Excellent and caring doctor 5/3/2012

Dr Berry has been my doctor for years and I have always found her to be a very caring and excellent doctor. Her great staff is very helpful in making sure the glasses you pick fit your medical needs, lifestyle and look great on you. Berry Eye Care has a great selection of stylish frames and you don't see your frames on other people where ever you go. I am constantly being asked where I got my glasses! I trust Dr Berry with my eyes and more importantly I trust her with my children's eyes. more

Awesome experience always!!!! 5/2/2012

Great experience!! Dr. Berry has helped me find the contacts that fit me well and I have at least 5 pairs of glasses from her office. I have a very small face so it is difficult for me to find classes that are fashionable but she has a great selection of frames for the small frame! I have a pair in just about every color and always get compliments. Dr. Berry takes her time to make sure that I get exactly what I need and I appreicate her caring way. The tips that she gives me are invaluable. If you are searching for a great eye doctor then you should check her out! You will have a great experience!! Her office is so convienent to everything in Green Hills! Love it!! more

Dr. Berry and her staff recently took a great deal of time to help me be fitted with glasses for reading music. I am happy to report that all the blurry notes are gone! My new glasses are fantastic. The notes are crystal clear even in poor lighting. Fitting me with the right prescription, due to astigmatism, took extra time. The staff was also very attentive and patient throughout the process. I highly recommend this office. I am very grateful for all the time and effort that they spent helping me. more

The Best Eye Doctor 12/9/2011

My husband and I came to Doctor Berry for a routine eye exam. She and her staff were absolutely wonderful! Dr. Berry discovered that my husband had a cataract, in his left eye. She referred us to an ophthalmologist who also believed that the cataract should be removed. We thank Dr. Berry for my husband?s 20/20 vision. If it was not for her, he would have no idea what he was missing. She is a great doctor, and she has a really magnificent staff. more

My Eye Doctor for 15 Years 10/30/2011

When I first moved to Nashville in 1995, I went to LensCrafters and met Dr. Berry because they had a great coupon at the time (and I was fresh out of school and needed both contacts and glasses from having put them off). About a year later, desiring to spend more time with her patients, Dr. Berry went out on her own. I followed her (even though it meant a drive across town) and have always been glad that I did. more

Great Eye Doctor in Nashville 10/30/2011

I was recommended to her by a good friend that she had helped. I needed someone who would spend some serious time with me to help me through some difficulties i was having and give me ideas how to solve some problems. She was able to help in a big way and point me to some ways I could improve my problem I was having with dry eyes. She is the only eye doctor I will recommend in Nashville Thanks for your care and service to me more

Great Eye Doctor and wonderful staff! 10/27/2011

I have been using Dr. Berry for a while and my exams have great. Never felt like I was rushed in and out like other places. She discovered the beginning of cataract because she took the time to do some additional testing....THANKS! I can now help slow the onset of this. Everywhere I go, people compliment me on my glasses her staff helped me to pick out - without their help I would be clueless!!!!! Thanks for your great care and service. Great Experience 10/18/2011

I recently took my daughter to see Dr Berry for an exam & contacts. Having a child with such a strong prescription, I have always felt that most places we have been to have rushed us in & out without taking the time to discuss her progress. Dr Berry was so kind & it was very comforting knowing I left her office with answers to all of my questions. Her staff was very kind to help us with contacts & picking out a super cute frame. We will definitely be back! Oh & an added bonus more

Over treat patients to increase revenue 9/19/2011

I went here for a simple contact fitting. After one week in my contacts, they still did not feel right so I called to see if they would see me again and if so, how much the fee would be. I went back one week later and Dr. Berry herself made sure to perform multiple unnecessary procedures because she was under the impreession my health insurance would pay for it. The best example is she took unnecessary pictures of both of my eyes with her expensive camera without first asking me and without telling me what the charge would be. This is a critical time for many people. Unfortunately this is what is wrong with our health care system, providers are overcharging to make a buck. Whether my insurance had paid or not, these costly procedures just added up to someone's bottom line. In this case mine. more

A Professional, Expert and Artist 6/26/2011

Having just recently been diagnosed with Dry Eye Syndrome, Dr.Amanda Berry has meticulously implemented a personal wellness eye care plan for me to mimimize this condition. It was necessary for me to have punctal plugs inserted into the teeny tiny tear ducts of my eyes, and it was at that very moment that I recognized her surgical skills and artistic ability as she worked delicately and with finess. Her skill and precision during the installation of these plugs truly made me realize I was in the right place, at the right time. To assist her, there is an extremely helpful, accomodating and courteous staff, creating a great office environment, and one I trust. I highly recommend Berry Eye Care for personal and family eye care. more

Most conscientious doctor 6/22/2011

Dr. Berry is the most conscientious, honest, ethical, and meticulous doctor I have seen. She truly CARES that her patients receive the highest quality of care and that their vision is a top priority, followed by their comfort. This is evident from the convenient location to the pleasant office, to the thorough exams, followed by custom fittings. Nashville is lucky to have her and I hope she stays as long as I am here! more

UNETHICAL EXPERIENCE 4/14/2011

I had the worst experience ever at Berry Optical. I have been wearing the same brand of contacts for 8 years. Dr. Berry convinced me to change brands, saying she has seen patients have problems with the brand I wear. Fine. I followed her advice and went along with the brand she recommended, thinking she is an experienced professional. The new contacts were uncomfortable, so I went back. During my second visit she casually mentions that the contacts she prescribed me were new on the market and she was trying to see if people like them. I did not sign up to be her research subject! I had assumed that she had a good reason for getting me to change. more

Outstanding 5/26/2010

I have gone to Dr. Berry for years, and I have always received excellent service from her and her staff. The costs may be a little higher than some chain optical store, but it is well worth it for the outstanding service you receive. You may be able to save a fews bucks at Walmart but wait until you need something outside of the norm and see what you get. In the end you get what you pay for I get the best service in town for me and my family. Pros: Quality of Service, confidence in the care you recieve more

Exceptional experience! 5/26/2010

These days it seems I rarely leave a doctor's office impressed with my experience, but my recent visit to Berry Eye Care was great! The office enviornment is professional yet cool & hip - just a fun place to be. Dr. Berry's eye exam was most impressive. Not only was the exam very detailed, but Dr. Berry has digital technology that actually helped me see on a monitor what she was telling me about. I left with a greater understanding of my vision challenges. Thank you Berry Eye Care for bringing quality eye care to Green Hills! Pros: Excellent care - great location - fun environment more

Make sure you have good insurance! 5/14/2010

I'm a graduate student and my insurance is pretty bottom-shelf. All I wanted to do was get a prescription for contact lenses. I went in for one visit. I didn't ask for anything extra. I thought it was all very routine. It ended up with a total bill of $350 for the one visit, where my insurance covered $100. I went back for a couple subsequent visits -- thinking that I had paid for everything up front -- and my bank account is seriously hurting. I did a Google search and the first answer for ""how much an uninsured eye appointment cost"" was about $80, about a quarter of what I paid after my insurance. If you have good insurance, the staff is professional, the office is clean and the equipment looks very new. Dr. Berry seems well qualified and personable. They have free donuts as well. The other con is wait time. I only had a problem 1 out of the 3 or 4 times I went. But I put in contact lenses ~1 minute, got checked, ~3-5 minutes, and was there for over an hour. But, like I said, 1 in 3 visits is not bad at all. Pros: good staff, professional Cons: expensive, occasional wait time more

Eye care with fun and style! 2/23/2009

Dr. Berry is wonderful. She is very thorough in the care that she gives and also takes time to greet her patients personably. I have enjoyed going to her for many years. Dr. Berry takes time to make sure that I understand what she is doing while doing the examination. She also very carefully explains what steps need to be taken to improve my eye care and sight. Dr. Berry has also allowed me to try various contact lenses until we got the prescription exactly right. I have fun every time I see Dr. Berry because she makes me laugh and enjoy the visit. Her staff is very professional, as well as fun and easy to work with. Check out the cool '60's retro furniture in her office. Pros: Relaxed atmosphere. Staff will make sure you are taken care of. more

I emphatically recommend Berry Eye Care and Optical! Dr. Berry has been my family's optometrist for over 17 years, and has always done an outstanding job. Her thoroughness, professionalism, attentiveness and especially her devotion to the health of our eyes is always appreciated. She combines these wonderful clinical traits with a kind and compassionate demeanor that goes above and beyond what is required. This well-rounded approach to her craft is duplicated by her staff as well, who have never failed to be as gracious and top-notch as she is. Best Eye Care/Doctor 11/26/2007

Having Diabetes for over 30 years, I've had many eye exams and treatments...Dr. Berry tops the chart. She and her staff are professional yet personal. Clinical yet caring. Attentive to detail and also to the individual needs of her patients. I even have Dr. Berry to thank for the successful treatment of a brain tumor as she was the first to observe the minor yet threatening symptoms in an annual checkup. Needless to say, I recommend her highly! more

Excellent service with true professionalism!!! 3/14/2006

Dr. Berry is an excellent optometrist! She's been my doctor, as well as my husband's doctor, for years and I can honestly say that I would never think about seeing anyone else. I am so comfortable with her service that I even take my young son to see her. He loves Dr. Berry. The place is very kid-friendly. I would also like to mention that the wait has never been very long, the staff are always courteous and greet you with a smile, the price of service is reasonable, and the frame selection is outstanding.
