We moved away from the Woodbridge area months ago, but we've found no other Mexican restaurant that serves excellent food with huge portions like Beana's. Great, friendly staff and owners grateful for your business. Colorful, fun atmosphere just adds to the already inviting appeal of this unique eatery. Try the tequila sunrise chicken..its delicious! more

One of he best Mexican Restaurants I ever went too. The food is excellent they even have hamburgers and ribs if you dont like Mexian food. The service is great unless they are really packed then it is a little slow but so is other places that get packed. The best to do is call for a reservation and they will reserve your seat. During the week it is charming to be there less noisy and more romantic. The Mexican charm is brought right into your hearts. It is an eldely place that is kept very clean and the atmosphere is so pleasant. Children are treated like Princess and Princes. each one walks out with a toy of some sort. ICE is OUTRAGEOUS THERE OMG THE BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WORLD . IF YOU want to just go there for Ice cream you can do that too. BYOB meaning bring your own booze I take my wine and my hubby brings his beer. It is party time at Beanas Bring your friends for a fun time and sit back and kick up your feet relax and let the cooking be done by a bunch of wonderful Mexican cooks. The owners are Irish and treat you with total respect and charm. Gifts Certificates Available Reservations Accepted Home News Tribune Family Friendly Private Parties BYOB I had many parties here Birthday, kindergarden graduation, Anniverisary parties as well. In the mood for a good time look no further and great food. more

At first view this tiny restaurant is a tad daunting; Im not sure if it's the large aluminum cactus out front or the collection of knick knacks accentuated by strings of holiday light. Once inside you are seated at large wooden tables surrounded by a mish mosh of chairs; on the upside you can choose whatever style you find comfortable. This family run business serves up hearty servings of authentic Mexican fare while providing a family friendly atmosphere complete with a childrens play corner. Give them a try; it's a great experience. more

Wow??? Ive been hearing alot about this place. I ate there this past Sat after finding out it had a change of hands now being called Beana's Para Siempre. The new owners are great and you can tell the diffrence in the food and their lowered prices. I had sirlion flautas ( a truly great Mex. dish ) and It was the best I ever had. It's hard these days to find a place that takes time to truly car for their customers. more

Mexican food at a great price! This restaurant welcomes families with children and has a laid back fun atmosphere that everyone can enjoy. Portions are huge and perfectly prepared, and many items aimed at a childs tastes. Non-alcohol drinks, but you can bring your own. Leave room for dessert. Lunch specials. more

I have no idea what Jane was talking about, I loved it. I went with my family to celebrate my brother's birthday, and not only was the food great, but the service was excellent, the decorations and different chairs maid it easier to loosen up and gave the place a happier, free aura. more

Its always a nice treat to stay away from the big corporate restaurants. This place is small, local restaurant, with super friendly wait staff, and huge portions. more

Beana's Mexican Restuarant(Rahway, NJ) is a small restuarant located on the main street of St. George's Ave. It is a joyful and comfortable environment to eat in. Every aspect of creativity is captured on the walls, ceiling, and tables to observe while awaiting for the delicious food they serve. The menu is as common as other Mexican eatery's, however, the taste is unbeatable. They do not serve alcohol, oddly you can bring your own beverages from outside. The service is great. This place is one to definitely to check out. So come early because it is a popular place to chow down! more

Besides good food, besides good value, the owner really loves kids. He usually has little gifts for them, and there's a little table in the back where they can play or color to keep busy. Personally, I love the taquitos, and the chorizo. more

A great place to eat Mexican and take the family. I have been going to this place for a long time now but just recently had one of the best times of my life. It was my daughters 5th birthday and she wanted to go to beana's (she has been going since she was in her moms bell.) They have a little kids area which gives her and her little brother a place to play and color while my wife and I could enjoy our wonderful meal. I just found out that they changed owners which only made things better. We had a mango cerviche and chipotle mussels for the App. and 2 huge dinners. It was about 2 days worth of food. The kids had chicken fingers, rice and beans. At the end of our meal the lights dimmed and to our surprise the owners and some of the staff came out singing happy birthday as the entire placer seemed to stop eating and joined together a lit candle on a fried ice cream (no charge) was placed in front of my daughters glimmering eyes and then she made her wish. Later she told me that she wished that me and mommy would take her back to Beana's Para Siempre. Can you put a price on that??? more

Don't understand the hate. I love this place very much. Yeah, the location looks like they could be a laundry mat, but I love the atmosphere. It's very tacky inside, but I find it very charming. The food is great, and I think it is a great place to bring a date. You can BYOB last I checked. It's nice to have a Mom and Pop place still goin strong with large abominations like Buffalo Wild Wings, Chilis, and Shannon Rose popping up everywhere now. You'll be sorry when they go out of business. more

A great place - ignore the previous review! 9/4/2011

Sometimes I wonder about these vehemently negative reviews - they smack of a rival restaurant sneakily trying to undermine it's competition. Anyway, I've been in Rahway for over 10 years and love going to Beana's. Aside from the delightful decor, I've always found the food to be very tasty and the service to be friendly and professional. Granted the prices are a bit high, but I find the experience of going there so much more pleasurable than most restaurants in the area - so I factor that in. I'm a former Manhattanite, and it's one of the few restaurants around that makes me feel as if I'm back in the city. more

Worst Mexican EVER! 4/11/2011

Saw this restaurant on NJN and had a wonderful review so waited until I was in the area to go- made a point of going here based on review- when we were seated (4/9/2011) several people left the packed restaurant- should have followed them! Decor was familiar - we used to go to Carlos O'Connor's often in Red Bank- and no surprise- the owners are relatives-but the similarity stopped at the decor! The service (provided by the owner's wife) was very slow- we waited 45 minutes after we ordered to get our food- prices are WAY over the top- out of line for the area and the food-one of the staff told us a cook had not come in so they were short handed- explained the wait but not the quality of the food - it was literally inedible- I got a bowl of chili for 6.95 ( appetizer size) that was simply ground beef mixed with taco seasoning and NO LIQUID-nice queso blanco melted on top but that was it-so dry it stuck to the roof of my mouth- seasoning was disgusting- how can you screw up chili? My husband ordered the burrito and enchilada for 19.95 (!!!!!!) both chicken- the enchilada came with no sauce- how do you prepare and serve an enchilada with no enchilada sauce? the chicken was cubed and tasted like it wasn't even chicken-mystery meat? I drained my hot tea and two glasses of water trying to eat it the few bites my husband kept making me try-again it was dry it was inedible- the beans and rice and the enchilada and burrito were cold- must have sat out waiting for someone to pick it up- during the meal another diner seating next to us in the small area became furious over her order and was saying things in Spanish that didn't sound complimentary- they left in a huff-in English she said ""Never again!"" several times it was obvious most of the diners were very unhappy with their service and food- don't understand why the NJN review was good and so many people were there? Are there so few TexMex restaurants in Rahway that diners must suffer here? We didn't even try to eat the burrito- took it home but even the dog wouldn't eat it so it went in the garbage- our bill was $40.00 for one appetizer and one entr?e - one soda and one hot tea- our server- again the owner's wife- overcharged for the tea- I checked it on the menu- insult to injury! I intend to let NJN know I will never follow any of their recommendations after this fiasco! My advice Stay away unless you are literally on the point of starvation and there is no other food available- Come to think of it- don't even bother then- Better to starve than eat here! more
