GREAT PLACE 8/28/2013

We adopted our dog at the Capitol Humane society. They were so helpful there. They had us look at the dogs. We found one we liked. We were able to take her into a room to play with her and get to know her. We then were able to take her for a walk. We as a family really liked this dog and adopted her. The staff was so helpful. They told us about the dog's history. When we finished adopting her, we got a free collar, leash and a bag of dog food. These people were busy the Sunday we were there, but they made time for us. I would recomend adopting a rescue pet. we love our dog alot. more

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! Especially VOLUNTEERS! 12/8/2011

The staff at this facility have always been rude but I still considered helping out with volunteering since I feel for the animals. I agree with the statement above that they really need to work on their customer service skills! My boyfriend and I went in to take orientation to volunteer for walking the dogs, and were refused to be able to join the class. The weather conditions were bad and though we were running 10 minutes late we still made the drive halfway across town. I would assume that a company that is run primarily off of funding and volunteers that they would have more respect and understanding for those that are willing to take out of their lives to help, but I guess I was wrong. more
