Calloway's Court Club

Contracts are terrible. I was leaving the country and was told that they would freeze my account. I came home to a collection notice. They only had two ab machines. Both were broken for about two months. A bunch of out dated and broken equipment. Somebody reviewed that it was beautiful. This is a lie, that reviewer must be the owner. I never utilized the pools, this may be good, but doubt it. The people who work the desk are nice, they get the star. more

When joining I asked if I could terminate my contract, as I was only in Louisiana to do a contract job, and needed a gym to attend. When I went to the office with proof of my move, the owner treated me harshly. I am a professional, and I have never been treated with so much disrespect from a business owner. The company continued to charge my account. I ended up having to close my account so this crooked company would not have access to my finances. This is not how a business should be run. My advise, this gym is not worth the time or trouble, and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. Have you seen the owner? Talk about someone in need of a personal trainer, gym must not be working for him!!! more

I joined Calloway health and fitness, at the time of joining I asked the sales person if I could cancel if I moved and I told her I just may have to due to a court date of my divorce...She said yes no problem just give them notice and they will cancel the agreement...I do not remember signing any contract and did not receive any copy of a contract. I called Callaway soon after I had my court date and the decision made me have to move...I called and they told me that they would no longer charge me...I looked at my bank statement and it was still being charged...I visited the location they then said I would have to bring proof of my move and that I signed a contract that said so... I told them I did not sign any contract they insisted I did...I brought proof of me moving the lady in billing insulted me and claimed that I was just lying and accused me of not moving...I told her look at the paperwork...she was rude kept telling me that people are now falling on hard times and that they are just cancelling for no reason and I am one of them...I told her and she was rude and I she has some nerve speaking to me like that telling me I am a lyre...I then called the owner he seemed very nice and told me no problem he would cancel the agreement and he would refund my money...I then texted him thank you because I was speaking to him on his cell phone...I saw the transaction the following month and I texted him several times with no reply and now I find out he cancelled his cell phone...I then again called the location once again I was treated rude by billing I then faxed over again three statements of proof that I moved with resentment because I was told by the sales person I did not need it and by the owner...I have spoke to a lot of people about this and they also claim they have been overbilled by them and that they are trying to bait and switch...I feel like I was baited in by a sales person and then switched to know you have a contract...Please keep this on file I Cons: If you Move they will keep billing you... more

The gym in Calloways is amazing and beautiful. It is huge. It has an indoor track, some raquet ball rooms, indoor pool, outdoor pool, a lot of weight rooms, a lot of cardio rooms, and a spinning room. It is beautifully decorated and it doesn't look dirty at all. You can tell that the owner MUST have put a lot of money into it. The cardio room has treadmills and eliptical trainers, all from old to new. So much variety. And the spinning class doesnt just have like 2 spinning bikes like other gyms. It has a lot. And even the weight rooms, there are like.. 3 weight rooms. Its really amazingly nice. Its never too hot or too cold, its always just right. It doesn't look as big as it is on the outside. But you will be amazed when you step inside. Its huge! The children can even play in the basketball court. You should really join Calloways. Its awesome! The Membership contracts are financial agreements to FINANCE the yearly Membership, not a month to month plan. They do not allow any exception on canceling memberships. I was a member for 2 years and I had 4 months left on my 2nd year contract, and they would not let me cancel my membership, I even sent them a 30 notice with 30 day payment. They have HORABLE Customer Service. Pros: big place kinda old Cons: contracts. more

Ladies Bathroom water did not work for about 2 months/ still no locks on the stall doors. more

Has a great pool, lots of machines to use, plus a updated nursery that looks great. My children love going in there. And a very friendly staff and manager. Pros: Lots of machines do not have to wait Cons: Parking after 5 more

Good overall place to work out. Very poor facilities for shower and steam room etc. The concept is there but new equipment and (mens never been in the womens) old steam rooms, showers and dressing rooms just dont work in 2006 for a club with that kind of price. It 's like driving a new lexus in the summer with out AC. Very sweaty. Hopefully it will catch up with the rest of the world of court clubs outside of LA. Love the new manager and what she has done with the place. Lots of machine and always a friendly staff. My children love the daycare. Pros: Lots of different classes, always something going on. more

I feel it is a good value. You have an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, hot tubs and steam rooms in each locker room. Various classes and instructors are available. You can see that the management puts money back into the gym and equipment. Staff used to be friendly and knowledgable but now there are all new staff who do not seem to care about guests and do not know about the gym or training. Full basketball court, many raquetball courts, cardio rooms, many different weight room options, child care, etc...
