Editorial review from Citysearch 10/24/2014

Very friendly, make you comfortable when calling in for an appointment Talking to the clerks at the desk and the Dental assistant while in the room. Dentist was nice and very gentle. Completed the extraction of two teeth that were broken off at the gum and I never felt any Pain or discomfort. Very fast.\r Prices are same as other Dentist and a lot more friendly.\r Recommend to everyone. \r more

Not going back after this... 11/17/2011

I just went yesterday to get my fillings done (3 bottom) and I had a very traumatic experience. The dental assistant was not exactly an experienced one or perhaps she was not having a good day. She was holding the suctioning tube and it slid or she let it go, pushing the drill the dentist was holding. The drill got stuck on the inside of my cheek and it ripped my skin leaving not only a hole but a line shaped scar inside my cheek. It bleed tremendously and this happened at the start of my fillings getting done, so I had to bare with the pain another hour or so. Although my mouth was numb (because she numbed the bottom for my fillings and ALSO the top to FIX some temporary fillings placed last week which were causing me pain - wonder why), I could feel a very deep pain. Aside from the pain, I got really truly scared and it really made me nervous. more

very friendly and knowledgeable 10/19/2011

i have been out looking for weeks for a new dental office to start going to. although there were many other dental offices in humble, i came across this Monarch Dental office. as soon as i walked in, the two ladies at the front desks politely greeted me and the lady named lupe, i believe, asked how could she help. i wanted to find out more information on the types of insurance they take, and luckily she named my insurance company. i was excited to hear that this office took my insurance because it was very hard to find an office who did. i also wanted to find out more information on the different plans they offered, so i spoke with the other young lady named elizabeth, she was very knowledgeable about all the plans they had to offer. i also look at how clean the office is and how organzied the staff is. the office looked very neat and well kept. the bathroom was also very clean and that is always an A+. i am so happy i found this place, so now i can start making appointments for my family and i. i have already recommended this dental office to my friends and family. more

The most unprofessional office I ever dealt with 10/14/2011

This office has the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. They manipulate and make you buy services you don't need. My wife and I went in to get routine check ups and asked they we only get services that are covered by our insurance, after we got our bills we noticed that not all our services were covered. We found out they did x-rays not covered even though we asked that we only wanted what was covered. You also have to buy a $50 bottle of mouth wash regardless if you plan on using it or not. The worst part of this office is the receptionist, Elizabeth. She lied to us several times about our bills and has not clue what is going on. Avoid this office unless you're willing to deal with a bunch of thieves. more

Buyer Beware 7/7/2011

The office staff is unprofessional, They constantly would add frivolous treatments that my insurance wouldn't cover. When I had questions regarding billing, the office mgr Maria never had a clear answer always had to call me back and rarely called back as promissed. A complete waste of money, We decided to go with a new dentist ...my daughter's braces were poorly done\r which added another two years to the time she has to wear braces. more

Horrible establishment 8/12/2009

I should have done more research. I selected this office because it was supposed to be a pediatric dentist office and I have a child who is very emotional and deathly afraid of doctors and dentists. My wife called me and informed me that it was their policy to not allow parents in the back while they are performing dental care and they had escorted my son to the back screaming hysterically. I immediately called and demanded that my wife be allowed to observe the ""care"" my son was receiving and the woman I was speaking to on the phone placed me on hold. I then spoke to a woman who informed me that their policy does not allow parents to escort children due to sharp objects in the room. I informed her that if that is the case it should have been disclosed prior to care and if I knew of their policy I would have elected to receive dental care for my son elsewhere. I was then called to schedule an appointment for follow-up care and quickly reminded the receptionist that I had informed them earlier that my son would not be returning. She then informed that I have already paid for future care and I am now in the process of trying to get my money back for services that have not been rendered. Overall, a horrible experience accompanied with an incompetent staff. How are they still in business? more

SCAM STAY AWAY! Dirty offices filled with rude, incompetent staff. 1/15/2009

I was switched to Monarch dental by my insurance company. First off it's located in a run down abandoned strip mall. Upon arrival, the receptionist was curt bordering on unfriendly, and I waited 15 mins for an assistant to come in. Without any talking she led me into the X ray room with stains on the walls, and proceeded to silently struggle with the equipment. She seemed unfamiliar with the X ray equipment and conducted it with no explanation or conversation. I was then led to another room that had stains on the floors, walls, and ceiling, with wallpaper curling up along the bottom, and a shoddily patched section of wall exposed and sat there for 30 mins. The dentist came in looked at my X rays and teeth and said they were fine. I then waited another 20 mins for the hygienist to come in and measure the pocket depth of my gums. She said there were some beginnings of gingivitis and a build up of calculus and plaque, but not too bad and that I didn't need a ""deep cleaning"" So then she says I have to watch a DVD. So I wait 5 mins and they wheel in a TV and play a movie from the 90's about how to brush and floss. It finishes and I'm alone sitting in the room. The front desk lady comes in and asks to see my insurance card again (weird as she's already made a photocopy of it) she looks at the front and then looks at the back and hands it back and leaves with no explanation. Another 5 mins later an assistant comes in and plays another DVD about gingivitis. At this point it?s been 2 hours and still haven't got my teeth cleaned. Then 10 mins after the second dvd ends the receptionist comes in and tells me that I need to sign an authorization form for which there is a copay out-of-pocket expense of 90 bucks. I say no and that I'd just like the regular cleaning, She says ok but that I have to make another appointment. I tell her that this is what I came for and she says no. What a waste of time! Stay away from this dirty office and their rude incompetent staff. Pros: Waiting room was ok Cons: Rude staff incompentant staff that tries to scam you more
