This is a rare find on the Cape. Far from the main roads, it's a restaurant worth seeking out. For breakfast, they do all the right stuff right - eggs, bacon, pancakes, French toa...

Bartender refused to call a cab!!! 10/16/2007

This should really be a two part review. The food itself was more or less what you would expect from a restaurant on the Cape - simple and nothing very fancy but satisfying. Plus, our waitress was very helpful.\r \r What I have a major issue with is the bartender, a rather large man we came to find later had the nickname ""Cement Head."" Long story short, this was the weekend of the Oyster Festival and it was late - around midnight. There were 4 of us - 2 couples who asked if they had a phone number for a local cab company since we had been drinking and did not want to drive. Mind you, we asked for a number, not for him to call. He refused to give us any information and was incredibly rude to us, saying among other things don't bother, it's like $40 per mile. I can't believe in this day and age a bartender would refuse to get someone a cab - this was AMATEUR. Luckily someone at the bar helped us out. \r \r My advice, avoid this place at all costs. more

Nice location, Lousy food & service 8/26/2006

The service at this restaurant is profoundly disappionting. My party had to wait more than twenty minutes to receive menus, then another long wait preceded our ordering, drinks, dinners, and even the check. Our waitress never asked if we enjoyed our food--which we didn't--nor did she ask if we wanted drink refills--which we did as evidenced by our empty glasses. On top of that, a gratuity of 18% was automatically added to our bill because our party was over six people. Most of our food was luke warm and tasteless. To add insult to injury, patrons needed to follow a maze to the restrooms and the men's room's door did not lock; thus, ""conducting one's business"" was anything but private due to the constant threat of visitors to this single person facility. The ONLY positive quality of this restaurant is its location across from Mayo beach. It is right next to a playground and has a used bookstore attached. Do yourself a favor: hang out at the beach, play at the playground, even purchase a cheap book, but steer clear of this awful restaurant. Pros: location Cons: everything besides location more

Nice place to go for dinner on a summer night. bring a sweater and ask to sit up stairs on the porch for a wonderful view of the bay. and a nother bonus there is a play ground right next store for those how have trouble sitting still! Pros: good drinks, view, sunsets!!! Cons: slightly expensive more
