Bull Run Bluff Campground

My family and I just spent Labor day weekend at Bull Run Bluff. First when looking for places to stay on the internet this place came up as KOA, when we pulled in we quickly realized it was not a KOA it was a dump. The office was so disgusting and smelled worst then a barn and lacked customer service. The pull through was so poorly maintained we couldn't get our camper leveled. The pool was dirty and no chlorine had been added in a long time I wouldn't allow my dog to swim in it that is how bad it was. The entire property is in a state of disrepair. The icing on the cake was the electrical outlet we were hook to shorted out and burned up our plug. We went to the office to report it and the owner claimed it was the electric company's fault. The camp ground is clearly responsible for maintaining there electrical boxes. I most definitely do not RECOMMENDED this campground. more

I am very dissatisfied with the customer service and their attitude. It is also apparnt that Kerry, Kerri is reviewing their own place so of course it's going to sound nice. First of all she tried to charge me for 6 night's when we were staying five nights until we made it clear she was in the wrong. The office smelled of animal piss she scolded us for burning some driftwood (which there was no sign not to do that) the husband stalked us on his 4 wheeler there are no trash cans so you have to walk to the dumpster all the time. The shower house as it was listed on the website was not cleaned on a regular basis. The marina gas dock has been permanently closed for some time. There is no fuel sales there and no convenience store, thus the website is very deceiving. No wifi unless you are next to the office. Never again, do not recommend, do not walk away from this place run away! I left early due to the harassment from the management. more

We spent the weekend at Bull Run Campground on Memorial Weekend 2014. Whoever they hired to make their website deserves a golden globe. This place is an absolute dump. The office smells so bad from the owners pet rats and ferrets that our throats were burning. No kidding, I'm serious. We have camped all over the states and stayed at many family owned campgrounds so please don't think I am just being picky. This place is a dump. Grass was up to my knees ON MEMORIAL WEEKEND. The pool wasn't open til the second day we arrived and was so cloudy you could not see your feet. The poison ivy grew inside the fence of the pool and when you got out you had to be careful not to touch it. Don't waste your time here!!!!!!!!!!! more

We just spent this past weekend camping at Bull Run Bluff campground with our grand kids, we really enjoyed all the shade trees and nature. The sites are spacious, large playground and very quiet. We would definately go back. The only thing I would like to see would be depth markers and safety ropes defining the deep and shallow parts of the pool, also a life hook. Great time and very friendly Host's. more

"Hi, my name is Scott Shafer. This summer, my family and I spent the summer at Bull Run Bluff Campground and RV park. In May 2008, a new owner took over the campground & marina. We had our RV and boat there for the season. We rented a boat slip and RV site. Some time after 5-27 08 and before 6-13 08 my boat and 4 others had their tarps’ & seats’ cut . Damage to my boat was $5,700. Water patrol has the report's from the time this happened till the next time we went to Bull Run Bluff. Kerrie, the new owner never called or sent a letter to us to let us know that something had happened to our boat and he had both my phone number and mailing address. I have dated receipts and letters to prove this. I talked to Kerrie about what happened. Others and I asked what or if he was going to do to help prevent this from happening again in the future. He had told me and the others he was going to install gates on the walk way's to our boats. Sometime after 6-13-08 ( not sure of the days or weeks or how many boats), I believe it was 4 boats that got cut. MO Water patrol has the reports. Myself and some others spent money out of our own pockets and time to install cameras at the marina. There was no offer from Kerrie to help pay or install cameras. Then, later in the year, my boat got damaged again. I asked Kerrie the new owner about the gate's he said he was going to put up. His reply was, “I changed my mind.” I asked how come he never told anyone that he had changed his mind and was not going to put up the gate's. He said he didn't have to tell anyone and if we didn't like the way he ran his business we could leave. There were other people around when Kerrie (the new owner) made these comments to me and my wife. We are not the only ones he has made this comment too. That weekend, my wife and I pulled our RV out October 5th, not getting to finish the season we paid for in fear our property would get damaged again. The next weekend, I went down and got my boat and the new owner Kerrie was there. He made no attempt to talk to me o more

Bull Run Bluff is a beautiful campground. It is always nice and clean. It is also very quiet. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful. They offer tent and RV camping. There is a bunch of stuff to do here. There is a swimming pool, a rec or game room, fishing and much more. more
