Poor Craftsmanship 6/19/2010

I was not happy with the quality of the work or service at Aspen Eyewear. I had two sets of prescription glasses made there and the lenses are now popping out of both because they clearly were not cut to fit the shape of the frames. The lenses are curved and the frames are straight. When I tried to take them back, Aspen Eyewear did not accept them and suggested I left them in the sun and that warped the lenses. I have never left them in the sun and that is a ridiculous assertion. I could see frames warping, but lenses?!? more

There is a reason Aspen Eyewear is voted BEST OF BOULDER every year. They have honest and helpful staff, beyond reasonable prices, and a large selection of frames. I have been a customer of Aspen Eyewear for over 20 years and would never go anywhere else. more

Pricey frames, Ok service 5/1/2010

I went yesterday to look at frames and found them very pricey here, though a good selection. However, the customer care person was a bit rude too. I was greeted when I first came in, but when I said I needed a minute to look around, the woman disappeared into the back room. After a few minutes I headed back there to get her attention, but she ignored me for 5 minutes while she chatted away with someone else. Finally she came out.\r \r I told her I wanted spring back styled temples in a new frame, and new lenses in my old pair too. She was actually very helpful once we got going, but when I asked about pricing I was surprised how expensive they were. She asked about insurance and I told I didn't have any. Then I asked if they had any discounts and she said she'd knock off 10%. \r \r After some thought, I decided to keep shopping around. more

DO NOT GO TO ASPEN EYEWEAR 2/2/2010

I have purchased prescription glasses from Aspen Eyewear numerous times over the past decades. However, recently, I visited the store and asked that they order a frame for me to examine and to make note of the one frame they had in stock. They did order the frame as I requested AND MADE UP TWO PAIRS OF EYEGLASSES WITHOUT MY HAVING GIVEN THEM A PRESCRIPTION!! I went to the store a few months later to look at frames and they expected me to pay for the glasses they had made up for me without my having ordered them. I DID select 2 frames that I liked and had them prepare the glasses for me, but instead of acknowledging that we had arrived at a happy compromise for their business, they left me feeling dirty for not having paid for the 2 pairs of glasses I NEVER ORDERED! I will not return to Aspen Eyewear and plan to warn everyone I know in Boulder--and with a 34 year residency the numbers are considerable--DON'T GO TO ASPEN EYEWEAR... more

Aspen Eyewear Boulder, CO= Arrogant and Rude Staff 12/14/2009

Avoid Aspen Eyeware, unless you like abuse! - The staff is arrogant, careless and don't know you are exist.They don't keep records of your purchases or care to know what you need or to help. My eye glass experience was quite traumatic actually. Very arrogant, ignorant and lazy attendants including the manager. Try College Optics or a little eye shop by the Bread works on Broadway - Nice frame selection and great service. more

Aspen Eyewear is an abomination 11/20/2008

My experience at Aspen Eyewear has been tremendously dispiriting. The prescription eyeglasses that I ordered were badly scratched. The clerk re-processed my order, and a week later called to say the glasses were ready. When I went in to pick them up, I noticed that they were again scratched. This process repeated four times! Each time I went to pick up the glasses, there were scratches. The staff was unapologetic; the manager, who I asked to see, was downright belligerent. I urge all potential customers to avoid this optical shop --at all costs. more

Expectations Exceeded 6/16/2005

Just today I went to Aspen Eye-wear to have my prescription from Missouri faxed to Boulder to buy new frames and lenses. Within a half-hour, I had everything taken care of! These people are amazing. more
