This is at least my 5th stay at this Inn and feel like I am at home every time I stay. Joe and Bebe are always extremely friendly and accommodating. They always seem to get us reservations at all of the New Orleans favorites such as Commanders Palace, Upperline, and Emerils. I can't wait to go back. more

Spent 8 nights at this B&B. Extremely clean wonderful room. Entire staff was very friendly and helpful taking care of us and in making restaurant reservations. They let us know what to order and even gave us ""little secrets"" that were very beneficial. Definitely coming back. more

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast on Beautiful Saint Charles Avenue! Stunning 1891 restored mansion with lovely rooms and common areas. Very convenient location right along the trolley line provided quick and fun access to the action. Joe and Bebe were so helpful on our first trip to New Orleans. They were able to get us tickets to all the attractions we wanted to see. more

This is great place to stay. Joe and Bebe are fantastic. \r Joe knows all the places to eat. But make sure you write them down, so many to remember. I recommend the Oak Alley and Laura plantation tour and the Beignets are just as good next door as at Cafe Dumont. \r Joe makes the most amazing different cake every morning for breakfast beware they are addictive. more

For those of us who don?t live in one of those beautiful mansions on St. Charles Ave. this is your opportunity to experience the grandeur of southern living. The rooms with their high ceilings and huge windows overlook the streetcar line. Homemade breads are baked fresh daily for breakfast and there are many restaurants and bars in the surrounding area. \r \r Staying at the Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast gives you a completely different New Orleans experience. It is one of culture and elegance in the Uptown/Garden District. It may be a short cab or streetcar ride the French Quarter but it feels like you are in another city. more

Stayed around Mardi Gras time in April. Convenient location with history behind the B&B, everything needed for our stay including a comfortable feel from the porch to the dining area to the room, owners very friendly & knowledgeable, and recommend to stay. more

Found the Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast after an internet search and what a find! Had an amazing stay and all the tips from the inn keepers were great. We had a great time and look forward to many more. From the first phone call to the days spent at the Inn, both Joe and Bebe were fantastic to deal with. Call and get ready to to enjoy your stay! more

I have stayed at several B&Bs over the years, but none can come close to this one. It is a beautiful home. This house is over 200 years old but is very well maintained. I have the room off the porch. It had a king size, four post bed. The ceiling, I?m guessing were at least twelve feet high. Hard wood floor and a chandelier. All the furniture were antique. Amazing.\r Joe asked me when we first met what brought to New Orleans. I told him it was for the food. I live in Alaska and no where can I find Cajun food. I am from Texas and used to go to New Orleans all the time. I started missing the food so much, I decided to go back. Joe proceeded to give me a map and marked all the restaurants he thought I would enjoy. I visited all he suggested, some more than once, and he was right, they were great.\r The inn is located in St. Charles Street, so all I had to do was hop on the trolley and pretty much go where ever I wanted to go.\r This inn is located in the Garden District filled with many great homes. Taking the trolley one way would let you see the rest of the Garden District, and a 15 minute ride in the other direction would get you to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. It is a great location to be in New Orleans.\r Joe has all the tour and tourist brochures and is able to book most of them for you. Like I said, I have visited New Orleans many times so I have done all the tours I was interested in but he did book me a city tour. They will pick you up right there, which makes it easy.\r Joe and Bebe have a lot of tricks and secrets they tell you to help you enjoy your activity to the fullest.\r To sum it up, staying at the Avenue Inn was one of the best experience I have ever had on vacation. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants experience what a real Bed and Breakfast is really like.\r Thank you Joe and Bebe! more

What a great B&B in a lovely part of New Orleans! We loved having somewhere safe to stay away from the craziness of the French Quarter. Avenue Inn B&B is clean, quiet and comfortable. Joe and BeBe go out of their way to accommodate their guests. Breakfast is continental so there is no pressure to be in the dining room at a certain time. There is a lovely patio in the front to enjoy your meal. Joe knows all the best places to go in NOLA and will help you book tours. Staying here is much better than a hotel and they go above and beyond in helping their guests. 5 stars! more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast for four nights in the beginning of March. We wanted to stay away from the French Quarter but have easy access to it. The Inn was perfect for us - in a lovely, quiet neighborhood and easy to reach everywhere else in the city. We were conveniently able to stroll down Magazine Street and all through the Garden District from there. Joe and Bebe made us feel at home immediately, welcoming us with warm cookies and a great sense of humor. They're very knowledgeable about the local restaurant scene and happy to give recommendations. \r \r We stayed in the king room (Joe calls it the ""Mardi Gras"" room because it looks onto St. Charles). It has its own private entrance on the porch, a comfortable bed, and big windows that let in lots of good natural light. It?s very quiet despite being in the front of the house. It rained for much of our trip so we had a nice ritual of waking up late and getting a beignet breakfast at the coffee shop next door. We enjoyed having our breakfast on the rocking chairs on the porch or at the cafe table in our room. The Inn is beautiful so I?m sure you can?t go wrong with any of the rooms. \r \r We loved our stay at the Avenue Inn and will definitely return next time we're in New Orleans. Thanks Joe and Bebe! more

I had a lovely stay with my boyfriends and his family on January 21, 2015. I am originally from New Orleans, so I love the authentic feel of being home I got at Avenue Inn. We were greeted with warm hot cookies, that melted in your mouth! My boyfriend is unfortunately allergic to chocolate, but no worries within seconds, he was brought a cinnamon pastry to die for. We all felt like the staff and owners went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! This home is lovely. more

My wife and I stayed for an extra-long weekend at the Avenue Inn recently for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The stay was absolutely fantastic! Joe was very welcoming on our arrival. He gave us lots of great information that made our visit to New Orleans so much more special. It really felt like we were staying with family or friends.\r \r We took advantage of the ample and safe free parking and used the streetcar that runs right outside the door for our daily, and evening, outings. The abundant and wonderfully fresh continental breakfast was perfect and allowed us a chance to eat even though we had a packed schedule every day. The quick snacks available during the day were spot on! \r \r We had a very nice room on the third floor. Of course the walk up to the third floor was a bit of a hike, but not a problem. The entire staff was very nice and we are already trying to figure out when we can return. more

A very warm and welcoming B&B, Joe and Bebe are very gracious host and make you feel right at home. Thanks for the warm cookies Bebe! This lovely mansion is in the garden district so close to everything. Streetcar stop is out front, very convient. Rooms are large, comfortable and clean. Breakfast is continental with a variety of items, so much to choose from. Sitting with other guest at large table for breakfast is enjoyable. Would recommend the Avenue Inn B&B highly. more

This was an absolutely ideal location and Joe and Bebe make it feel like home. It is so very comfortable and peaceful and just a short street car ride to most of the places we wished to visit. We ate breakfast each morning on the front porch and enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere of St. Charles Ave. Joe was a great host and gave us first rate advice on the tourist scenes and restaurants and how to best enjoy the WWII Museum.\r I recommend the Avenue Inn to anyone wishing to see and experience New Orleans. more

We stood at the Avenue Inn during a trip to New Orleans for our anniversary. The proprietors, Bebe and Joe, helped make our visit to the city all that we dreamed it would be.\r \r Located in the less hectic Garden District, the home is gorgeous both inside and out. Beautifully furnished, it is comfortable and super clean - the only place I've ever been where I've felt as at ease as if staying with family or close friends.\r \r Bebe and Joe are awesome hosts! Their knowledge of New Orleans is unparalleled. They can answer questions, make recommendations and arrangements, or just chat with you about all that the city has to offer, both the typical and the offbeat.\r \r There is plenty to do and see within walking distance of the inn. With a streetcar stop right in front of the house, you can get anywhere else in the city with ease - it's just a short ride to the French Quarter, museums, and shopping. Transit passes cost only $3/day, are purchased on the streetcar, and are good for all streetcars and buses that operate 24 hours a day. It gets no more convenient than that!\r \r The neighborhood is quiet and safe. We slept peacefully each night in our air-conditioned room (individual thermostats!) with no noise intruding from outside (old houses are built well!). Evening walks are beautiful and relaxing, allowing you to see an abundance of fine architecture in the area. Or, you can sit on the front porch or patio and just watch the world go by.\r \r Breakfast each morning on the patio is a great way to start the day. The coffee is great and always fresh. The pastries are the best I've had, this side of Paris (France, not Texas). Words cannot describe them. New Orleans food is amazing! Everywhere we ate was fantastic and there are great places to dine right near the inn.\r \r We drove to New Orleans and there is private, off-street parking behind the house. No worries about where to put your car or whether it will be secure. The complementary bottled water and snacks were also most appreciated at the end of a long day.\r \r Thank you, Bebe and Joe, for sharing your home with us! We look forward to our next trip to New Orleans and certainly know where we'll be staying! more

This is a wonderful B&B with incredible service from Joe & Bebe and their lovely staff. Rooms are beautiful and relaxing with lovely artwork and antiques. Free parking at the back adds to the 'chill-out factor' - you can leave the driving and take advantage of the streetcar which stops outside and drops you downtown for $1.25 (or $3.00 for a day ticket for the whole network). Or you can stay local and eat 5 minute's walk away at 'Superior Seafood' - a heavenly gastronomic experience. Continental breakfast here at 'Avenue Inn B&B' is abundant and tasty with loads of fresh options and an 'all day snack tower' to add to the excellent service. Take in the trips too - City Tour, Natchez Steamboat and the wonderful 'Cajun Experience' swamp tour. This was our first trip to America - we travelled from Detroit via Chicago and The Great River Road - an experience of a lifetime and our 5 day stay in New Orleans concluded our trip fabulously. We would love to visit again and if we do, it will be another stay at Avenue Inn for us! more

Absolutely amazing!!! Everything and so much more than expected! The Inn and property were very charming and inviting. My wife and I stayed in room one, which opens to the beautiful front porch. The room was elegant and impressive, yet very comfortable! We had everything we needed to make for a wonderful stay. It was like a home away from home…but better! We actually had our wedding ceremony there. The innkeepers (Joe and BB) were exceptional and always made sure we had all that we needed. They even made recommendations of restaurants and local attractions that made for a much more pleasurable stay. Each day, our free breakfast consisted of an assortment of the best local bagels, pastries, breads, coffee cakes, fruits, homemade jams and jellies, fresh juice and coffee, and many other things. Nedra, the housekeeper, was delightful to converse with in the morning. She made sure we always had what we needed at breakfast and that our room was clean and stocked with anything we needed. There was always a huge selection of snacks and such available to us at anytime for no cost. After touring the entire area, we learned that this was the ideal location to stay in New Orleans. It is very clean, safe, and in walking distance to many wonderful restaurants and shoppes. There is also a street car stop directly across from the Inn, which makes for easy transportation to more distant destinations of the city. Don't worry about noise or distractions from within your room though. It is extremely quiet and private. Overall, it was a great experience! Whether we decide to have a renewal of vows, or simply escape for the weekend, we hope to stay at the Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast when we return to New Orleans! \r -Jonathan and Bianca Hannah more

There is nothing like Avenue Inn, just like there is nothing like New Orleans. For our family, we can't do one without the other. Our most recent visit during JazzFest in early May reminded us why we don't even bother looking for another place to stay. Where else can you have a charming room, on an historic street, with guests who are strangers who within the friendly atmosphere start talking like longtime friends. Proprietors like Bibi and Joe make sure every need is taken care of and have an answer to any question. We've been coming to New Orleans since 2006 when our youngest first attended Tulane -- he never left New Orleans. How lucky are we that Avenue Inn has become our home-away-from-home when we visit. If there ever was a 5-star inn, Avenue Inn is it. more

Avenue Inn Bed & Breakfast is the perfect place to stay in New Orleans. Quite, cozy, convenient, clean, comfortable in a lovely neighborhood that's steeped in history. Joe, Bebe, and Nedra are all very knowledgeable about the city and had many recommendations for restaurants and tours. We could tell that Joe put a lot of thought into the things he told us about the place including but not limited to the room and front door keys, how to get in and out successfully, breakfast time and that you are encouraged to enjoy it in the garden. Right out the front door availability of taxi's, trolley, bus line and Joe knows the cost to ride all of these. Public transportation is a real plus for this location because we were able to get to The French Quarter, Loyola University, the riverfront and Canal Street lines all at the curb (Joe gave us a handy map to keep). Even the drug stores are a short few blocks away for purchase of all those things you can't take on the plane anymore. We highly recommend this beautiful home as the best place to sleep in New Orleans. more
