Best Tapas in San Fran 8/29/2006

I can't believe I'll be the first to review this place! First things first, everyone should know that Bocadillos has a first come, first serve seating policy. The setting is very cozy, with perfect dim lighting and exposed brick walls painted red, adorned with tiny alcoves for faux candles. Now for the food - simply divine! I always go for any ceviche or tuna sashimi-esque dishes that rotate on their menu - never been disappointed by them. Also, go for the deviled eggs with chilled prawns and pepperoncini - I can inhale about half a dozen of these if I didn't know how bad that filling was for you. The only place I've had better patatas bravas is at Lime in the Castro - but these are a very close second. PLEASE do not forget to top it off with their chocolate lava cake and homemade banana ice cream. This is definitely, without a doubt, the best dessert in all of San Francisco. The only thing they lose a star on is their wine menu. I've never seen it updated too well, which is not an issue, but nothing I've tried was anything better than mediocre. Sorry for the wine snobbery. more
