Great food, great space 5/7/2010

Audubon Circle is a great place to grab a bite and a beer before heading over to catch a Sox game at Fenway or a concert on Lansdowne. It's just out of the way enough that the pre-game scene is mostly local and it doesn't get as crowded as the bars that are steps from the park or in Kenmore. When the weather is nice (baseball season) they open a great space in the back of the restaurant where you can sip one of the many beers on tap and enjoy the sun. The menu is brief but well executed. The burgers and sandwiches that I've tried have never disappointed. The ketchup is homemade, which is usually a good sign in restaurants. They have many beers on tap (and keep a good rotation) and a substantial mixed drink list. The restaurant can get crowded, but the bartenders are great, and you'll have no problem getting your hands on a drink while you wait for a table. Just be sure to give yourself about 15 minutes to get to your seats in Fenway in time for the first pitch. Pros: many beers, burgers, outdoor seating more

Crazy point table 4/3/2010

I've been here twice now. Once with three others, and once in a large group of about 12. Both times the food was great. The drink selection is good too. They offer a few beers that I haven't seen anywhere else. My only issue with this place is that both times I've gone, the waitstaff seems to be overwhelmed and very short with my group. I love to eat out, am a generous tipper, and am by no means a picky eater. Not sure if it was just the day or the person, but at a small place with a cool atmosphere I expected people to be a bit more friendly. I'll definitely go back, if nothing else for the food (the hangar steak is YUMMY). And still have to try the outdoor patio! Pros: modern decor, outdoor patio, good food, easy parking Cons: small(ish), can get crowded with the after work crowd more

Great Food! Impeccable Service 5/21/2009

I stumbled across Audobon on a whim one afternoon about 2 years ago. We were looking for a late lunch and a drink or two before checking in to our hotel. Our waitress was Rabit (or atleast thats what it said on the slip) she was absolutely the most attentive and friendly waitress I have ever had. She made terrific suggestions and made our overall experience terrific. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Boston. Last time i was in Rabit was still there! The food is also very good. Everytime I come back to the city I come in for a meal. Pros: The Waitress was the best! more

I went to this restaurant/ bar a couple weeks ago. Fantastic service, extremely friendly waitress, and the best schnitzel I have had outside of Germany. I plan on going back with my girlfriend ASAP. more

NONEXISTENT Service, Absentee Management-Don't Bother :( 5/6/2008

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. Seriously, I can't even believe Audobon has so many comments about the ""excellent service."" My boyfriend and I sat down at a table on a fairly quiet Tuesday night (there is no hostess...you just sit and wait for a server.) We waited for 15 minutes as we watched the servers daydreaming in the back. We waited patiently while no one came over to take care of us, and then a table of 2 guys came in and sat down. There was a server at their table within 3 minutes. My boyfriend asked for a manager...there was not one one site. The server he spoke to was not apologetic and really could not have cared less. So, it's a bunch of ignorant college kids running this establishment?! My boyfriend and I were SO disgusted.....we left. In my opinion, the service is HORRENDOUS, so who cares about the food? We walked over to Eastern Standard where we were treated very well and had an awesome salad and burger! We will never go back to Audobon (and it's a 5 minute walk from our home.) DON'T EVEN BOTHER WALKING INTO AUDOBON!! more

It's a bar but I only go for the food 2/2/2008

This place has quickly won me over. I've been there several times now and I never get sick of their grilled chicken with greens, lemon cilantro dressing with cranberries and sugar-coated pumpkin seeds. Yummy! Service is always good and you can't complain about a place that offers such good food, decent service, and afforadable prices. I don't drink so I only go there purely for the food, and yes, it's just that good when you think about how they manage to pull everything together so well. Pros: Value, proportions, service, atmosphere (another pro: they take reservations at lunch!) Cons: metered street parking more

Great bean burger 10/21/2007

Love this place! Service, location, and menu. The only thing to stay away from is the chili. Not really a chili, is more of a mix of random ingredients. It is a great place, very cozy; and a good alternative from all the nonsense during Red Sox games. more

A great local bar and restaurant 2/1/2007

This is one of my favorite bars! The atmosphere is great... soft lighting, modern sleek design, and there is even an outdoor seating area in warm months. Televisions are inobtrusively hung above the bar for those who want to keep up with sports and there is a decent selection of beer. The menue is small, but varied. The food is consistantly wonderful! Favorites include the potstickers, the white bean paste, and any sandwhich on the menue. Great for dinner and drinks out with friends or a dinner date. Pros: pretty much everything Cons: can get a little busy on certain nights more

Boston Wannabe 1/4/2004

This place is simply well-managed. I have been here on 5 or 6 occasions and the old-fashioned service (as well as a quality product) just keeps me coming back. Anyone can serve a cold beer and great meal (or snack), but few do it while catering so completely to the customer. In this day and age, this place simply does not fit with the fast paced, SELF oriented style of modern business style. Pros: management, service, product more

My favorite burger! 12/28/2003

One of the places that will always be on my ""favorite restaurants in Boston"" list, Audubon has never failed to please. With consistently good food (though I'll admit that I almost always have their tasty burger) and great drinks, it's a must-visit for anyone looking for a great value. Pros: best burger in town, pleasant waitstaff, efficient bartenders Cons: sometimes crowded more

On the top 3/12/2003

Service and atmosphere alone would make this a common target for fun. The food and drinks put it over the top and make it one of the best kept secrets of beantown. Try the dumplings or Boston's Best Burger. Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere Cons: price more

Your ruining a good thing. 10/16/2002

I love the bar scene and the food, the only two complaints I have are the music and the smoking. I think you can take care of the smoking by changing the Music. Stop playing Techno ! Its attracting too many Euros. Pros: Food, Bar, people Cons: Music, Too Smokey more

Classy comfort 8/26/2002

Great looking NewYork feel and comfortable. (Hey I didn't say I liked the Yankees). The Burger here is done to perfection and with a great selection of Cheese toppings with the great toasted bun. The roasted potatoes with spicy ketsup is an extraordinere accompaniment. Try any of the appetizers, they are mouthwatering. Pros: Affordable, Great food, Attractive Cons: Crowded during ballga more

Fantastic Bar Food! 8/14/2002

Audubon Circle has some of the best bar food in town. Everything on the menu is fantastic. You can't go wrong with this place. more

Great Food At A Great Price 8/12/2002

Without question our favorite restaurant in Boston to take visiting friends, a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere and an affordable, unpretentious menu. Even with a crowd, it is well worth the wait. Pros: Inexpensive, Variety, Fresh Meat & Seafood Cons: Noisy, Sometimes Crowded more

Hidden Gem 7/21/2002

Great Value and ambiance for a neighboorhood bar thats cheap by Boston's Standards. A very stylish looking place, with great downtempo always playing, and an atmosphere reminiscent of a NYC lounge has the added bonus of one of the best bar menus anywhere (rivavling even my other fav- the Deluxe). Audobon's potstickers put anything offered in chinatown to absolute shame!!! Sandwiches and burgers are top notch, the ribeye is obscenely good for the price, and the often changing pork entrees are always to die for. Also refreshing are the attentive bartenders, the large glass pitchers of beers. All in all a great date place as well.... more

Vegetarian options 5/14/2002

Try the three-bean burger, a great vegetarian option. Salads and quesadillas are excellent for non-meat eaters, too. It tends to get crowded and a bit smoky after 9pm. A great date spot. more
