Big O Tires

Shame on you!!!\r I brought my car for an allignment. They told me before they could allign my car the inner and outer tie rod needed to be replaced. They said they were pretty bad and it needed to be done. They gave me a price estimate of over $400. I was hesitant because I really couldn't afford such a repair. Then he told me he could give it cheaper to me. He would only charge one and a half hour instead of two. So he came down to $363. This was still a lot of moeny what I had not expected. I told them that I like to wait and let my mechanic do the work because I knew it would be cheaper. I live in Utah so it was a long drive home but I wanted to take the risk. So I brought my car to my mechanic and he couldn't find anything wrong. I still needed to get my car alligned which my mechanic couldn't do, so I went to Big O Tires in my next town. I didn't tell them what the people in Boulder,CO said. I was wondering if they would find anything wrong. They allligned my tires and everything was fine. I asked them specifically about the tie rods, but they said that they were fine. I called the manager at their store and he appologizded and said that this is not their way of working. He told me whenever I am in town I could come and get my tie rods checked and if they are fine, they will refund my allignment. Later I went on line just to check to see what kind of reviews this place had and I saw people had similar experiences like me. So I know I will never put my foot in this shop. They are only thinking of money and are taking advantage with women. Stay away from this shop!!!! more

I get my oil here on occasion. They give me full diagnostics with price estimates, and treat me like I'm retarded, but they can change oil. more

2nd bad experience in two weeks. My friend took his car in to get a wheel bearing replaced. They talked him into replacing struts. The car was fine, didn't need anything besides a new wheel bearing. They charged him $800 extra for crap he didn't need. more

I went to Big O to get new tires and an oil change, I happened to come to there buy 3 get 1 free sale which turned out to be a great deal and I spent $200 less then I was planning to. Everyone at the front was courteous and answered all of my questions that I had, they took the time to walk around the store with me and help me find what I needed. Dan at the front was very friendly and even cut me a deal for being a C.U. student. Highly recommended!! Pros: great service Cons: none more

I originally went to Big O after finding that they had the cheapest tire that fits my SUV in the area. Upon trying to buy the tire, they tried to upsell me to a SUV tire ranging in the price range of well over $175 each (over the $50 tire) claiming that my SUV couldn't run well on passenger car tires. After explaining to them that A.) I have passenger car tires on my car, and B.) I have worked in an auto body / repair shop owned by a family member since I was 5 until I went to college, and I know what I want for a tire, they finally sold me two. I had to get tires for my daughter who is going to C.U. I live in California and did not know what to do. I called Big O tires in Boulder and talked to Dan. He worked out a great price over the phone and set up an appointment so she could get the work done the same afternoon. Not only was he really friendly, but he also gave me a discount because my daugher is a C.U. student. I really appreciated the great service and now I have a honest place to send my daughter too for all her car needs. Pros: Helped my college student more

The guys at Big O in Boulder are great, I have been going there for years. I went in for brakes, they gave me a great deal and were really friendly. They inspected my whole car for free and they gave me a ride to work. I can not believe how great the customer service was, it is hard to find that level of customer service now a days. I took my car to Big O tires in Boulder because I had a flat tire. I had not bought anything there before and they fixed my tire for FREE. They also inspected my car as well. I need to have my brakes done so I scheduled an appointment and I went back the following week and had my front brakes replaced. The price wes great and they did a great job. They even gave me a ride back to work. I am a woman and they treated me with respect and explained everything to me. It started out with my request to replace shocks. I asked took them an estimate from a place down the street and asked if they could beat it. The guy I spoke with wouldn't look me in the eye but said "You want me to cut their throat? I will." I should've walked away with that shadiness. In the two hours I spent there, I witnessed five women being "upsold," as well as several issues with mistakes on charges. One woman came in for tires, and then was told her car had no oil in it -- even though she just had the oil changed at the dealership. They added oil, only to forget to place the oil cap back on engine, causing warning lights to go off. Another woman said she was told she need some part replaced, and what a coincidence! It was on special. She didn't have the money, so she didn't replace it, but witnessed the service men giving the same story to three other women. Another college girl came in for an oil change and was given a huge list of "problems" with her car. She ended up getting four tires, too. Women seem to be gullible targets at this shop. more
