Hands down this was in my top 5 days of two-thousand and ten 1/25/2011

Sometimes when you live in this city you can forget about the charm of our more well-known attractions, such as climbing the stairs to Coit tower, going out dancing downtown, and, yes, riding a bike over the Golden Gate Bridge. My lady friend was in town visiting so we decided to go Tandem riding over the bridge, and oh my god we had the best day ever! I pre-reserved the bike online and we headed down to their spot by Ghiradelli Square to pick it up. The tandem took a little bit of getting used to, but after one or two near collisions with flocks of japanese tourists we got the hang of it! Crossing the bridge itself was EPIC and exciting: We stopped at one of the towers and spit off the edge (like every good tourist should), we wondered how many people jump off of it every year, and then we continued on our adventure. I brought us some chili-covered mangoes and dried seaweed to snack on at a secret beach I'd heard of in Sausalito, then we pressed on to Tiburon. When we finally made it there I got six pack of speakeasy beers, and then some more, at their supermarket and we chilled on the grass by the water waiting for the ferry. Needless to say, after riding 20 miles and only eating seaweed, the beers got us in the perfect spot real fast. Next thing we knew three ferries had come and gone whilst we were wrestling in the grass by the ferry terminal. We finally pulled ourselves together and boarded the ferry at sunset time. It was astoundingly beautiful. It was FREEZING on the deck, but we bundled up and braved it to see all the sky turning colors and the sweeping views of the Bay. Completely unforgettable. Once back, we dropped off the bike in their 24-hour garage. All in all, the bike worked great and the service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Immediately after dropping off we went to get some celebration burgers at Pearls (mmmmm!!!). Hands down this was in my top 5 days of two-thousand and ten! more

Working with Blazing Saddles was a pure pleasure 1/17/2011

Working with Blazing Saddles was a pure pleasure. Lighthouse International held our first annual ""Double Up For Vision"" event on October 23, 2010 and my contact was Jimmy Acevedo. He was extremely helpful and a delight to work with! Not only did he exceed my expectations with his customer service in the planning process, he attended our event and assisted our participants to make sure their bikes were properly adjusted. Everyone that came into contact with Jimmy commented on how professional and personable he was. All of the bikes that we rented were in excellent condition and he took the time to be sure that everyone had a wonderful experience on them. I would highly recommend Blazing Saddles to anyone who wants to rent a bike in NYC. Dale Simpson, Volunteer Events Coordinator, Lighthouse International. more

These guys know what they are doing 10/5/2010

I came down to Fisherman's Wharf on the Cable Car and happened to see the Blazing Saddles bike rental shop on my left just before the last stop. I hadn't thought of biking over the Golden Gate Bridge, but why not. It was explained to me that the ride takes you along the waterfront and that the ride is basically a flat ride. Along the waterfront.. makes sense, right? The ride was a blast, we ended up having something for lunch in Sausalito and unfortunately didn't take advantage of the bar they have on board the ferry that takes you back to Fisherman's Wharf. Great views of Alcatraz, especially if you don't have time to do the whole Alcatraz tour. We rode back a couple minutes on the bikes to the place we rented from and dropped them of without any problems. If you have the time in San Francisco, you've got to do this ride. more
