As someone who was first coming here during the first few weeks after it opened in the late '90's, I'd love to refute some of the criticisms offered here, but I can't. In the beginning, it was linked to the diner next door, and you could order food from there, but the door between the establishments has been locked for years, and no one seems to know why. The quality of the bartenders and the regulars has declined considerably. Bartenders in the beginning were dedicated ""old school"" types who showed up on time, always bought back, and looked out for you. The last time I was here, about two years ago, a surly Asian lady was behind the bar and never bought back after five rounds and refused to do anything about a homeless guy coming in and hassling customers for change.\r

In the early days, the crowd was a nice mix of blue collar workers, young professionals, and local hipsters, but as is pointed out here, it's mostly been taken over by college kids and the BT has developed a reputation for allowing underage consumption and pot smoking in the backyard. Hence, all the complaints from the locals about the noise. Within the last month I observed the cops being called due to some raucus college party on a Tuesday night, no less, and only yesterday (a Sunday afternoon in the fall), I just shook my head to walk by the place on a Sunday afternoon, with football logos in the window, yet the place was closed shut.
