Basque Norte Restaurant is a family style kitchen that?s been around for over 35 years. I?ve always had a fine dining experience while visiting. Besides having fabulous customer service and good food, the rhythmic unique atmosphere is what defines this classic steak house. Located at the North end of Chico, You get the feel you?re in a time warp once you walk through the door, straight into the 1970?s. Whether you have a large party, or you?re on a date, this place has lots of room. It?s actually a commercial/apartment complex turned into mega restaurant. A friend and I recently stopped in for lunch, promptly seated in a booth. I ordered the 14oz Boneless Rib-Eye which was mouthwatering, the richness and texture was perfect. My guest ordered the 8oz. Petite New York, described as succulent and irresistible tasting, worthy of a culinary star. Our food arrived at the table, served fresh and sizzling hot, wait time was a little long, and prices reflect the quality of the meal. We received outstanding customer service which made the visit that much more enjoyable. So, If you?re up for a new dining experience, this fabulous specialty restaurant is very charming and worth a try. more

Flavor and balance of food worked perfect. Our group tried most of everything on the menu. No complaints all compliments...I was worried because I chose this restaurant and was thinking I was taking a chance , but wass I ever wrong. Aupa! This Basque restaurante is really one of kind. It's family style servings so order few plates for everyone to try. Their drinks are great and the service is amazing. The cost is a bit pricy since it's family style servings but it's well worth it. After studying in Spain the food is very much similar and authentic. Great service, people and amazing food. I was taken here once on a date and I thought that the ambience was very romantic and intimate. I wasn't as crazy about the food, though. My date was a huge fan on the other hand.
