Good coffee, too pricey 10/9/2008

The prices are a wee bit too high, but on the plus side--it is NOT a chain! Very good lattes. Service sometimes grumpy. NOTE: Be wary of reviewers who write lengthy, glowing, and unabashedly favorable reveiws as they are almost surely professional plants. It's easy to figure out who they are--read their other reviews (they are never, EVER negative). Pros: Tasty Cons: Pricey more

Not worth the wait 8/18/2008

After reading the great reviews of Blue Bottle Coffee, we tried the coffee today. It was just okay. The flavor of the drip coffee was good, but the coffee was served lukewarm. We waited over 5 minutes for warm coffee. Pros: coffee had good flavor Cons: it was served warm more

AMAZING New Orleans Iced Coffee!!!! 5/28/2008

This was the best coffee drink I have ever tasted. The baristo was very friendly and explained to me what made it so tasty. I had to get a 2nd one. You MUST try this!!!! Pros: AMAZING coffee! Cons: It's hard to find. It's in some weird alley thing. We had to sit on the curb. more

some good some bad 8/1/2007

bought half pound each of the Yemen Mattari, Wotona and Chiapas. the Mattari and Wotona were good, the Chiapas is a melange blend and i felt the lighter roast were under roasted (sour tasting). e-mailed blue bottle coffee about the Chiapas and did not receive a response. seems customer service is not up to standard Pros: Wotona and Mattari were good Cons: avoid the Chiapas more

The most amazing coffee ever 6/22/2007

This coffee truly takes it to the next level. The iced coffee is the best I have ever had - a perfect balance between chicory and sweetness. Definitely worth the trip. Pros: Amazing coffee Cons: pricey, no where to really hang out. more

Coffee and attitude. 6/18/2007

Coffee is great. Servers' attitude leaves much to be desired. Bordering on straight-up rude. What's become of customer service these days? Pros: coffee Cons: service more

this is the place to get coffee 8/10/2006

I recently moved to San Francisco, and my friend took me to Blue Bottle to get coffee. I got the iced coffee, strangely one of the most expensive items on the small menu, but it was absolutely perfect. Perfectly sweetened, not acidic, it was really just right. It was so good in fact that I returned a few days later to try the cappucino. This was seriously one of the best I've ever had. The prices are a little steep for the sizes, but the quality is so worth it. The best coffee, by far. more

Best lattes in the city 7/27/2006

This little spot in Hayes Valley has gotten progressively more busier as word has spread about Blue Bottle Coffee Co. The beans are fresh roasted daily at their roastery in Oakland, and all drinks are made one at a time infront of you. Milk is steamed in small pitchers just enough for one cup at a time which results in a creamy rich foam latte, not simply steamed burnt milk aka Starbucks. Pros: Fantastic espresso and lattes Cons: None to mention more

Delicious Coffee 1/22/2006

Tiny teeny storefront--not even really a storefront, but more of a counter in front of a wood working shop. The menu is small--various cookies, espresso, cappucinos, macchiatos, and mochas. No funny flavors, no weird sizes, just delicious coffee, made fresh with freshly roasted beans. All shots are ristrettos, so you get the full effect of the delicious coffee flavor. This is the way that espresso should be. Highly recommended. Note--Linden Street is really more of an alley--so if you blink, you'll miss it! more

TEENY space, but packs a wallop in a cup o' java 1/19/2006

yes, it's true... Blue Bottle coffee is just a quirky little stand in a non descript alley in Hayes Valley... but I'm telling you this is some da*n good coffee. The baristas are all fabulous, too. I think the beans are all freshly ground, every ingredient is organic/fresh as possible, and each cup of coffee is made fresh right in front of you... yes, i know... right in front of you! My absolute favourite is the New Orleans iced coffee... it's my hang over cure (!) and gets my heart pumping in the morning til, well, basically the next day! Pros: organic/fresh, knowledgeable barista, outdoors in sun Cons: 2 seats, ah, exhaust..., outdoors in rain more

snobs + coffee = snoffee 7/14/2005
