Bridal Shop At The Avenues

I am a bride to married in the next few weeks and I feel terrible for directing my bridesmaids to The Bridal Shop of the Avenues. They have treated my maids poorly from the very first visit. I ordered the dresses back in October with plenty of time for them to be shipped on time. Out of the 3 dresses we order. 2 have had very extensive mistakes. One of my bridesmaids is 5'10"" and when her dress arrived it was 2 inches too short. We we called the shop to let them know of the mistake, they told us that they would not be able to overnight a dress. Ok, that is understandable. When asked what they would be able to do, they told us that they did not measure her when she came in for her appointment, that the dresses come in Regukar length and Tall. Obviously by looking at my bridesmaid you can tell she will need a tall, and further more, not to double take and make sure of her heigth is completely their fault. We are having to pay for the extra alterations and they are taking no ownership for their mistake. FYI-Theshop opens at 11am during the week and they often take lunches at 12:30. Do not use the shop at the Avenues. They do not adknowledge their mistakes and are very rude to their customers. more

I must say this was one not of the worst experiences of my life But it wasn't the best either... Im not going to rant and rave but basically I was treated like a number & went elsewhere. I bought my gown in Lake City, FL This place was definitely NOT what my friends said it was... I would just like to start out by thanking the wonderful ladies at the Bridal Shop of the Avenues. They have gone above and beyond to make sure I was well taken care of. This is not a generated message by the shop. I am an actual patron of the store and am very pleased with their services. I am getting married in March and had some problems with my dress (some my fault). The ladies were quick to make sure everything was smoothed out and taken care of in a timely fashion. \r \r Because of these ladies and their hard work my dress is perfect and I can't wait to wear it on my wedding day. Don't believe everything people write when it is negative. As a bride things seem 10 times more stressful or worse than they really are. Go in and see for yourself. \r \r I would highly recommend the services from the ladies here at the Bridal Shop of the Avenues. If they are busy when you walk in they greet you right away and work you into their rotation, making sure that you are taken care of. more

DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS TO THE BRIDAL SHOP AT THE AVENUES (FORMERLY BRIDAL SHOP AT ORANGE PARK, TOO)!!!! The only reason I gave them 1 star is that you can't give them ZERO. My best friend found her bridesmaids' dresses here and we have had nothing but trouble with this place since day 1! They ordered the wrong (smaller) sizes for two bridesmaids--one cannot even zip her dress--and of course there is not enough time to order the correct sizes before the wedding. They ordered an extra-long length (for an extra $40) for another bridesmaid without asking her and it is too long, so now she will have to pay more to have it shortened! \r \r The customer service is terrible/non-existent, the staff (both owner and her shop lady) seems to have almost zero real knowledge of the lines they carry or retail in general. These ladies may be sweet, but they should not own a bridal shop! Do not add more stress to planning your wedding--steer clear of The Bridal Shop at The Avenues!\r \r Oh and by the way--it is very clear that the 5 star reviews were written by the shop to counteract the actual reviews. This place deserves zero stars, and if you patronize it, you will find out for yourself without a doubt. After reading all of the negative reviews, there is clearly a developing pattern here. I personally experienced having to beg to get someone's attention to even place my order! We ordered our dresses over 7 months out, which, in wedding-land, is plenty of time to get the correct bridesmaids' dresses ordered from any CAPABLE wedding shop. If you want to take your chances here, give yourself at least 18 months, judging by other reviews and my personal experiences. Or better yet, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, and be taken care of the way you should when you are preparing for your special day! Pros: ZERO. this shop is fabulous!!! i had a great time with the mother/daughter team up. jenn and debbie are great, they know what they are doing and they make dress shopping soooo much fun, any question i had they answered and if they didnt have an answer they would contact me asap with an answer! i also got my 6 bridesmaids dresses from them too! its was great, all 7 dresses came in on schedule and then they recommended this seamstress MARTHA SHUMP, she was awesome and the dresses turned out better than i imagined, THANKS TO THESE WONDERFUL LADIES MY DAY TURNED OUT BETTER THAN I COULD EVER DREAM! THANK YOU GIRLS SO MUCH FOR MAKING MY DAY THAT MUCH MORE SPECIAL! Pros: they helped make my wedding dreams come true Cons: there isnt one bad thing to say about this bridal shop! i loved it more

like every smart bride i went looking for my wedding gown a year in advance, the first place i went was the bridal shop at the avenues, i walked in and the ladies there welcomed me as if i was walking into a friends house, i told one of the ladies excactly what i liked and she advised that i needed to try everything, we had a blast looking for the perfect dress for me, i felt like i was a queen. my dress came in way before the due date and it fit perfectly, all it needed was the hem. i cant wait for my special day and thanks to the bridal shop @ the avenues and martha shump (the wonderful lady that did my alterations) i am going to be the prettiest princess on my wedding day. Pros: great service, prices, people, and just everything was fabulous Cons: the fun had to end!! more

The Bridal shop at the Avenues is great, the selection of dresses (lace, satin etc.) it was impressive and the prices are more affordable than other shops in town. There was large dressing rooms and mirrors, and the staff was very helpful, the women that work there are always on there toes whether there be 1 or 12 brides in the store. I am very shocked about the prior comments from other people, I have been in quite a few weddings and I believe that people procrastinate way too much for events like this and then expect everything at the last minute, BRIDAL SHOPS ARE NOT FAST FOOD JOINTS!!! SO MAYBE START THINKING AHEAD A LITTLE MORE, THESE WOMEN TELL YOU WHEN THE STUFF IS COMING IN !!! I recommend this store to all but if you are going to go I advise a weekday you will get more one on one consult, but that is at any retail store. I ordered my dress, veil, Bridesmaid dresses and more from here without any problems and in the amount of time that was estimated, THANKS BRIDAL SHOP!!!! I got my wedding dress here and that was fine because it came right off the floor and i didn't have to order it but i also got the bridesmaids dresses here and they had to be ordered. the first time they came in they were the wrong color so they had to send them back out and they didn't come back in till one week before my wedding so the girls didn't have time to do any alterations to the dresses. When you call them and they say they will call you back they never will you will have to call them again and they messed up and they only thing they did for my girls was give them $20 off. Do not go here unless you want more stress than you are already under trying to plan a wedding!!!!! Pros: Had alot of desginers Cons: They mess all the orders up more

DO NOT use this shop!! I am crossing my fingers that after 3 (count them ladies!) delivery attempts I will get my dress just 2 days before the wedding...NO IDEA what we will do if alterations are needed. I have heard multiple accounts of what happened with shipping, but what really put me over the edge was I was promised after 2 failed delivery attempts that a dress would be shipped on the same day I spoke with the shop - it was shipped out 5 days later. The infuriating thing is they have had the dresses for a MONTH! Only one attendant (out of 3) was notified that her dress had come in (the bride was never called). On a side note - all credit card charges were put through (including shipping), and the shop had the audacity to tell me that it was my responsibility to make sure my dress was picked up (even though I live on the other side of the country and had paid extra for shipping!). I would strongly urge you to stay clear of this shop at all costs...its just not worth the stress during this important time!\r \r more

I went to this store a few months ago and bought four bridesmaids dresses. The store employees ignored us the entire time we were there (we would have gone somewhere else, but we were all in town from out of state and wanted to go to the beach). When the dresses came in, they were enormous. Several of my bridesmaids commented on the size (several were size 2 and made for a ""DD"" chest), and the lady told them that ""young girls tend to think that things are too big when they're not."" How rude! I would not recommend this store to anyone. Pros: They carried the designer we were looking for. Cons: Terrible Service more
