Poor Records Office 7/1/2006

I took classes here and then went to get a transcript. Since they mispelled my name in the computer (but not in my printouts), I couldn't even get my transcript. I had to call the dean to get me a transcript! The records office gets a big zero. The courses I took at Brooklyn College were good - nothing special, but ok just the same. more

Beautiful College 8/5/2005

I never knew a CUNY college would be this good. I though it was a bad school until I my friend attended there. The campus was beautiful. There was a big clock tower and a great lawn. Its definitely a great academic place to learn. The whole campus is outfitted with Wi-Fi for students and they give free laptops to honor students. I think its a great college in our neighborhood. more

Brooklyn College 8/4/2005

I am currently attending Brooklyn College and I have to say that this is an amazing school. The campus is gorgeous. Right now they are doing renovations on the plaza building and the internet cafe, but even with the rubble and fenced off locations, the beauty of the campus still shines through: the colorful flowers, vibrant green grass, and tall structures. Aside from the aesthetics of BC, the education is above average, grade-A quality. We have some of the most brilliant professors, especially in the English department: Moustafa Bayoumi (brilliant), Matthew Burgess (inspiring), Roni Natov (encouraging), James Davis (affable), the list goes on and on. I've also had brilliant professors in other courses: LaBianca (for Core Chemistry), Blamire (for Core Biology), Harris (for Core 1--classics), etc... A lot of people may disparage CUNY and CUNY students, but they are completely underestimating both. Definitely visit this school if you are thinking about going to college--you will find that I am not lying. It's a competitive school and also very active in student life (so it's not always hitting the books). There is also a large diversity of students (of different ethnicities and ages), so there will never be a dull moment on campus. There are also many places to quietly study and a lot of computer access all over the campus, and they are building a starbucks right next to the college for a great coffee fix. And don't believe all the hype you hear about Robert Scott in the Honors Academy. He's all talk and not as helpful as he appears to be. He will tell you that he's taking care of something for you and you'll remind him time and time again and months later it will still not be done. more

Beautiful, Relatively Cheap, EDUCATIONAL! 7/29/2005

Brooklyn College is certainly the LOOKER, it's design is beautiful, old but beautiful. I read in a magazine that it was voted #3 most beautiful college in the US. They have lots or programs to choose from, and it's pretty cheap to attend it, around $5,000-$7,000 per year. Nice personnel, frustrating to deal with at times, good graduation rate and teachers seem nice as well. more
