Sam Boothe is not a business man! He lost our invoice, so there is no record of our transaction. He did not keep track of how much money we paid him or how much money we still owe him. We had initially chosen more expensive fabric, then decided to go with a less expensive fabric, and he has no record of that and forgot to reflect that change on our total price, which may I remind you, he has no record of. But to top it all off, when our couch FINALLY arrived, it was upholstered INSIDE OUT!! How does that even happen?! When confronted about this error, he led us to believe that he would get it fixed after the holiday season and that it would be no problem. However, once the holidays had passed and we tried to get in touch with him, he screened and avoided our calls, then when we finally tricked him into answering our phone calls, he informed us that he would not correct this error! You will be interested to know that $1,300.00 later, I still have an inside out couch! His prices are lower than average for a reason!! Stick to the saying, ""You get what you pay for"". Mr Boothe has very poor business sense. I agree with the other review that the work and crafsmanship is very good. However, Mr Boothe does not keep adequate transaction records and was offended when I canceled a check for the balance of the work that was performed. The check was canceled for two reasons: 1. the balance he stated was incorrect and on review of my records I discovered this error. (he actually overcharges for the materials and profits on these as well as well as imcorrectly recalling what we had already prepaid) and 2. OUR COUCH WAS UPHOSTERED INSIDE OUT. As I am sure you can imagine this was an egregious error. The couch came back as a yellow denim instead of the bronze satin that we orded. And, to make matters worse Mr Boothe demanded we pay the balance prior to his completeing the work and correcting HIS error. Our trust in this man was truely compromised. I felt as though we showed significant good faith by not only prepaying for the materials but also approximately 50% of the labor. Only through much duress to myself and fiancee were we able to come to an agreement to correct the mistake; which at this point has been over three months and is not completed yet.........we still have a YELLOW COUCH.
