Located in an 1800's mansion high on a hill, this Mexican restaurant has a fabulous atmosphere. All the food is homemade and authentic Mexican. Carry out and gift certificates are available. more

Best Mexican food in the world, Great atmosphere, Great staff and people 2/23/2008

Barbosa's is the best place to eat for Mexican food. It is tottally awesome! Everytime I come back home, I have to make sure that I have time in my travel to stop in and have lunch and or supper there. I really wish that I had a place where I live now that would be just as great. But there are not any other restaurants here that even come close to Barbosa's. Just wish they would think of opening in New Smyrna Beach, FL, this town could use a GREAT MEXICAN RESTAURANT. Believe me! Oh! By the way have been eating there since 1976. Overview 3/7/2003

This is not Tex mex food. Instead of corn chips they use flowered (and they are good). Seems Americanized but is actually authentic from their region of Mexico. 2 locations...Definitely eat at Downtown location, in historic home great atmosphere. Pros: Not tex mex, Inexpensive, In old historic home Cons: not tex mex more

  • Barbosa's Castillo is a full-service, family-owned and operated restaurant that specializes in Mexican-style cuisine. Its menu includes tacos, ground beef and shredded chicken. The restaurant additionally serves lime, strawberry and mucho margaritas. Barbosa's Castillo hosts several events, such as anniversaries, wedding rehearsals, and formal and informal gatherings. Located in St. Joseph, Mo., it has been operational for more than 30 years.
