I work on my laptop, mostly in the evenings. I called BRM one night off and asked Ben (the owner) if he could look at my laptop. He said sure, bring it in tomorrow. I told him specifically that I work evenings on my laptop, but he failed to mention he doesn't get to the store until 5 or 6. Too late for me. I wasted a drive at 3 in the afternoon to have him look at my laptop, as I I went to the store and was told that he wouldn't be in until later. No big deal. It's recommended that I contact Ben directly and set up an appointment. I email him and politely ask for an appointment. He asks for my home address and for a time he can do a home visit. I tell him my address, and a good time. He emails back and says he can't do the weekend. Why'd he tell me he could do a home visit then?? I suggest Monday or Tuesday. He emails asking for for my home address AGAIN as if I hadn't already provided it to him. I suggest meeting at a public library close to my home at 5PM. He not only doesn't show up, he never emails me back or contacts me to apologize.
I was nothing but pleasant, courteous, and respectful to Ben. I tried to accommodate him as much as possible so he could get my business, but he was irresponsible and disrespectful to me. I have the emails as proof that this guy doesn't know how to run a business or treat a customer.
I don't recommend Geek Squad or another big repair franchise like that, but I can't in good conscience recommend BRM Laptop either, as my experience was worse than dismal. I can recommend that others watch their backs with this place.
