I have nothing but excellent things to say about Dr. Whitmire at Cedar Bluff Animal Hospital! She has always taken excellent care of my animals. We have been there for everything ...

Editorial review from Citysearch 11/19/2012

We love Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic and have been going there about 6 years. The Vets are all great. Dr. Cheadle has especially helped us with our dog Max and getting to the bottom of the constant ear infections he was having. We will be forever grateful to her for her help and kindness. I think their prices are average to maybe a little higher than average, but the service and care they provide is more than worth it. The staff is excellent and friendly and facilities are clean. It's great to feel like they know you and your pets when you visit. Butler's is practically across the street from our house, but I am willing to pay a little more to take our pets to Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic. more

Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic is the Best! We have been taking our dogs there for over 8 years. The clinic is clean, and the staff is very friendly. Chester our Basset Hound thinks Dr. Whitmire is the Bomb! AAA+++ more

I love Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic! I have been taking my dogs to them for over 15 years now, and have always received exceptional service. They are always willing to answer questions. I see there are some posts here re: their costs...I do not believe their costs are higher than elsewhere. True, costs have gone up in recent years but they are reasonable and I don't feel they want you to ""overtest"" or overcharge you in any way. I feel they know my dogs and just like having a regular doctor, having regular vets who know your pet's history is invaluable. Thumbs up! more

We have been clients now for 3 months and have been very happy with the service. The clinic is always well maintained and the front desk always gets you in to the rooms quickly. I appreciate the love they show to my ""Zoey"". We always feel like very special clients. Dr. Clark has been wonderful. We have been dealing with a problem with my dogs protein levels. She has kept my well informed. Highly recommend Clinic. more

Fantastic Vet 4/12/2012

I changed to CBAC 3 years ago when we adopted a rescue dog. We could not be happier with this clinic and particularly Dr. Cheadle. She is VERY thorough and knowledgeable. I have recommended this clinic to many friends and all have been very pleased. more

Wonderful! I wouldn't go anywhere else. 9/8/2011

I just have to say that I have been taking my German Shepherd to Cedar Bluff vet for almost 8 years and I can not imagine taking her anywhere else. They have the most caring staff from the front desk to the kennel staff. The doctors are great and are passionate. I have to say that in this day and time, it is hard to come across people that genuinely care, but these people take the cake! They are wonderful!! The prices are comparable to the rest of Knoxville, with the exception of a few, but I believe that you pay for QUALITY!! Quality vet care is what I think is what matters the most... more

30 years at this clinic...... AWESOME! 9/8/2011

I have been using the vets at CBAC for 30 years! They are extremely competent, compassionate, and willing to go above and beyond ""normal"" care. I find their prices to be comparable to others in the area. They have been very accomodating for special needs. I like that Dr. Clark and her staff are also involved in animal rescue and education about animal health. I only want the best care for my fur kids which is why we go to Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic! more

Excellent Vets BUT, way to expensive!! 8/3/2011

I have nothing but excellent things to say about Dr. Whitmire at Cedar Bluff Animal Hospital! She has always taken excellent care of my animals. We have been there for everything from shots to our pet chewing a remote and swallowing a battery, BUT,,,the prices are through the roof. When calling around I found Dr. Butler to be about $100 less than Cedar Bluff for general shots, annual check-up, worming (heart and fecal). With the the economy the way it is, I cant afford to spend that kind of money, so I have transferred everything to Dr. Butler. To be an excellent clinic, they need to have great vets (which they do), but also look out for the consumers and not price gouge!! more

Always go here 3/16/2011

i take my pug there and love this place more

Taking advantage of people - especially on fixed incomes 2/23/2011

I have been taking both of my dogs to Cedar Bluff for a couple of years. It has cost me a fortune??? Everytime I go it is at least $100 or more for each dogs visit. They are the highest in Knoxville - believe me I have been checking around. Yes, I have heard great things about Dr. Butler's clinic. Maybe a little unusual - meaning the type of pets you may see - a pig, bird, etc.! But as far as I have heard he is great and plan to schedule a visit. Goodbye Cedar Bluff..... more

Can't say it enough,,,,, 9/29/2010

I can't say enough good things about the Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic. My cat is my pride and joy, so when I saw the first signs of him being sick, of course I wanted to get him the best care I could. The staff was comforting to mine and my cat's needs.. they went through all kinds of diagnosis with me and thoroughly explained each one and what could be wrong. They handled my buddy with love and care as if he was their own. I ended up having to leave him for observation over night and the doctor was so good at calling me and keeping me updated on his progress every step of the way. Now while taking your animal to the vet is NEVER cheap, i found that they were extremely reasonable. After reading some of the reviews here I was a little leary of going there... but it hind sight, I would never have wanted to go anywhere else!! Thank you cedar bluff animal clinic, you have a friend and patient for life! more

sweet but 6/18/2010

let me start out by saying that my pet family had been long time clients of CBAC. More than 14 years. But after several bad calls by the vets there we have switched. the first was i took a puppy there for his first check up and CBAC had 2 parvo puppies in their hospital and did not advise us to reschedule or come back another day. consequently our new 6 week old pup contracted parvo from there and had to spend several days in the hospital. a very traumatic experience for my entire family. and yes they did charge me for the treatment of the parvo. second bad call was this past holiday, i took a dog there with a tummy ache. long story short they performed emergency, unnecessary surgery on him which cost my family over $1400 and my poor dog was in pain and discomfort for weeks from the surgery. after these experiences we have found a new vet clinic. i think all the personnel there are sweet but i do not have any confidence in their ability to make good decisions on my pets healthcare needs.perhaps they are good just for routine care Pros: really nice people working there Cons: lack of communication and good judgement more

Great vets and great prices 12/29/2009

As a doc for humans, I appreciate good care for my animals. I was surprised and shocked to read some of the reviews about price, etc. After moving to Knoxville, we took our animals to Cedar Bluff. We have never had anything but great experiences there! They have explained problems, offered options for care, and we are ALWAYS surprised at the prices--we can never believe that it's as low as it is! We've lived in quite a few places before settling in Knoxville. Some of those places have been big cities, others have been mid-sized towns like Knoxville, but we've never found such a competent compassionate crew at such an affordable price! Thanks Cedar Bluff! Pros: Clean, competent, great prices Cons: None yet more

Caring Vets, Prices equal or better to most vets in the area 7/30/2009

I hate that there were people unsatisfied with Cedar Bluff. It is a great vet hospital and in the past 2 years they have been treating my dogs I have always felt they were fair priced.Like it or not it is expensive to have pets. I have always gotten the information needed-even if the vet had to call me personally at home. They often throw in free boarding nights and even gave one of my dogs a free teeth cleaning during a surgery since we discussed it but at the time they were unable to know if they could fit it in or not. They also did not get angry when I told them that due to money I take my dogs to a low cost shot clinic and buy my flea meds/ heartworm through another source. I highly suggest Cedar Bluff, but it is most important to be comfortable with who you are taking you pets too. Pros: Friendly staff, reasonable treatments. Cons: Usually have a small wait due to always being busy more

TON OF MONEY ! NO INFORMATION 7/15/2009

I recently took my Lhasa to Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic because he was having difficulty urinating. They did an x-ray and told me he had bladder stones. They proceeded to tell me that he would die if they didn't operate immediately. They described a surgery that would cost around $800, more if they had to send him to UT. \r \r I asked if there was any other option to which they responded yes...to push the stones back into his bladder so he could urinate again. They told me it would cost $250.\r \r When I picked my dog up the next morning, the procedure was a success but they charged me $404. They wouldn't allow payments and didn't give me any additional information about his condition, prevention or possibility of re-occurance.\r \r One month later, he was having the same problem. I took him to another Vet on Oak Ridge Hwy, in Karns. They not only performed the surgery to remove the stones, but gave me ALL the information about his condition and how to keep it from re-occuring with follow-up appointments. They also charged me $360 dollars for the ENTIRE surgery, visit and medication.\r \r I feel like I was taken advantage of at Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic and grossly over charged. They may be competent but I will never take my pet back again.\r \r I just read the review below mine....the same problem with the same outrageous cost! I hesitated to put the name of the new vet in my review, but it happens to be Butler Animal Clinic! They were great and everyone should take their pets !!!\r \r Pros: Competent Cons: Expensive and Alarming more

Awesome 7/6/2009

They always fit me in as I request on a Saturday, with 4 cats and 1 dog. Even after hours they referred me to someone that helped with an injured squirrel, a bird, a chipmunk and a box turtle. Prices are too high everywhere especially for pet care, I'd like it to be cheeper for my pets but the comparisons I made were close enough to keep me coming back for 7 years. I've tried other clinics they were not worth the extra drive for less care. Pros: Convenient more

Great Clinic 5/30/2009

I have taken my dogs to this clinic for 10 years, They are great with the dogs and really help you understand what's going on with your pets. I highly recommend them. more

Prices out of control 3/5/2009

I used to go to Cedar Bluff animal Hospital. I took my Schnauzer to Cedar Bluff because she had to uninate all the time and noticed the urine was red. I found out she had Bladder Stones and she would need surgery to have them removed. The price for this and also having her spade was going to be $875.00. I would also have to wait 2.5 weeks to get her in for the surgery. I could not believe it would cost this much. A friend of mine mentioned I should call Butler Animal Clinic because the prices were much better. I called and they said to bring my dog in anytime and they would take a look at her. I took her in with the records from Cedar Bluff the next day, after looking at the records the vet gave me an estimate for the same proceedures as well as catching her up on her shots and antibiotics she would need to be on after the surgery. This estimate much to my surprise was only $340.00. This was a savings of $535.00. In addition to this they said to bring her in the next morning for the proceedures, no waiting. I was beside myself and so thankful for them. Oh yeah, they did not even charge me for the visit that day to have her looked at. The only difference I could find with Cedar Bluff was that they offered bottled water and coffee in the waiting room. With a $535.00 savings I can buy water and coffee for a year. When I went into Cedar Bluff to get the rest of my dogs records I asked why the cost was so much higher. The gal was kinda snide and said ""it just depends on where you go"" . Well I guess it does and they just lost a customer with 2 dogs and with friends who have numerous pets. Pros: Clean tidy place in a good location Cons: Prices are way to high more
