I had a gorgeous haircut that I had gotten at a very fine salon in New York. 2 months later I needed a hair trim. I requested a senior hairstylist who could work with curly hair. She was shown closeup pictures of the original haircut from front, back, and both sides, and asked to follow the lines of the original haircut. She was also told that I specifically did not want many layers, because my very curly hair would frizz if she did that. I ended up with a misshapen hairstyle, so much layering I couldn't see straight, and my beautiful, elegant original hairstyle completely butchered.
On top of that, the stylist was so lost, that she piled on hair product after hair product while blowdrying, until eventually my ridiculously styled hair was gunky, flat and sticking out funny. I rushed home to wash my hair, just to keep from looking goulish.
After calling and comp-lainging to the manager, I was offered a free hairstyling to correct the mistakes, but my hair had been so completely chopped up that the new stylist and I both agreed that we would have to wait at least 2 months before he could even attempt to correct the problem.
The manager expressed surprise when I told her my haircut was so bad and told me that she herself would have recommended that particular stylist. Knowing that the manager would recommend someone so inept made me uneasy. However, I must say that the second stylist was genuine and straightforward and seemed to understand what had gone wrong.
IT will be 6-8 months for my hair to grow enough so that I can have the original hairstyle I loved, because the stylist cut the whole thing up so bad.
