Delicious Tapas and Great waitress 1/8/2009

Walked by this place and stopped in with a friend due to the abundance of goat cheese on the menu (a personal fave of mine). We got lots of things to share - delicious goat cheese croquettes, chimichurri steak, white sangria and best of all this amazing pumpkin ravioli that you can get in a half portion. The waitress was super friendly and told us how to use the porrones (these cool Spanish wine-pourers). \r \r I live right around the corner and will certainly be back! - can't wait to try the Spanish pizzas, chorizos, etc. Pros: food, ambience, tapas! Cons: slightly chilly inside more

Mediterranean in the middle o' winter? 12/21/2008

The wine and beer list was recommended by some friends so we dropped in for tapas & wound up having dinner. Started with chorizo, anchovies, goat cheese croquettes... They have these carafes called porrones so you can share your wine. Dinner menu is kind of small but definitely delicious. Crispy spanish style pizzas, homemade pasta and a lamb special that was quite honestly perfectly cooked. Staff was fun, friendly, explained some of the oddities on the menu. And the space is beautiful, tucked into a little north slope corner. Soooo happy. Well done! Pros: Food, Wine & Beer, Ambience more

Tasty and inventive tapas 12/5/2008

Great food, reasonable prices, good atmosphere, convenient location. A personal favorite of mine in Park Slope. Pros: Great food, service, prices, and atmosphere more

tapas and wine... what more could you want on a friday night? 10/22/2008

went on a friday night with my boyfriend, the friendly hostess at the front door made the food sound wonderful so we stopped in... lo and behold the food was everything she described and more, a great wine selection and an eclectic menu. Tapeo has a knowledgeable staff who explains the food and wine with ease, making new comers to this way of eating feel comfortable. The ambiance was delightful with spanish (i think) jazz playing in the background, low tables and low lighting with candles everywhere made it a great date night, however there was a party of 6 people who seemed to just be hanging out drinking and enjoying a friendly meal, so i would def bring friends there for a great night out. Went back and tried the new brunch menu saturday morning (served sat AND sunday) and it is DELICIOUS, I cant wait to go back this weekend. Pros: great food, great wine list, great waitstaff Cons: wish i lived closer! more

Unique, delicious and low-key 10/14/2008

My boyfriend and I were meandering in the neighborhood, passed Tapeo and noticed people pouring wine from high and low into their mouths through this cool vessel and had to try it! We grabbed a seat outdoors and ordered a handful of tapas to share. Delicious. Truly. Grilled calamari, quinoa with veggies, shrimp and garlic, beet and goat cheese salad, deviled eggs - an eclectic, unique mix. And to top it off, the flan - to die for! Light and super creamy. It was a great surprise that we've returned to as a guaranteed tasty bite with friendly service. It's a good place for conversation and to feel part of the neighborhood both on a date and with a group. Pros: The food is amazing and the purrons are fun to practice / drink from more

Nice place 10/10/2008

I've only been here once, but I would definitely go back again. I don't remember exactly what I ordered, but the red wine flight was a lot of fun. Everything was reasonably priced and I left sat-is-fied! The servers were super nice and not at all stuffy.\r \r Pros: server, wine more

Excellent for Groups 4/19/2008

I loved this dining experience. Everything that came out of the kitchen was delicious and creative. The pace in which the food came out was perfect, and really gave us a chance to savor every dish. Everybody in our group of 7 ordered 2 items off the menu and shared everything. If you don't like to share, this place might not be for you. I also recommend ordering the raciones portions over the tapas. Some notable dishes: scallops, devilish eggs, lamb, and stuffed mushrooms. Everything was excellent. Also, the outdoor seating and open air feeling inside really add to the atmosphere. Give this place a try, and share the experience with some friends. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked Cafe Tapeo. It is now on my list of favorites in Brooklyn. Pros: Food, Ambience, Atmosphere, drinks more

a Great Tapas Place in BKLYN! 3/12/2008

This a great little spot in brooklyn! I enjoy everything about it. From the food to the service. I definatly would recommend this place to anyone that wants great food and great drinks. It is worth the few minutes out of the city for some good eats. My friends and I are planning out next trip out there! Pros: The awesome food and great service Cons: None! more

Slightly Disappointing 10/27/2007

My friends and I tried out this restaurant b/c of the cozy atmosphere. The beer list is extensive and unusual. The food was tasty however we left unsatisfied due to the small portions for the more expensive prices. There are many tapas restaurants I've been to where I can't wait to go back for me....not so much at this particular one. more

Effortlessly Delicious and Comfortable 10/20/2007

Tapas is my favorite way of eating. Share, share, share is my M-O and so here at Cafe Tapeo I was in all my glory. I've passed this place by a few times but never stopped in and I'm glad I did. The staff is incredibly friendly but not invasive. Despite its small space, it provides a lot of subtle Brooklyn ambiance and old world charm. The truffle chips are addicting and I'm still day dreaming about the scallops. I was bummed they were out of the Tempranillo they tout as ""the best"" but the Shiraz I had was full-bodied, spicy and enjoyable. The tasty food and relaxed feel at Cafe Tapeo paved the way for a chill evening of good conversation and satiety. This is a great date venue or a place to kick it with your girlfriends. I think I'd even like to go here alone with a book in one hand and a fork and wineglass in the other. Bueno! Pros: Variety of tasty small place, Nice Wine List, Mellow Ambiance, Great Staff Cons: Some Wines Out of Stock more

Wonderful Addition to the Neighborhood 10/2/2007

My partner and I have enjoyed four or five terrific evenings at Tapeo and have thoroughly enjoyed every one. The service is friendly and attentive. The beer list is excellent and includes some unusual selections. The tapas--which are, by definition, bite-sized morsels of heaven are...well...bite-sized morsels of heaven. \r \r If you're looking for a big, heavy meal, this is not your place. If you're looking for an exciting and satisfying eating experience--emphasis on experience--you won't be disappointed. Pros: imaginative menu, excellent flavor pairings, pleasant outdoor seating, attentive waitstaff, friendly service more

perfect 9/12/2007

As a well seasoned and educated traveller I was quite pleased to find a more european style bar in NYC. The food quality, presentation and flavors all blew me away. Yes portions are small but in accordance with ""pinchos - bite size portions"" the tapas style. Bear in mind tapas are there to complement the beer and wine. If you need our American portion control - try mcdonalds and supersize it. Its about time europe made it to park slope!!!\r \r Pros: Relaxed environment, music on the weekends, outdoor seating Cons: just opened so a few kinks to iron out more
