Best

Brewvies Rocks. It's definitely my favorite place to catch a show. And instead of munching on overpriced redvines you can order from and extensive food menu. The staff is not o...

Worst

Its a great concept, but the food is consistently poor. Have a beer and watch some good flicks but avoid the food. Pros: concept, good movies, beer Cons: terrible food

Concept is great 2/28/2003

This is a concept that not only is ingenious, but given the Utah culture/laws, is reason to celebrate. The idea of beer and food casually consumed while watching a movie isn't odd except for the fact that you're not doing it at home but in an actual theater! The beer and food are both good, not great. The movie selection is offbeat and often independent oriented. Service leaves a bit to be desired, but I'm getting used to that in this town. Also, be forewarned that there is definately a crunchy, pseudo-hippie, leftest vibe here which often means people taking themselves way too serious. My advice: concentrate on your date, the beer, and the movie. Pros: Concept, Movie selection Cons: Hippie crowd more

convenient time occupier 2/18/2003

Fun idea - great beers! Had the veggie burger - yummy, but the bison bratwurst was dry and lacking Pros: BEER, Movies Cons: a little smoky, no bathroom intermsn more

Best place in town for a movie! 1/29/2003

Good food + beer in a movie theater. Doesn't get much better than that. Their pizzas and sandwiches are very good, and they have an excellent selection of good beer, especially the local, microbrewed stuff. Pros: Pool tables, Good value more

Fun movies, great food, neighborhd spot 11/23/2002

Brewvies is a great feature in SLC's downtown. Neighborhood feel, with a terrific menu and beer selections. Fun, avant garde movie selection. A great experience! Great date night spot. Pros: Great menu, Fun movies, casual atmosphere more

the great escape 11/20/2002

this is one of the highlights of slc. great atmosphere, great place to relax with a movie and a beer after a long week. more

EXCELLENT 10/19/2002

I love the place. It's the best food and atmosphere around. more

The Best Reason to be 21! 10/8/2002

I turned 21 at the beginning of this year, and went to a few bars and stuff. But, then we went to Brewvies! I absolutely adore it! Great food, great staff, great flicks and on top of this BEER in all different types and flavors! What can be better? The only problem, the kitchen closes at 10, so no food for the later shows. But this is my one gripe. Everything else- perfect. moe more

Oh how I love MY Brewvies! 6/26/2002

My boyfriend and I go to Brewvies about twice a week at minimum. I guess we go there pretty often, b/c they always and bring us a pitcher of Bud Light right as we sit down. The staff is fun to talk to, and the atmosphere is FABULOUS. Very casual. No dark, smokey, noisey bar here. This is the BEST place to meet some friends for some pizza and a few drinks. The food is good too. The portobello sandwich is great and their salads are very fresh. A wonderful atmosphere for a night out. Pros: Inexpensive, Good Parking more

Dinner and a movie: under one roof! 6/6/2002

Weve only gone for the dinner-and-movies, which is a real bargain on Wednesdays, especially if youve donated to KCPW; with your membership card you can watch for free that day! Surprisingly, some of the food is a step up from your standard pub faretry the spinach dip or a salad with their pesto-vinaigrette dressing. Course you can buy salty-greasy food as well, all of which goes well with beer (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). You can choose from a great variety of local brews. I didnt count the exact number but there were at least a half dozen available just on tap. Fish n chips were spot-on for the two times weve ordered it; both were cooked perfectly, although it was the pizza-wedge kind of fish. Make sure the popcorns fresh before you buy it. At our 5:45pm movie I think it was a little stale. Pros: Ample parking, Food, Theater has tables! more

You haven't been to Brewvies yet? 6/1/2002

This place is always great. They have great food and a wide variety of beer. The staff is friendly and there is a wide variety of things to do. My friends and I love to go to Brewvies at least once a week. more

Excellent food, great vibe 5/20/2002

This is a great place to just hang out with friends after work, shoot some pool or have a relatively affordable meal. The food is great--basic pub food, excellent flavors. Fun place to see a movie, too. Pros: Good after-work bar, Great food, Beer in theaters more

Cheap beer, good people 5/14/2002

I love this place. Most of the time I don't even see a movie; I just show up with a couple of friends and order a pitcher or three and some buffalo wings. The food's all on the heavy side except for a few salads, but that's my only complaint. Pros: good beer, good movies, great service Cons: heavy menu more
