Best Steak, Salmon & Pasta in Bellevue! 10/23/2010

Best dinners in Bellevue on Friday & Saturday: Dalani is the owner/chef who serves the best tasting steak in town -- with delicious lamb shanks on the first weekend of every month. Her salmon is delicious. She also makes great pasta & crepes!\r \r Lunch every day -- crepes a specialty. \r \r Saturday and Sunday brunch!\r \r This is my favorite restaurant -- and the best value in the Northwest!\r \r more

Great Food but very slow 10/4/2009

We ordered our food at 11:30 and didn't get it till 12:45. It's fantastic quality food but they are very slow. they have a very small kitchen and have 3 people working there so they can't keep up. They can handle only 2-3 table max at a time. Will definitely go back but won't eat there if it looks too busy. Pros: Great quality food Cons: Very slow service more

The Shrimp BLT Is A Must! 5/6/2009

I have been here for lunch three times over the past month and had the same server each time. I would describe him as polite but not in a position that matches his skill set. With that said, the food more than makes up for the miss on service. Pros: Outstanding food Cons: The service is a little lack-luster more

Hole in the wall, small town atmosphere, with great food and beverage. 1/24/2009

My wife and I restaurant a lot. This is one of my favorites. I see in other reviews, people complained about the service. Our experience is that the servers, of which there is usually only one, are relaxed and maybe still in training, but that's part of the charm. They are always friendly and accomodating, and not hustling you for a bigger tip. We've been there maybe ten times, always for dinner, and always enjoy the experience. The rack-of-lamb in incredible and reasonably priced. We bring family and friends. Sometimes, we're the only customers there. In fact, that part is a real enigma. I hope, selfishly, that they can stay in business without ever being discovered. more

Great fresh food, wide selection, cozy and relaxing environment 7/18/2008

My 10 year old daughter chose the restaurant, based on the name and her love for ballet. When she saw that the menu had cinnamon crepes, she was sold. My husband looked at the reviews before joining us for lunch and they were very discouraging. We decided to try it anyway. Our service was timely and very accurate. The food was amazing - fresh mixed green salad, wonderful shrimp BLT, flavorful omelet and the presentation of the food, especially the fruit allowed us to feel cared for. We don't eat out very often, but the next time we are in the area we would return without any hesitation. Pros: walking distance to the mall, quiet, relaxed setting, unique choices of food more

Vibrant food, Dead Customer service 6/5/2008

On my first trip to Cafe Pirouette the food was stellar, but the service was lacking. The good food was enough to bring me back a second time- but the service was even worse; and was so bad that I will never return. \r Our server (both times) was completely aloof. And (again, both times) incorrect orders were delivered to our table.\r It is disappointing that a place with such potential for delicious food can be ruined by the lack of customer-service.\r The worst thing is that, even when the problems were brought to the attention of the server and the cook; neither of them seemed to care. Why patronize an establishment that couldn't care less bout retaining business? more

Great Food...Terrible Service 6/5/2008

We have been here a couple of times, the crepes are amazing but the service is always slow and on occasion non-existent. The last time we where there it took 25 minutes to receive our salads and then when our order arrived it was incorrect. We had no luck flagging down our server and finally I had to go track her down. I advised her the order was incorrect and she gave me a blank look and said she would get back to me. We waited another 15 minutes to no avail and my girlfriend had to go track our server down again. She said that the cook suggested we eat it anyway and she would give us a 10% discount. So at this point, they had not even tried to correct the mistake. I told her that was unacceptable, that we just wanted our bill (for my coffee), and we were leaving. When she gave me the bill, she attempted to charge us for the food even though it was not our order. I left the money for the coffee and we left. I do not think I will ever return even though the food is normally fantastic. Pros: Great Food Cons: Terrible Service more

Food looked great, wished we had a chance to try it 5/23/2008

We're on vacation in Bellevue and thought we'd try some place local for dinner. I prefer local restaurants to box restaurants. I found Cafe Pirouette in the Entertainment book I'd purchased. \r \r We arrived around 6:30 pm. We were offerered our choice of tables and the waitress brought us water right away. The menu look interesting, with choices of lamb shank, veal & chicken saltimbocca, not to mention the selections of savory crepes. A little pricey, with most entrees at $18 or higher, but I'm willing to pay for good food. After the initial contact with our waitress, we saw her, but never at our table. She read a large order to the chef, cleaned salad plates, took someone their takeout order. She walked past us several times, but we couldn't catch her attention. Finally after 18 minutes of no contact, we got up and left. She looked right at us, but never said a word.\r \r It's a shame really. We were hungry and looking for something intriguing, new & interesting. Instead, we got the cold shoulder. Pros: Looked quaint and cozy Cons: Lousy service more

Wonderful bistro 2/28/2008

Love this little place!!! Have taken friends there and even my daughter. All have loved the intimate atmosphere! Tiny and unique. Great food, wonderful service, and delightful atmosphere. Good for friends or a date. more

Terrific atmosphere 1/27/2008

Great little place that I wish I had discovered years ago. Try Saturdays for an easygoing brunch. The crepes, although not really French, are tasty and host a great combinations of veggies and meat inside. If you do go in the morning ask for a cup of coffee, whatever kind of coffee they use is great, think its Italian. When its not busy the cook/owner will come out and share a cup of coffee for you, she's quite charming. Only one time did I have to wait overly long for my food; but it was irregularly busy and the waitress brought out pastries for me and my friend to munch on while we waited. This also would be a nice little date restaraunt. more

Not as cosy as promised 1/14/2008

Arrived at 7 pm on a Saturday in January. Most table were not set, only three-one in back, one in the middle, one in front. Settings did not include salt, pepper or other basics. Waitperson was friendly, seemed very new. She and one other person on premises-the cook, asian. Ordered a crepe. Had to ask for bread, ask for pepper, ask for water, ask for refills. The salad was crisp, tasty. The bread was toasted, garlicky, quite good. The crepe was like we'd never seen before-we've been around over 60 yrs, not kids, we have some perspective. The crepe was a flat brick shaped square, gummy not fluffy. The cheese, the meat, the veggies were passable, the crepe seemed not fresh. One can't always tell, but we did hear a microwave 'ding' as our order was being prepared. How do we know it was our order? We were the only ones in the place. \r We went because of the ad in the Entertainment book, we were in the area. The interior was pleasant, warm on a chilly evening. The waitperson was courteous, but very new (when we called to ask for directions because we could not find it by its address, she tried to direct us to a bakery in the same neighborhood). \r The general neighborhood, just south of the Bellevue park, is higher end so perhaps the price was appropriate. To us, the price was out of line for the quality of the product in its setting. And the quality was such that we won't go back. good luck! Pros: Pleasant little place, off the main drag, quiet, comfy Cons: Hard to find, empty-perhaps a strong indicator more
