Belquest Kennels

As a warning you should avoid purchasing a puppy from this breeder. She has no integrity and is completely unaccountable. In our situation she sold us a puppy without telling us: 1) His testicles hadn't descended 2) MUCH more seriously, one that was diagnosed with bi-later OCD in his elbows by 8 months - a genetic disorder. Vicky refused to admit any guilt, not even an ""I'm sorry for your situation."" It has cost us $3000 to have his elbows fixed. We took him to two different orthopedic specialists, both of which said it was absolutely genetic. Unfortunately, I never searched for reviews for her. As many reviewers have already posted, our situation is not unique. Our red flag was when we purchased the puppy, the sales woman told us that they don't give health guarantees because too many owners were coming back with complaints that weren't their fault... sure. Listen to the AKC advice and only purchase a puppy from a breeder with a health guarantee. The most horrible thing I've read about Vicky has to be these folks situation 5000dollardeaddog. I would never use Belquest kennels again. I had a female labrador taken there to be bred with one of their stud dogs and the breeding didn't take. I don't even think my dog was bred because I never had a problem breeding her before. Secondly, they did not honor the rebreed per their contract. Thirdly, they bathed and groomed my dog which i did not ask for and charged me for the grooming. I refused to pay and the staff was very nasty discussing my dispute. more

Great training facility!! I noticed that the dumpster was at the end of the building near the training field, and on a hot day I'm sure it smells!! Dogs do poop, and this is a BOARDING kennel ;) Wonderful facility overall, I highly recommend! more

Wonderful cat room!!!! Very cute and comfy looking, I felt very safe leaving my cat here! Staff was very caring and polite! more

I had my dog groomed there and she had her nails clipped extremely short which caused a horrible infection and $. They were contacted and took no responsibility. My friend had his dog groomed and had a cut in his ear which became infected$$. Again they take no responsibility. Obvious the injury was from the grooming. The training with Ethan is great, but there was a terrible smell from feces. I don't know where it was coming from. No boarding for me. more

5 star all the way! Beautiful place, wonderful & very knowledgeable staff. We would never go anywhere else! Our dogs love it! The cat area is marvelous. The grooming is superior. more

I hope that people use their common sense when they read this site. It is obvious to me,as a layperson, that these negative reviews about Belquest followed by rave reviews on the Country Kennels, are blatantly written by owners or staff of CK to take potential clients away from Belquest. How do I know this? Because I too, did my research. I called the Humane Society and animal control and there was nothing negative reported. I dropped in on Belquest with no notice and told them that I would like to see the interior of the kennel where my dog would be staying and was graciously shown the facilities and found them to be very clean , with the dogs having plenty of water, a cot, and a clean, spacious area of confinement. The people are very friendly, and professional in their knowledge and helpfulness. The facilities are clean. I bought my Black Lab from them and she is the best dog ever! We have taken dog training classes there and have been very pleased with the instructor, Eth more

I've boarded my 8 yr old Standard Poodle and 15 yr. old Beagle at Belquest for the past 8 years. When I ask my dogs if they want to go Camp they run to the door!I feel that my dogs are treated as family members and have the BEST of care at all times. In addition to Boarding my dogs are groomed to perfection by the Award Winning groomers on staff.I've recommended at least 10 friends and neighbors and they all love Belquest!\r Cathi D more

Me and my sister and her new son all had a vacation at Belquest Kennels. I must say this is not been our first vacation here and will not be the last! We had a great time, they treated the whole family wonderful. We had a lot of exercise time and play time as well. It was very good that the whole family could stay in kennels next to each other, just like we can see and play with one another at home! I am so glad that my owner had done her homework and choose this kennel for our vacation. Thank you Vicki and staff. We hope to see you on our next vacation! more

They were not very friendly and would not let us walk the dogs back and see the kennel. They did not let my dogs have their own blankets. I ask many questions and they made feel like they were not listening or just did not care. My dog have 6 scabs on his ear. I do not think they are dog lovers. I would not ever board here again.I have boarded at many kennels in many places and this kennel is one place that made me feel creepy. more

Everyone there was very nice, the place was very clean. I saw a young boy and a lady my age walking the dogs. There was also a big play yard with a few dogs playing having a good old time. I saw some of the other reviews and I felt I needed to say what I saw first hand. Diamond (my dog) was happy and though I was worried about leaving her since she was on medication, she recieved all her meds. I called while I was gone to check on her and the staff had no trouble checking in on her. I have friends that also board their dogs there and I will ask all of them to add their experiences on hrere. I hate to see hard working people get knocked this way. I had to board my boston terrier last minute over Thanksgiving. I felt awful when I left her there, it smelled terrible and it was so over crowded. I picked up my housebroken dog @ 11am and she almost when to the bathroom on the floor, it was clear no one had taken her out yet. She didn't eat for a couple of days after she got home. I have boarded her before at a local vet and she always ate. My dog may be a little spoiled, but I was not satisfied with her care. more

I was very impressed how knowledgeable the kennel is. I feel comfortable leaving my dog in their care as I know the dog will be treated well and have the expertise of a very knowledgeable owner and staff. I take my dog there often for grooming. They do an excellant job and always find time to answer my questions. more

This place is dirty. I took my dog there to get groomed. I don't know what happened there but when I pulled out her brush at home she ran. I was planning on leaving my dogs there while on vacation but when I saw the kennel, it smelled and was cold. I could not leave my dogs there and feel comfortable. more
