grow it out. He did not have anyone wash my hair, it wasn't even blow dried straight when I came in. He just picked up he thinning sheers and thinned out the edges. No, I no longer have box shaped hair but there are fly aways everywhere!!! If, god forbid, I stayed home and just let my hair air dry, it would be a sight to see. This is not the first time he has done this to me. This place is the worst on Earth. I actually give it 0 stars. Wow, you will never believe. I couldn't forget about my hair because it is so horrendous. I called Charles to explain what is wrong with my hair. Believe me, I did not call yelling or anything close to how I felt. I just explained how poor the service was and how terrible my hair looks. He actually had the nerve to hang up on me! I mean the owner of the salon would actually hang up. That is totally insane. I see that he is wealthy and doesnt care about one customer but I mean, really he is just a terrible human being. You really had to hear the phone conversation to get a real sense of what I am talking about. I hope you don't ever have to experience this. more

I happened to find an old receipt from Ifergan's Salon which I visited approximately 13 years ago. I also was given a tour of the salon and was introduced to Mr. Ifergan who looked at my hair and decided to cut and style it himself. My husband, children and co-workers couldn't stop telling me how great I looked. I can't tell you what it did for my ego. Needless to say I havent' treated myself in a veeeery long time. You know how it goes, you take care of the kids, husband, house and etc. When I found the receipt I immediately looked in the yellow pages to find the phone number. I am going to ask my husband or daughters to give to a ride to the City. ( Don't like driving in all that traffic) and I am also going to try to convince my teenage son who's friends decided to color his hair (orange/rust) . Can't wait for the new look. I don't know why I waited so long. If you're feeling down and need a lift - this is the best place to go. more

Charles Ifergan has to be one of the most high end- yet affordable salons in Chicago. On par with Mario Tricoci and Vidal Sassoon, its work is amazing. But they offer tons of discounts and coupon specials. For my birthday, they sent $25 haircut coupons which were just very thoughtful. Their staff is amazing and their products are very nice. Its great place to go to prom or just to get pampered. It is a little hidden upstairs between 2 boutiques but once you find it, its great. more

After I checked in, an assistant/hostess walked me over to Charles Ifergan and introduced us--I was impressed and instantly at home. The prices are high (this is the Gold Coast) but not extreme. The prices also equal really great services. Here, they do everything possible to give you the best hair cut. This is also the best place to have a bikini/brazilian wax. They don't use hard wax; rather, they use wax with muslin cloth strips, which takes a little bit longer but removes more hair. Think less plucking. more
