Carpet Exchange Be Ware! 3/31/2011

Be Ware!! I recently purchased granite countertops from Carpet Exchange. The buying experience was quite nice however the service stops as soon as you walk out the door. Carpet Exchange contracts with Aspen Design for their installation. I had not problem with the initial appointment. When the installed the mixed up the granite that goes in the bathrooms so one bathroom had to be recut. This was on a Friday. We were told the replacement bathroom counter top would be ready Monday. When we went to install the kitchen faucet the installers had put a wooden sink support right where the faucet goes so we called Carpet Exchange immediately. We were advised nothing could be done until Monday (3 days without a kitchen sink). No one called on Monday. I called again Monday, Tue and Wed with no return call from our sale person or Aspen Design. Finally I got a all on Wed they would come out on Thursday (a week later) to install the replacement bathroom countertop and fix the bracket in the kitchen so the faucet could be installed. We were going out of town for a long weekend so we had to scheduled the work to be done on Monday (now 8 days without pluming in the kitchen or one bathroom). They came out and fixed the sink and installed the countertop. The next day when the caulking dried we discovered they had not used clear and the glue was showing all around the vanity and looks horrible. Again I called Carpet Exhange and was assured they would contact Aspen Design and have the issue resolved. Again 2 days go buy with no call. I called and spoke with the manager and was advised she was aware of my problem but has just been too busy to deal with it. She would contact Aspen Design and return my call again no response. We are now going on 2 weeks with no pluming in the bathroom and doesn't appear any resolution in site. Of not they contact you immediately when payment is due and all daily for payment but can't seem to find my phone number to resolve a problem. I certainly would not recommend using Carpet Exchange and I certainly will not purchase from them again. more

Lock up your stuff, Carpet Exchange hires crooks 3/11/2011

It looks as though the previous reviews were written by Carpet Exchange. I have never had a good experience with Carpet Exchange. I had carpet installed in my upstairs. Two seams started to come apart. I contacted the store and was told that Keith the install manager would call me. I received a call from an installer and was told that I needed to move the furniture, which upset me because I paid Carpet Exchange to move my furniture. Keith never called me to discuss it. I contacted the local BBB and got a call from another installer who said he would come and look at the problem. When he got here I explained that I needed to leave but an adult would be here to sign. He told me he did not know if he could fix it but he would try. When I returned he was gone and I could not believe my eyes, not only was the gap worse it was crooked and the carpet around it had waves, you could step in one place and push the carpet down. I contacted the BBB again. The regional sales manager called and asked to see the seams. He agreed to restretch both seams. He informed me that the installer would be here the next day. The installer called and rescheduled for 2 days later. The installer got here with a ""helper"", they tore up the upstairs, took a door frame off. I heard a loud noise and I asked what it was, his ""helper"" said it was nothing. They finished up and left, I went up to check and found out that the noise was a crystal box that was broken which was no where the seam was, I am sure it was because the ""helper"" was snooping. I contacted the BBB Again and got a response from some B**ch at Carpet Exchange, to this day there is a quarter inch gap at the seams and all Carpet Exchange has to say is that it is industry standard. My carpet is not fixed even though they have an Install Warranty. more
