One of the best Indian restaurant in North Jersey 5/14/2011

One of the best Indian restaurant in North Jersey. Staff provides excellent service without going over the top. Owner personnaly delivered free nan and a carrot desert to die for. Not the cheapest but certainly great value. Heads and shoulders above the couple of indian restaurants located in our town (Ridgewood, NJ). more

Great Food, Attentive Service 12/14/2010

I have been to Bhoj Indian Restaurant several times in the past few months and love it. I always get quality food and great service. I'm a vegan and can always find options for both myself, and my non-vegan counterparts. I loved it so much, I wrote a review for Yahoo!. Search Yahoo! I have been to Bhoj Indian restaurant since 4 years, and its still the same. Good service, excellent food. The food quality is so good that i take my friends and familyto bhoj bcoz i know they will be taken good care of ! I wish i could rate, 100 stars!!! more

The Best Indian Food in NJ! 12/24/2009

I am a big fan of Indian Food. I visit several Indian restaurants regularly, depending upon where I am working, and Bhoj is absolutely the best Indian food I have ever eaten. If I am in north jersey, I always choose Bhoj, both for the lunch buffet and for dinner. The difference between Bhoj and other Indian restaurants lies within the depth of flavor, care of preparation, and quality of ingredients. Instead of just shocking the customer with overwhelming amounts of spice, the chefs at Bhoj carefully build a rich depth of flavor that is simply sublime. The lunch buffet is exquisitely prepared, well-varied, and impeccably clean. The service is, at all times, polite, professional, friendly, and swift. Pros: Food, Service, Price more

Best Indian Food Ever! And Great Service Too! 7/29/2009

I am so lucky this place is in NJ instead of NY (where I live) or else I would eat there every night and become HUGE because everything they serve is so good. I go with my boyfriend about twice a month and we practically lick our plates clean! And the most impressive thing about this restaurant is that every dish we've tried has been delicious! And don't let the strip mall facade deter you...behind that door lies a warm welcome and a restaurant full of happy diners (mostly Indian), enjoying a great meal. BYOB and the nice wait staff is always happy and quick to pour. Worth the trip to Elmwood Park, for sure! Pros: everything on the menu, the owners and wait staff more

Hidden Jewel... 11/20/2008

My husband and I have tried all Indian restaurants around, and we just cannot find any that compare to Bhoj. We've come back with all of our friends, and they feel the same, as if they have discovered a little jewel. The owners make you feel right at home, and make sure that you get the right heat for your dish. In my case mild has the right ""kick"", but my husband always requests his ""Sonny Special"" hot. We've brought friends who have never experienced Indian food, and they have become regulars. We especially like the eggplant and okra as side dishes, and the garlic naan and paranta breads. more

One of the best Indian restaurant with good service 3/28/2008

Bhoj serves one of the finest quality food in the area. I tried this restaurant after a strong recommendation from a friend and has been a fan ever since. We had catered from bhoj several times including the catering to the hospital for lunches. The restaurant owner personally took care of our order and went out of the way to make sure he provided all the service needed. I found most indian restarants poor in customer satisfaction but bhoj clearly exceeded all the expections. The food was loved by the whole team and bhoj became a #1 choice for Indian food. I had catered from bhoj several home parties and it made our party very successful.\r \r Their Gobi Manchurian, Katti Roll and Samosa are my favorite appetizer with mango lassi. I have tried all the vegetarian dishes and was very happy with all. The Paneer is fresh and soft and food made to your taste(mild, medium, spicy, very spicy). I heard their non-vegetarian items are even better. Mouth watering gulab jamun, gajar halwa and kheer are the best for dessert and don't forget the masala tea. \r \r This restaurant had become our favorite place to take the guests for special occasions. The restaurant looks very small from outside but don't judge the book by the cover. The service is excellent and so is food. Pros: Excellent food and service Cons: The looks from outside is not so grand more

Great restaurant in an unsuspecting place 11/11/2007

I work in New York and my favority cuisine by far is Indian.. even though I am Polish. I've been to tons of Indian restaurants in NY. Any one working in the city can attest to how many there are. My wife was in the mood for Indian one evening and after doing a quick search online, I came upon Bhoj, which is half a mile from where we live.\r \r We have to admit that we had our doubts when we saw that the restaurant was in a strip mall. Once we looked inside, we saw that the decor was great and the atmosphere is very nice.\r \r We ordered a salad and samosas. From the first taste of the apps, we knew we were in for a treat. The our entrees came out and it was was a taste explosion. The food had so much flavor. I was immediately impressed by how tasty and spicy it was. It was a little bit hotter than medium but not Vindaloo hot. Needless to say, we stuffed ourselves. The desserts were great as well.\r \r The proprietor Sunny comes around to greet everyone that steps into the door. He treats everyone very well, almost like family. Since our first night there, we've been there every weekend. The service has been great each time we've been there as well as the food.\r \r I recommend the restaurant to all my friends that live in the area. If you are a fan of Indian, don't hesistate! Go to Bhoj! Pros: Excellent food, great atmosphere, friendly service Cons: The restaurant may put people off because it's in a strip mall more

Great Indian Food, Excellent Staff and Service, and Newly Updated Atmosphere 11/11/2007

I have been a guest of the Bhoj Restaurant for a few years now, and have always had an enjoyable dining experience. The staff is very attentative and efficient. The food is prepared fresh, and always to order. The restaurant has recently updated their atmosphere, including the decor, tableware and utensils. Very modern and sophisticated. I highly recommend this restaurant even to the toughest critiques!!!! more

\r I simply love food from Bhoj, especially the lamb saag. Its delicious and well cooked unlike other places where it is under cooked.Bhoj is a great family restaurant, neat clean with a warm ambience. One feels well taken care of by the staff there. The food portions are excellent and one sees more paneer in paneer saag than the saag itself. What more can one ask for?Go ahead and try their buffet for lunch or drop in for dinner\r soon more

Best Indian Food in Bergen County! 10/25/2007

I have visited Bhoj many time but never got chance to write about it . Let me start with their greetings. As you walk in the door you are welcomed by a very big smile and full attention, as if you are a very import guest for them no matter how busy they are. Food is excellent. We usually order lamb sag , and butter Chicken and each time the quality is better than before. ? Their portions are very large compare to other restaurant. I forgot about Biryani , It?s mind blowing . And there is always someone to ask if everything is Ok ? Or if we want something else ? Come-on where can you get a service which can make you feel at home and Valuable ? It?s very nice and neat I think if you wants to eat Indian Food Then Go to Bhoj , You will never regret. Pros: thumbs up Cons: thumbs up more

Best Indian food around Hackensack, Bergen county 2/9/2007

One of the best desi restaurants in the vicinity. No need to go to Jersey city for desi food.. The service is awesome.. they really take care of you. I've seen maximum number of non-Indian people in this restaurant as well. Their Chicken korma, butter chicken and lamb are very authentic and tasteful. Mr. Chadha is a great host, very friendly, makes you feel welcome and comfortable. They just celebrated 4 years in business.. way to go !!! more

Best Indian Food in Northern New Jersey 2/2/2007

This cozy resturant has the best Indian food in northern New Jersey. The chef is very accomodating and the service is fantastic. They really make you feel at home. The menu is very diverse so you can take people that are wary about trying new foods. Its BYOB, but they do have mango lassi's which I highly recommed. I would suggest making reservations on the weekend especially if you eat later than 7:00. They also have a great buffet for lunch all week. And added treats for the weekend buffet. I have been going to this resturant for 4 years and have yet to have a bad experience. Pros: great food good service more

Great indian food 12/10/2006

Food - excellent indian food \r Service - quick and good service\r Ambiance - good for a small or a large group\r \r It was our first time at Bhoj, and we really did not know what to expect. But to say the least, we were not disappointred and this was the 1st of many more visits. The kati roll is good but greasy. The biryani is excellent!! We did not have the south indian food. For dessert, be sure to try the gulab jamuns, they were delicious, and would just melt in the mouth. more

Fresh and tasty Indian 11/4/2006

Just had dinner at Bhoj tonight and food was delicious and fresh. My only complaint was that I had to get the waiter's attention a few times to get more water and hot sauce. Other than that it was good, don't be fool by the exterior. more

Hidden Gem in Elmwood Park 3/9/2006

Located in a small strip mall on Market Street, Bhoj Indian Restaurant is a short ride from Rt. 80. It is a wonderful option to sitting in the daily rush hour traffic. The food has been consistently great. Their chicken tikka masala is the best I have had in northen New Jersey. The chicken pieces are very large cubes of white meat and the sauce is thick, rich and flavorful. The basmati rice is also perfectly cooked and fragrant. Very good garlic naan too. You owe it to your self to try Bhoj if you like Indian cuisine. If you have never had Indian food, but might like to try it, this is the place to go. more
