So good! Most Italian places on Grubhub are cheap and they taste exactly that way. This place has great prices and the food is fresh and fancy. more

An excellent new restaurant! 7/30/2008

My husband and I decided to try Brunello Trattoria, hoping it would erase the bad memory of dining at Ugo the night before. We were not disappointed! We walked into a warm, inviting restaurant and took a seat near the window. We nibbled on the yummy freshly baked bread while perusing the menu. We both ordered what turned out to be impressive glasses of wine. My husband's Pinot Grigio was so good -- nice and rich, almost like the body of a chardonnay, and I had an equally wonderful Sangiovese, with nice ""legs"" and full of cherries and spice. We shared the caprese salad. The buffalo mozzarella was so fresh, it almost tasted like a burrata. I had the spaghetti bolognese, which had a great overall flavor with small chunks of grounded meat. It was so delicious, I had to control myself and not overeat. My husband was really bummed I wouldn't let him have the leftovers. He had the linguini with clams and mussels in a red tomato sauce that was out of this world. Both pasta dishes were cooked perfectly al dente, and the sauces were awesome. I ordered the espresso creme brulee for dessert. It blew me away! It was perfect -- not overly sugared, with the espresso soaked through the custard. My husband -- who doesn't eat desserts -- ate a third of it! It was so freakin' good. We found out the owner was Italian, and his wife was the chef. No doubt they know what they're doing. All of the food was excellent and reasonably priced. My husband and I will definitely return soon! Pros: Awesome food; warm, inviting interior Cons: Maybe the strip bar billboard we viewed from our window seat... more

Good arrived on Time. The soup container was dripping and that was unfortunate because it got messy but the food was really good. Can't get enough of the amazing brick oven made bread. more

Nice atmosphere, great food, great service, GREAT prices! 1/22/2008

I performed down the street at the Jazz Bakery and took a party of 10 in here last weekend. What a nice surprise. The service, prices, and pleasing bread were the first things that landed as positive. There are very few things over $15 on the menu - don't let those prices fool you. We all had pastas, and being Italian, I can say that they were cooked perfectly al dente and sauces were tasty but not overly oily or buttered. Just really good stuff all around. \r \r Service was accomodating and gracious - we were not treated any differently because we all wanted tap and no one ordered drinks. Water and bread service was fast, efficient and unobtrusive. At these prices and considering the decor (it's nicer that it could be), the only Italian restaurant in Los Angeles I could possibly compare it to would be Vivoli in West Hollywood, which is a hidden gem in a strip mall.\r \r Culver City is lucky to have Brunello, which I believe is a sister restaurant to a very high-end Italian spot in Beverly Hills. Highly recommended. Pros: Great prices, food, and service. They have it down! Cons: Not a tone of meat and fish on the menu, nothing too close by for nightlife. more

Low key, pleasant surprise 12/31/2007

When this new spot quietly opened a few months ago, I drove by many times before finally stopping in for dinner. Nice surprise! Bigger than it looks from the outside, and excellent quality food, pasta, pizza and superb home made bread. The decor was also right on target, elegant, tasteful and in line with a quiet, enjoyable evening of Italian fare served up in a very personal way by the owners and their servers. Prices are on the higher side - but warranted given food quality, service, decor and overall ambience. We've been back twice with consistent good quality. more
