Late on credit card payment - watch them rip it out of your checking account! 4/25/2012

I admit it - I was late on my credit card payment. 30 days, actually. Times are tough as I write this and eventually I would take care of the overdue amount. What I didn't know is that the collections witch would rip $125 out of my $133.90 balance just like that. Left now with less than $9 to my name I'm forced to pawn in order to eat and put gas in my car to drive to work. I'll be leaving BECU shortly, I'll be spending a fair amount of time/effort to broadcast this experience as much as possible, and I will never recommend this credit union. Not even banks do this - checking accounts are kept separate from credit accounts. What swine this credit union is. more

Boycott Banks! 7/31/2006

Banks like to charge all sorts of hidden fees for everything. If you are tired of this you might want to consider joining a local credit union. BECU is the credit union that will let you join if you are a Washington state resident. Once you join, you will find that there are no hidden fees and the customer service is great. The only drawback is they are not everywhere and sometimes you get stuck paying atm fees when you are traveling outside the state. more
