Brake Specialists Plus

I read these last two reviews and was quite confused. I then asked some of my neighbors in drippin who they use and they told me to take my vehicle to this mechanic. The manager's name is Kouri (very weird spelling, but he does have it printed on his business card which he handed to me when I came in). He had his techs give me a ride home and back up to the shop which really helped me out. The shop fixed my vehicle correctly and I felt the price was fair. Read the reviews and make your choice...my choice is to come back again. more

I have used them many times and not had a problem in the past, until now. Purchasing tires from them is not recommended. They charge almost twice as much and their road hazard warranty is nothing compared to Discount Tire. Unfortunately, they forgot to place the wheel lock back in my car after repair, but that could honestly happen anywhere. My mechanics, who are men of integrity, do not recommend them as well. more

Stay clear of this Brake Specialists Plus unless you want to be ripped off!\r I went there and told them I needed my front brake pads replaced. Kory (the manager) said I didn't need them done but instead charged me $150 to clean my rotors. My brakes continued to squeak. Six weeks later, I took them somewhere else to get a second opinion. They informed me my fronts were at 1/3 and needed to be replaced very soon. I called Kory and took my vehicle back by - - he said I had another 10k miles. So basically he charged me $150 for a temporary fix for my brakes (which didn't even fix them). Instead of being honest and telling me I did not need my front pads replaced for 10k more miles- he conned me into getting the $150 ""cleaning"" job. He could have just told me come back in 10k miles like a descent person and businessman - but he wanted to make a quick buck. He expected me to come back in a year and pay another couple hundred dollars to get the front pads replaced.... He was just plain taking advantage of me being a woman and not knowing the ins and outs of cars. \r The manager Kory was rude and condescending when I spoke with him on the phone and in person. He treated me like a child and gave me attitude from the very beginning. \r I called Firestone at the Y and they will replace my front pads for $160. I shouldve gone to them from the beginning... \r TRUST ME - DO NOT GO HERE. you will regret it. You will be taken advantage of and treated like dirt. I brought my tractor tires in to the Brake Specialists in Dripping Springs to get them repaired. They patched them up for me and installed new tubes in them as well. They got them back to me same day. I am very pleased with the level of service I got. more

I had another shop do my brakes last time when I was out of town and I paid the price. The brakes always sounded like they were grinding. I brought my Escape into the Brake Specialists in Dripping Springs to have them looked at. Apparently the last shop, replaced the brake pads only and left the damaged rotors as is. The rotors ground my pads down in record time. Brake Specialists replaced my rotors and used a premium pad on the vehicle. My brakes have been great ever since. I had the gentlemen at the Brake Specialists in Dripping Springs perform my 100K maintenance on my GMC Yukon by appointment. They set the appointment up and had all the parts waiting for me. I just sat and waited while they performed the service. They got the vehicle done in under three hours and I was on my way. Thanks for the quick service. more

I was having an issue with my ranch truck of constantly being slow to start. I dropped it off at the Dripping Springs. They tested the fuel pressure and noticed that it was insufficient. They installed a new fuel pump same day and got my truck back to me. It has started right up for the last several days, so I can safely say job well done! more

Kouri ordered me some nice Yokohoma tires for my Toyota Highlander last week. He had them shipped next day and called me when they arrived. I brought my truck in and he had two guys mount and balance the new tires in under an hour of me getting to his shop. I was seriously impressed. Kouri and his crew upgraded my trailer brakes, since I have been hauling more material than I probably should. The new brakes are working great. This place seems to be my second home, since I bring all my work trucks and trailers to this Brake Specialists. Thanks for being there for my vehicles and treating me right. more

I have spent a lot of money with Kouri and his crew because I have several vehicles. I keep going back because I know they will tell me the truth, and do a prefessional job. They don't try to sell me anything I don't need, and if something isn't right, they make it right. I recommend them whenever I have a chance. more

I was having issues with blown bulbs on my trailer for about the last 6 months. My neighbor said I should go up and see Kouri at the Brake Specialists in Dripping Springs to get it fixed. Now Kouri is quite a character and the way he banters with the regulars is pretty funny. He got me checked in and had one of his techs go diagnose the trailer wiring. They found a couple of places where there was some bare wires touching each other. They rewired most of my trailer and put a new plug on it as well. The trailer has been working great for the last week and I am very satisfied. more

I have brought my family's vehicles to the Brake Specialists in Dripping Springs several times before and I have been very pleased with the work they have done. I was in a bind and couldn't get my son's new go kart to start for his birthday. I brought it over to the shop and they repaired an issue with the wiring that was keeping the go kart from starting. I hit the trifecta the last time I was at Brake Specialists in Dripping Springs. I had worn my tires down to almost no tread. My brakes were grinding. My vehicle was at 100,000 miles and Kouri, the manager, told me it was time for some spark plugs. Does this story sound familiar, because my friends and family seem to do the same thing with their vehicles. I got some Yokohoma Geolander tires that ended up being cheaper than getting them at Discount Tire. I also had them replace my front rotors and install a set of Adaptive One pads (noise free guarantee, can't beat that...). They did my spark plugs and my plug wires as well. Needless to say I dropped a bunch of money, but I was happy to do it. They got my vehicle done in about 5 hours, which borders on amazing. If I would have had anyone else do this much work, it would have taken them a whole day or maybe 2 days. I appreciated the quick turn around. Now, I just need to recover financially. I will definitely refer some of my buddies to you all. more

I was told at the dealer during a recall that I was needing brakes and if I didn't do them I would hit metal on the way home. I did not have a problem on the way to the dealer and decided to get a second opinon. I have been told time and time again by diff. neighbors that I should go to the Brake Specialists in Dripping. Well as Murphus Law goes on my way home from the dealer I got a flat so I had no choice but to go right after leaving the dealer.It was late and had plans on dropping the car for the night and my wife picking me up.They got the car right in and while one person fixed the flat another was checking the brakes.By the time my wife got there,they had told me the brakes where still good all the way around the car and that I could drive my vehicle home and didn't even charge me for the flat repair. The only thing they asked in return was that I come see them next time I needed anything. You bet I will use these guys for everything and my neighbors where correct. more

As a new customer here I was treated very professionaly by the receptionist and mechanics. I just had an oil change and inspection done on my vehicle. They were fast and the price was good. I will be back! Pros: good prices for reliable service more
