Not as bad as these reviews make it out to be 7/26/2010

I can't say much for this store - I went here more for information than to actually purchase anything. Obviously this place is going to be expensive - they cater to mostly tourist and people coming out of the financial district on their lunch break. They don't have to be cheap, just convenient. I went in asking about entry level D-SLRs. The salesman was very nice, showed me a few different models (actually said the cheaper of the models was one of his personal favorites), and gave me a great website to research on. Their policy is probably no refunds because too many tourists used this store as a rental - buy the equipment, use the equipment, return the equipment when vacation is ending. Nice guys, good information. Prices are high, but to be expected. Pros: Knowledgeable Staff more

Do not buy anything from here!!! 1/11/2010

We bought a $200 camera here on vacation only to download on our laptop and discover that every single one of them was blurry. (This was not the settings or our bad photography. Trust me, it was a faulty camera.) We live in London so I mailed it back to the store to have it fixed or refunded. The package was simply sent back to me unopened. Reading the reveiws below I'm not surprised. more

Do not go here 12/18/2009

In the current economy, I actually felt good about patronizing a locally owned store (vs. Best Buy, Brookstone, etc). Never again. Bought a pair of binoculors from here. Returned them 1/2 hour later (wife had already bought) and owner refused to return money (pointed to post-it notes around store which said no refunds). Why is no refunds a good policy to begin with (it's certainly not for the consumer)? Point is: Do not patronize this retailer -- he / she doesn't know the first thing about customer service. I just feel bad because it's back to the big boxes for me. Cons: Unreasonable owner -- total scam more

Scam Artist - Price Gouging - Trapping Tourists 9/20/2009

Steer clear of this place. Even in desperation, go to Staples a couple of blocks over. This is why some very poor examples of small business owners make it tough for legitimate owners trying to fairly sell their goods. This guy knew he was offering up a scam, an average product, and a long explanation justifying that he was simply taking advantage of customers. I was walking around Boston yesterday on a absolutely beautiful day and realized I had forgotten my data card from my camera. I remembered the Camera Center from a couple of years ago when I encountered 2 nice gentlemen that sold me a strap. So, I walked to Faneuil Hall and went into the store. The nice gentlemen were not there, instead I was helped by this stereotypical salesman/scamster --the type you would expect to be in a touristy area. I was desperate to snap some images of the gorgeous day in Boston so I waited through his scam speech about how an inferior off-brand data card (4gb) was somehow worth $79.95 when I know for a fact (being an experienced photographer) that it is worth no more than $20.00 and that it is in no manner ""the best data card out there"". This guy was marking this product (an probably more items in the store) up to a point that is price gouging, while presenting it in a deceptive manner. Cons: price gouging, scamming, inferior brand pushing more
