The WORST property management 7/14/2011

I have never had a worse rental experience than I did with Bayview. I moved out 2 months before my lease was up and I gave over a month notice that I was moving out and it is now over a month since I actually moved out and they still haven't rented the unit out so I'm stuck paying rent even though they should've had plenty of time to find a new tenant. They also charged me $50 for advertising costs but I have yet to see an advertisement for it anywhere. When I moved out I was STILL waiting on a work order to be completed. I followed up on a work order for a door to be fixed and my dishwasher to be replaced (which literally didn't work the whole 10 months I lived there) yet weeks later it still hadn't happened and on my final invoice I was charged $55 for ""move-out repairs"". I was an excellent tenant, always paid rent on time and was very quiet, but Bayview gave me a bad reference which ending up keeping me from getting another apartment until after I moved out. They told the screening company that they had served me legal notices and I had received written complaints when living at their property, neither of which was true. I went in to talk to them and get it cleared up but it took several phone calls after that before they resubmitted a corrected reference form which was accurate. I'm now having problems with a ridiculous amount of charges on my final invoice including a charge for $650 July rent when I have a bank statement showing the check I sent them in the amount of $650 cleared before July rent was due! I'nm not looking forward to the amount of effort it's going to take to straighten that out. The people who work in this office lack professional courtesy and communication. If you have a problem it will take forever to get resolved. They're terrible at returning calls etc. I would never rent through them again. more

they r biggest liars.very bad experince. 6/19/2011

dont do any business with this management.i was almost started crying because of their behaviour. They put ad on craigslist with different lease terms and when i went to see the unit,i was late for 4 minutes only (i know it was my fault),but the agent didnt wait for me and he left from location.I called their office and that girl said the agent is already left.I was in need of some place to live in city as i have to start job after two days and that unit was perfect(in my budget ,near to job and mon. to mon. lease).sO WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID THEY CANNT SCHEDULE ME UNTIL NEXT MIDWEEK AND WHEN I TOLD THEM I BROUGHT DEPOSIT WITH ME THEN THEY SAID GIVE US SOMETIME AND WILL CALL U BACK.MY MISTAKE WAS THAT I TOLD THEM I NEED SOME PLACE ,BECAUSE I AM STARTING MY JOB AFTER 2 DAYS.AND WHEN THEY CALLED BACK THEY SAID SOMEONE WILL COME TO SHOW YOUR THAT UNIT BUT NOW LEASE TERM WILL BE OF ONE YEAR.BETWEEN ALL THESE PHONE CALLS IT TOOK 2 HOURS AND MY 3 YRS. OLD KIDS EVEN THEY BECAME SO IRRITATED THAT ALL THIS MESS MADE ME CRY. more

Terrible experience 6/1/2011

Working with any property management company is frustrating, but Bayview is hands down the worst property management company I have ever had the horror of working with. The biggest grievance I had with them was that when my apartment got flees, and no we never had any animals in our apartment, Bayview demanded it was our responsibility to pay for extermination. After we found in the WA renters rights that it says the landlord is responsible for pests our property manager only yielded after a long phone conversation where she was very unprofessional. And to top it off the flees came back because the building was overcrowded with people. When it was time to move out, we cleaned the apartment until it was much cleaner that when we moved in, and we have pictures to prove it, but they still took 450 dollars of our 600 dollar deposit and said it was because the venetian blinds and stove were dirty. Look around, for ANYTHING, before you work with Bayview!! more

Do not rent with Bayview! 5/6/2011

We have been mistreated and abused at Bayview over the past year. We did not do our research before going with Bayview and we have paid the price for the past year. They have sent us three bills for things we should not have had to pay for. The first one we paid just to move on with our lives. The second and third we fought for months. Someone else piled garbage outside the garbage cans, and because it was on our side of the house, they decided to bill us (not notify us that this should be dealt with, but a nice fat bill). We had to fight it for months before the removed it. The third bill we went through BBB and ended up paying for half after months of emails and letters back and forth. During the whole experience they were unprofessional and rude. We were even hung up on multiple times. This morning, I woke up to no water in my unit. I called and they said 'oh yeah, they're doing maintenance in one of the other units' They didn't even have to ask anyone what was going on. I said isn't that something you're supposed to notify us about? She said ""yeah, sorry"". AVOID THEM! DO NOT RENT FROM BAYVIEW!!! more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY 11/20/2010

I have similar problems to the other reviewers and the only thing Bayview is good at is extortion. We have received multiple bills more than two months after any work was performed, charges labeled 'balance forward' which were never billed before, and the due date is the same date they put the bill in the mail so that by the time I received it it was late. We have been charged for routine maintenance and the simplest request is met with resistance from an unhelpful, unprofessional, and unethical staff combined with likely illegal business practices. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They have received an F from BBB for good reason. more

AVOID if you can 12/3/2009

The unit I rented it looked great at first until the cold months came around. Then all of a sudden I started having a massively bad mold problem. I called Bayview MANY times about this situation (there was mold all around the apartment and on my furniture--it was growing and spreading. Yuck!!) and they never seemed too concerned about it. Infuriating, because mold is a HEALTH HAZARD. And my unit had incredibly poor ventilation, with only two crummy windows in one corner that hardly offered any air. I had a humidity reader in the house and it *constantly* read at very high. Bayview did not to ANYTHING to fix the situation. But not only was the unit a nightmare, the property manager was too! The first one, Natalie, was decent enough. But when they changed me over to Rachel, that's when things noticeably started to go downhill. Not only was she completely rude to me, but she was rude to my mother too (the co-signer) over the phone. She also came by my apartment with prospective tenants WHILE I WAS GETTING DRESSED and had *never* called ahead. I could go on and on but basically they screwed me out of my deposit (the bastards, we worked incredibly hard to leave that place looking spotless-- it was dirtier when I first moved it!!), were rude to me repeatedly, and my god their PRICES are absolutely ridiculous. No grace period on paying rent, took forEVER to get back to me whenever I called (I called repeatedly and even left messages). Total pain in the ass. If you HAVE to rent from them, I strongly advise that you keep detailed accounts of all your interactions between you and them. DON'T be lazy about it. At one point during the mold fiasco I had begun to record conversations (you can do this with a cellphone) between the manager and i whenever we talked. DO NOT LET THEM BULLY YOU, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A STUDENT! Pros: I had a place to live in a decent location Cons: disrespectful, rude, EVIL. more

I'm glad to see that my family is not the only ones who thinks that BPM has substandard ethical business conduct. I think BBB would be my next step. more

Avoid them like the plague 2/11/2009

Bayview Property Management is the worst company I have ever worked with. Not only did it take them 8 months to respond to my maintenance requests (which were not even fulfilled) but our property manager Natalie Hugo is a terrible human being who looks to extort every last penny out of you and treats people like dirt, especially college students. Everyone at the office is unfriendly and unhelpful, they give no grace period for late payments. Money is due the first day of the month and a $30 late fee on top of it. They are absolutely awful, avoid them at all costs! They charged a $400 nonrefundable pet fee and on top of it charged an additional $450 on top when nothing had been ruined. They basically looked to recarpet the entire house at our expense when there was no damage. We also had the carpets professionally cleaned and they insist that they need to be recleaned at the price of $250 dollars. Pros: we had a place to live Cons: everything about that place to live, including our evil property manager more
