Bright Beginnings Academy

My daughter was going to BBA for about a year. I had a few issues with the place and had heard various bad things about the owner and the facility. I kept wanting to get my daughter out but didn't know where else to take her so I left her there. Well I got a call one day that my daughter had her fingers slammed in a door and that she would need stitches. The owner failed to call 911 and took it upon herself to drive my daughter to the ER and had me meet her there. Her finger tips were literally almost OFF!! How did this happen?? I was furious. After emergency surgery the next day to reattach her finger tips, she had a cast on for weeks and I never even got a call from the owner after the incident or any compassion. I beg people Do Not Take your children there. They do not have enough staff, and the owner is a horrible person. Oh and yes I do have one of the 10 lawsuits that apparently she has right now against her!! My daughter didn't go back one day after that incident!! more

My children have been attending BBA for two years, I'm so impressed with the school and the staff. Whoever designed and built the school should really be proud, I dont think there's a school in Florida like it. I'm just so happy I found this place for my kids. Thank You BBA more

I would like to remain anonymous because i once worked at this facility but not for long i left because i did not agre with the atmosphere. Carli Lucia and her husband are criminals all you have to do is google them. They mistreat the children at that school as well as the staff. They have a extreme high turnover becuase they never want to pay you on time. They also have a hard time letting their employees use the restroom because there are not enough employees. I once threw up in the classroom in front of the children because no one could come and relieve me. They talk down to the children and it is a horrible school. This school is 1 star. more

My nephew attended this school for the past 1.5 years. There has been an extremely high turnover of teachers over this time period. He not only has a different teacher each morning and afternoon but is in different classroom from AM to PM, so you never know which classroom to go to. The paperwork which you receive is not filled out half the time. They decided to close the school at 11 AM, last month for a storm because the news said there were going to have 35 mile an hour winds. This week the children were to go single file to breakfast with their hands behind their back, when he said no, the teacher grabbed him by the arm and pushed him up against the wall. This was in front of another parent. The owners only comment was that her and husband are going through a divorce and that she was sorry. more

My two kids have been attending the school since its opening, amazing school is all I can say, security is one of a kind you cant get in if you dont belong there. The staff is also great, my kids have learned so much. Keep up the great work, I Love you guys. more

I have a child in this school. I am currently searching for a new school! Yesterday when I picked my child up from school she was eating her afternoon meal off of a coffee filter! This is a great example of this schools policies and actions. This of coarse is only one such example but I can tell you that this place needs to be under investigation! If you decide to put your child in the facility please, please, please make the time to check on them regularly. Surprise the staff at various hours and you will get the real truth! Much of the time in the middle of the day, or towards the end of the day, you will not find anyone at the front desk. Great for security! Do your research. I know how tough it can be when you need to find a facility and maybe you are short on time to complete that goal, but, trust me do your research. I got stuck in that rutt. I needed a facility quick, saw this place that yes LOOKED amazing and entered my daughter, regrets, regrets, regrets! more

I stopped by the other day just to see this new day care center in Ormond and I was blown away with the facility. The staff was friendly, the children looked happy and the murals on all the walls that would remind you of "It's A Small World" in Disney World were absolutely breath taking. If I had a pre-school age child, I would definitely use that facility. Very impressed more
