I took a friend to the Basque Hotel for lunch this past Saturday. This was their first basque experience. We arrived early and only a few people were in the bar. After we got seated it looked as if all the usual suspects came in for lunch. We chose the lamb chops and pork chops for our main dish and ordered a half bottle of Burgundy. They brought out the bread and soup to start with. The soup was vegetables in broth. Iceberg Lettuce Salad and Potato Salad with shrimp followed. Next came a beef and mushroom dish, a garbanzo beans in a tomato sauce dish and our meat choice for the meal with garlic on top. All serving portions were on the larger side. The pork chops and lamb chops were on the thinner side and although I usually like my lamb medium rare, the overall quality of the meal for the price made me overlook this. Lastly, they brought us a scoop of ice scream for dessert. For the price ($13 each) you can't beat the amount of food. more

The fam. loves this place. It has really tasty food, considering most entrees are deep fried or grilled. The fried chicken seems to be pretty popular amongst my kin. I LOVE all the side dishes that come with your meal....fresh bread, hot soup, green salad, potato salad, and my personal favorite, the garbanzo beans in tomato sauce..... more

Hit the target! 5/13/2011

I have been eating here with family and friends for over 30 years. So it is not in the nicest part of town and not an upscale place but the food is great! The servers are not rude. Maybe they are not bouncy young airheads like you get in most Restaurants but they do their job and they bring you everything in a timely manner. You can have a bad experience at any Restaurant but that doesn't mean you don't try it again. Just relax and enjoy something different. It is worth it! And seriously the pricing is not that bad. I plan on going there this week. Can't wait!!! more

Delicious food and excellent service! Waitress was very nice. Made my whole family feel at home. Special charisma kept my niece and nephew entertained!! Also paid close attention to all of our drinks!! Definitely coming back again. more

Misinformation 12/26/2009

I had to correct some really misleading reviews. The 2 other reviews of this restaurant were obviously a coordinated and untrue attack on a very good restaurant. These same 2 individuals and other friends did the same thing on other review sites. Note the dates are one day apart. I've eaten at most Basque restaurants in California, Nevada, and Arizona, as well as Basque in Spain/France Pyrenees Mtns. This is authentic and a good representation of American/Basque cooking in a typical Basque surroundings. I would really give this place 4 stars but I decided to give it 5 in order to partially counter the vicious attacks of these mischief doers. Pros: Authentic Basque more

Bad Food...Bad Business 11/17/2008

We went here for my sister's birthday and had the worst dining experience ever! All of our steaks were over cooked. One of our family members sent their steak back wanting a medium rare steak... and it came back RAW! Barely seared on both sides RAW! When he refused it and told them he did not want it anymore, the owners wife told us no, we had to pay for it and to never come back. Apparently it was our fault the chef doesn't know how to cook steaks. So then the owner came out calling all of us pieces of sh*t and telling us to get out. He put his hands on my sister's face and shook her head. Yes... he... the owner... assaulted her! So we paid our $194 bill and called the cops. It is amazing to me why this restaurant is still open. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! Don't waste your money... more
