My family and I moved into the Arbors of Brentwood February of 2010. We were very excited because we thought we were moving into a great complex…but we have had nothing but problems since moving in.
We were told that we were getting an “upgraded” 2 bedroom apartment. Updated paint, countertops and appliances…the issue is that the only thing we got, along with an “upgraded” price, was a dishwasher that didn’t work that took them 2 months to replace, a stove that had burners that heated to high all the time, and a refrigerator that made about 12 ice cubes a day…oh, and lets not forget the ants…everywhere in our master bath, our master closet all over our clothes, and our son’s room, I even found them in our bed one night while watching TV with my husband. That issue took over two months to resolve and I still have to squish one or two ants a day in our bathroom…now we can move to the leak in the ceiling above the fireplace and the sliding glass door that they were supposed to replace because the handle fell off in my husbands’ hand when he was trying to lock up for the evening one night…the sliding glass door still doesn’t lock, and we have mentioned it a couple of times to management. THEY TELL US THAT THE DOOR IS ON ORDER…BS!
So you would think that after all that we have had to deal with in our “upgraded” apartment that management would give us a bit of a break on late fees for the month of April, IN THE NAME OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, when our tax refund check didn’t come when we expected. We even had the federal government fax over a letter stating the date when our check would be cut and mailed, but management didn’t seem to care…they said we would have to pay the late fees anyway. The amazing thing was that even after we told them that we would have our money the third week in April, and even after the IRS faxed them that letter, we still received 4 eviction notices on our front door during the three weeks that we were waiting for our check…
We received our check exactly when the IRS said we would, and we knew that we were not allowed to write a PERSONAL check for our rent because that is what it said on the 4 eviction letters we received from Cindy, so we went and got two money orders…one for April rent and one for May rent…both for the same amount, minus the late fees for the month of April…because I honestly feel that we deserve a discount for all of the BS we have had to go through and are still going through…WELL, CINDY DIDN’T THINK SO! SHE CALLED ME FIRST THING THIS MORNING AND SAID THAT THEY ARE GOING TO NEED THAT EXTRA $103.00 OR THEY WILL START THE EVICTION PROCESS...EVEN THOUGH WE PAID FOR APRIL AND MAY!!!!!
SO THEY WILL GET THEIR $103.00, BUT IT WILL COME AT A PRICE, AND I HOPE THAT PRICE IS ALL OF YOU OUT THERE WHO ARE LOOKING FOR A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE…THAT GREAT PLACE IS NOT THE ARBORS OF BRENTWOOD!
OH, THE CLUB HOUSE WAS COMPLETELY FLOODED THE OTHER DAY AND IT TOOK MANAGEMENT/MAINTENANCE A COUPLE OF DAYS TO EVEN NOTICE…SHOWS YOU HOW OFTEN THEY CLEAN THE CLUB HOUSE BATHROOMS AND WORK OUT EQUIPMENT…WHAT KINDA MOLD DO YOU GET WITH SOILED CARPET? THEY SHOULD PROBABLY REPLACE THAT…DON’T WANT RESIDENTS GETTING SICK WHILE WORKING OUT…but management doesn't seem to care about their residents...
WE ARE STUCK HERE FOR A YEAR…DON’T GET STUCK TOO!!!!
