My husband and I decided to try Brunello Trattoria, hoping it would erase the bad memory of dining at Ugo the night before. We were not disappointed! We walked into a warm, inviting restaurant and took a seat near the window. We nibbled on the yummy freshly baked bread while perusing the menu. We both ordered what turned out to be impressive glasses of wine. My husband's Pinot Grigio was so good -- nice and rich, almost like the body of a chardonnay, and I had an equally wonderful Sangiovese, with nice ""legs"" and full of cherries and spice. We shared the caprese salad. The buffalo mozzarella was so fresh, it almost tasted like a burrata. I had the spaghetti bolognese, which had a great overall flavor with small chunks of grounded meat. It was so delicious, I had to control myself and not overeat. My husband was really bummed I wouldn't let him have the leftovers. He had the linguini with clams and mussels in a red tomato sauce that was out of this world. Both pasta dishes were cooked perfectly al dente, and the sauces were awesome. I ordered the espresso creme brulee for dessert. It blew me away! It was perfect -- not overly sugared, with the espresso soaked through the custard. My husband -- who doesn't eat desserts -- ate a third of it! It was so freakin' good. We found out the owner was Italian, and his wife was the chef. No doubt they know what they're doing. All of the food was excellent and reasonably priced. My husband and I will definitely return soon!
Pros: Awesome food; warm, inviting interior
Cons: Maybe the strip bar billboard we viewed from our window seat...
