Best Coutertop Fabrication 1/12/2008

When I was remodeling my and my parent?s kitchen I spent countless hours researching a shop that would do a quality job at a reasonable price. I met with and had bids from 10 different fabricators around the valley and I ended up with Chris Spaur at Arizona Creative Countertops. His Prices are moderate to excellent. Although not the cheapest he will give you an excellent finished product for the price. Both countertops were 3cm. All other fabricators wanted to use 2 pieces and seam the granite. Chris and his guys were able to make both my and my parents countertops out of one slab each....NO SEAMS on the main top! My countertop took 6 men to put in and weighed 700 lbs. If you want some special design detail Chris can handle it for you. I highly recommend Arizona Creative Countertops. Here are some tips for avoiding pitfalls: 1) Use a registered, ROC, bonded, insured contractor. Check his rating with the AZ ROC. There are a lot of bad contractors out there. They are all smiles until they have your deposit. If you have buyers remorse you have a grace period for a full refund before work starts. Check for local laws. 2) Just because a contractor is cheap does not make him good. Make sure you see samples of his work. Pay attention to the seams and how he matches his stone on laminated edges. 3) Beware of contractors who try and raise their prices after the deal is made. Know how much it will cost for sink cutouts and extra holes for faucets and soap dispensers. Remember fancy edges cost $$ and are billed in linear feet. Once you sign the work order that is the price you pay unless you want to add something and you both sign an addendum. 4) If a contractor offers you a sink as a signing bonus, check out it's quality. Sometimes you may want a better sink or something a little fancier. If that is the case work out a deal for possibly a little $$ off the price of fabricating for supplying your own sink.
