At least one assessor at ABH has demonstrated a shocking lack of integrity, which leaves the integrity of their other counselors in doubt. Brian Waterman lied to and about at least one client out of a misguided notion of his role in substance abuse treatment, refused to consider information that belied his claims, and forced this client into treatment that was neither necessary nor appropriate at their own expense. A year later, the client has nearly resolved the resulting financial and logistical issues. However, the emotional repercussions caused by Mr. Waterman's inappropriate paternalism will take far longer to overcome.
Clearly Mr. Waterman possesses neither the educational background nor the experience (or even the willingness to do simple research) to prevent him from doing harm rather than good. It is incomprehensible that he is allowed to continue practicing in this field, and at this agency, which is aware of his behavior, with apparently no accountability for his actions.
