company to use for CA/NY moves 12/11/2010

California New York Express Moving is extremely well priced, professional and on top of it from start to finish. I was notified of the progress of my belongings through the whole route and received everything at the front end of the window I was given. They were punctual with every part of the process including with every call I was told I would get. Everyone I dealt with along the way was friendly and helpful from the man I placed the order with to the man that unloaded the truck. more

great movers 12/9/2010

I recently moved from LA to KY and looked at various shipping companies with various reviews. I ultimately chose moveeast (ca/ny express) purely on price, they came in $3-400 cheaper than anyone else...which kind of scared me, but there price won me over. Needless to say, it was the right decision. the guys who came and packed up my things in LA were extremely thorough and fast, there was communication with me daily when my stuff was on the road and the delivery guy in KY was excellent as well...it arrived unbroken and in a timely manner. which is all i wanted... the $400 didnt hurt.. more

Had a great move 12/9/2010

I moved from Brooklyn to Redondo Beach, California. These guys did not break anything! Even though my packing was just about throwing everything into as few boxes as possible without ANY protection... Very irresponsible but I don't have too many valuable items. The price was great, they were very professional and delivered my things within 10 days. I definitely recommend them. more

Thanks Moveeast! 11/11/2010

We used moveeast movers for our move from Brooklyn NY to Los Angeles CA. This is the first time we've moved across country so I was nervous. Noel gave us our quote and he was so kind and also gave us an incredible price (we shopped around). He was also terrific with answering questions. Teddy and crew worked with us on the Brooklyn end to move and Rigo and crew worked with us on the LA end to arrive. They were WONDERFUL. So respectful and nice. They wrapped everything and lost nothing. Granted some things broke in the boxes here and there, plates etc, but I think this is due to our packing. Make sure you pack remembering these boxes are going from truck to truck. They arrived within 8 business days with our items and we were able to track it across the US. I would recommend moveeast and I hope they maintain their prices and their great team. I will definitely use them again :-) more

friendly & reliable 11/10/2010

Just moved from San Francisco to DC (which was made more complicated by the fact that I was already on the east coast, and my mom had to coordinate from the SF end) with CANY Express, and they were great. They kept both my mom and I in the loop throughout the whole process, and even scheduled a late evening delivery with me after the truck broke down and they were not able to make the initial afternoon window. My stuff was in perfect shape, and the representative in charge of the move was extremely courteous and professional. I have moved with other companies before, that might have done an ok job moving my stuff but the employees were not particularly great to work with. This is not the case with CANY, as everyone I had contact with from the main office to the movers themselves were extremely nice and helpful, and even more importantly, knew exactly what was going on and dealt with my questions themselves instead of passing me on. Highly recommend--definitely helped minimize the stress of moving! more

don't often write reviews but i'm compelled to write to say I was very pleased with CNYEM. Noel was a knowledgeable, professional and everything he said would happen went according to plan. Their rates were better than Bekin although for me quality of the job was more important than saving a few bucks and my items arrived a few days earlier than expected which for me was a great thing. I wasn't even in NYC when they packed up my stuff. THey packed it, shipped it, and brought it in to my new place. Nothing broken, a few minor scratches but nothing serious. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone in the future. more

A flawless move 11/5/2010

Just completed a move from San Francisco to New York using California New York Express and can not recommend a mover more highly. I have used other movers in the past and no one compares.\r Everyone, from the office estimators to the delivery staff, was Professional, courteous across the board; there were no hidden fees above the most reasonable moving cost I could get. \r I met the movers at a warehouse where my thing are being stored, and the only thing missing in the move was a cup of coffee and Danish waiting for me while the delivery crew complete the flawless move. \r more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED MOVERS!!! 9/29/2010

CA NY Express Moving did a great job picking up and delivering my items. They were on time both in LA and New York, my items were handled with care while they were in my possession and must have been when they weren't, since everything came back as it left. Most of what I shipped was fine china and crystal and two old, large antique furniture pieces. Everything was great!!! From customer service the first time I called to the last box delivered, everything was handled beautifully. Highly recommended! more

Excellent 9/17/2010

Totally honest and communicative. Responsive. Hard workers. Used company trucks for the entire move. Did not sub-contract any part of the move. The move (3000 miles) was made with efficiency. Initial estimate was a little low, but that was my fault because the boxes were piled up in two storage lockers and could not be evaluated easily. After I agreed to the move, the boxes were pulled out of the lockers and evaluated, and final fees were established and agreed upon. After that, the charges were guaranteed and did not change at all. There were no surprises at the end. All boxes arrived safely and in good condition. I tipped the three workmen at pickup and the two at delivery. They deserved it. more

This is my third time using California New York in 6 years. Each and every time, I have been impressed by their ability to go above and beyond the call of duty. The follow through with the various crews was seamless and I am so glad to have used them each and every time. I tell all my friends who are doing big moves to use California/New York. more

Everyone I spoke with on the phone and met in both NY and CA for the move were super personable and helpful, as well as fast and thorough. Plus about half the price of any other company I looked at. Truly a great, full service moving company. I paid 1/3 of the pride of a POD and got a full service move. I was very happy with the service from initial estimate through execution. Cross country moves are already stressful and it was good CNYC took all the logistical stress out of it. Very fair and reliable company. more

Both moving crews - the team picking up my stuff in California and the team dropping it off in NY - were courteous, helpful and professional. Everything arrived in good condition and in just over a week. They were flexible with pick up/drop off times which I really appreciated since I work full time. And, the company is priced very competitively - worth every dollar. I would definitely recommend them, and use them again if ever needed. more

Excellent Moving Experience! 8/3/2010

I spent almost a month reading reviews and calling or e-mailing moving companies, and the process was so hard. We were emotional about the move, since we were moving our daughter across the country, from California to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she is moving to attend graduate school. I had many questions and specific concerns, the primary one begin delivery time, as we were flying to Pittsburgh with our daughter to get her all moved in and set up in her new place. However, the delivery window with all of the movers was VERY wide, and it put us in a panic. I finally contacted CANYEX and from start to finish, from Elizabeth to Hector to the young men who loaded us to the driver and his assistant who unloaded us, everyone was extremely helpful and understanding of our concerns. We were hoping for a delivery no later than August 4th, and imagine our pleasure when we received the call that delivery would be on the 2nd! NOTHING was missing from the load, and we have unpacked now, and NOTHING is broken. I would HIGHLY recommend CANYEX to anyone who needs support and a smooth move! more

Great movers! 7/21/2010

I have used CA-NY Express twice now for moving. Both times they have been very reliable, professional, and courteous. They have never lost any of my boxes or damaged my goods. They wrap your furniture up well and I think they're reasonably priced. It took about three weeks to get my stuff, which is a bit long. For deliveries, you need to make sure it's semi truck accessible, else you have to pay extra fees for a smaller truck. They also have fees for being on the 3rd floor or higher, or the door being more than 100 feet away from the truck (usually about $120-150 for either). I definitely plan on using them again in the future, if needed! Pros: Professional, courteous, no damaged goods, no lost goods. Cons: Takes 2-3 weeks to get your stuff more
