I am so sick and tired of utility companies holding customers hostage! I needed a live human being that can speak fluent and clear English to help me with an issue on my account....

Monopolostic Fascist Pigs 2/17/2010

I t is difficult to get any customer service when your ""lack of"" customer service rep can't articulate a coherent sentence to save their lives. Solution:Ask to speak to a supervisor. BUZZZZZZZZ wrong answer. The supervisor is more illiterate than the rep. In addition to no command of the English language, there was a complete lack of logical reasoning and common sense. Of course this was all after 45 minute hold times. Kill this illegal monopoly and let these fools compete in a competitive marketplace and show them to be the failures that they are. They would be out of business in no time....or change their ways. Competition is an outstanding motivator. Going to convert to propane. Calling back and tell them to get their crap off of my property.....PRICELESS. Pros: Can't think of a one Cons: Lousy customer service, bonheaded reps more

Center Point Energy 9/14/2009

After holding for over 60 min (amount of time show on my mobile phone), I finally had to hang up. I am moving out of Houston and want to have my utilities disconnected. They have a message saying this was a busy day. If they are aware of this, It seems if they have so much business they could afford to hire more customer service reps. It is like working w/a government agency. Will begin my quest again tomorrow. Cons: Cannot reach Center Point to disconnect service more

WORST Customer Service EVER! 2/27/2009

I had a problem where I suddenly stopped getting gas. The rep, Chastity, was SO rude when I called and acted like I was an idiot and just needed to re-light the pilot on my stove, water heater and heat. She wouldn't send anyone out to help me. The next day I had to call again and they sent someone. The man came in the house and declared that we have no gas. He also checked the meter and said that there is gas at the meter (of course so they could keep billing me) and said to call a plumber and left! Well that made no sense so my builder came out and identified the problem and now I have been waiting almost 8 hours after I left work early and missed a dinner party for the repair technician to come fix the problem he should have figured out 2 days ago. I have been without gas, and consequently without hot water, for 4 days now! Absolutely ridiculous! The WORST customer service I have ever experienced! This company deserves negative stars! Pros: You need gas and they have it! Cons: They have gas and don't give it to you when you need it despite the fact that you have paid all your bills! more

Customer Service lacking! 12/5/2007

I am so sick and tired of utility companies holding customers hostage! I needed a live human being that can speak fluent and clear English to help me with an issue on my account. I attempt to call several times one day only to get a recording that ""DUE TO HEAVY CALL VOLUME, CALL BACK IN 30 MINUTES"". I call back in 30 minutes and get the same recording again and again and again! I gave up and wait till the next day. NOW I GET A RECORDING STATING ""OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE CALL CENTER IS RECEIVING A HIGH VOLUME OF CUSTOMER CALLS"" and I can leave a message for a call back within 45 minutes to an hour and 12 minutes. THIS IS JUST RIDICULES! Come on CenterPoint, why do you take advantage of your captive customers? Pros: Product always available Cons: Below average customer service more
