Brainwash is the ultimate multi-tasking playground. While their main function would seem to be laundromat, washing clothes here almost seems like and afterthought. Washing machines vie for space with pinball and other video games, and the front rooms is a cafe/bar with beer on tap, and local musicians perform their latest hits. more

Brainwash 5/19/2006

Brainwash is the all time standard bearer in SF for funky laundromats. It rules and will never be surpassed. Who’da thunk it that washing your clothes could be such a fun, sexy thing? Their concert series was legendary, they even released a comp CD of it some years ago. They always have free condoms at the register. The food and drink are pretty good too. Get ready with your best pickup lines, like: “those are some nice panties” because on a busy night, you never know what might happen... more

Brain Was Cafe and Laundry 4/14/2006

I think that this is a brilliant idea with a great name. The cafe area is perfect to relax in while you do you laundry. They serve coffee, espresso drinks, and yummy pastries. The people are really nice. They also offer some magazines to skin through while you wait. And teh laundry area is very clean and well kept. Its a nice feel to mix coffee with the nice scent of clean clothes. Its a great place because it makes you forget that you are doing laundry. more
