I had the appliance doctor out to fix my dryer this past April..the thermal fuse kit needed to be replaced..after they charged me 180.00,I looked on the Internet and found they charged me triple for this part. He had to come back out the next day,as whatever he did to dryer,it caused a horrible squeaking noise..He said I had a year long warranty..when my dryer died last week,another company came out and said the thermal fuse kit was gone..I called appliance doctor and he refused to stand behind the yr warranty unless he did the work himself..this guy is horrible..don't ever use him. more

The worst service experience I have ever had! I called them to fix my washer and they showed up the next day to look at the problem. They needed to order the part which I had to pay for up front and they came back 4 days later to install it. They showed up and installed the new part. After technician left I started the washer and it was leaking worse than before they serviced it. I called them back to notify them there still was a problem they said they wouldn't be able to come back to fix it for another week after I paid them for the parts and service. When I questioned them why would it take so long to come back they hung up the phone on me. I called them back and got no answer. These people are not professional at all and I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. This review was removed from Superpages along with other multiple negative reviews. more

Rude and dishonest 10/9/2011

NEVER use this service because you don't know who you are going to end up dealing with. We had a positive first experience with this company so we called again. He didn't show on the scheduled day and time but claimed that he did and "no one was home" (this was not true). Rescheduled the day and time and he arrived a half hour late. Fine. Due to the changes my husband wasn't home and I was dealing with him alone. After his "diagnosis" I decided that we would be buying a new appliance rather than replacing a part. He then proceeded to do something I didn't ask him to do and asked me for $99. I see now on the website that they charge a flat rate for service, but doesn't it make sense to inform someone that the 30 second service you want to perform costs $99? When I questioned him on this, he became quickly frustrated. He started talking about how he had done a "favor" (I had no idea we were so close appliance doctor) and asked why I was treating him so poorly. Honestly, this confused me and I never want to treat someone badly or cheat someone out of money. I asked if he could send a bill for my husband to review. He said "We don't bill." When he tried to barter with me ("can you just throw me $80?") I knew he was trying to rip me off. I don't want to think he was doing this because I was female, but I have a hard time imagining this conversation happening with my husband. When he realized I wasn't giving in, he proceeded to undo his "service" and storm out of my house like a diva. He then left my husband an f-word laden voice message to never call again. Noooo problem guy, good luck with your business. more

I would not recommend this loser to my worst enemy. Washer problem 10-17-10 appliance dr came out said couldn't fix but he had one in his truck bought it for $250 we had to screw it down to keep it from walking across floor. Stopped working in 8 months when he came back it was the transmission I paid another $180 asked him to fix the transmission but said had to order parts for the walking problem and would be back I called and called this rude nasty person and finally went to Mass Appliance and bought the parts myself in stock over the counter. Called him 4 times to install haven't heard from him. After $380.00 in 8 months I still have a machine that walks across the floor and can be heard next door. He didn't even put the top back on correctly he was in such a rush but took my money quick enough more

PRESSURED!! MESSY!!! 8/18/2011

Absolute biggest mistake!!! VERY unprofessional, came in on phone and stayed on the phone for the majority of the time. Once the problem was diagnosed, I said that it just wasnt in the budget right now and he bluntly said "oh my god, i wish you told me on the phone" so much for your free estimate statement. felt pressured to fix right then and there on the spot. Also left behind a mess, usually, professional tradesmen clean up after themselves, not this one, was probablly to busy talking to realize. Unless your willing to get problem fixed right then and there and look forward to cleaning up after a grown man, dont bother more

Great, fast service 7/18/2011

Fridge was very warm. Called at 9 AM on a Monday morning, they were here by noon and out the door by 12:20 PM. Diagnosed the problem quickly, had the parts on hand, explained what needed to be replaced, did the repair and were on their way. I was also impressed with the repairman's knowledge. His phone was ringing off the hook and he managed to diagnose problems and give repair or replace advice over the phone and set appointments while working on my refrigerator. These guys are busy, efficient, and good. I will call them again the next time I need a repair - my time is valuable and I don't have time or patience for someone who takes a leisurely approach to diagnostics or repair and hangs out all day. more

Honest Man 5/16/2011

We called Mark Sunday he arrived on Monday, we were prepared to get a new over the counter microwave [$600.00] the two fan switches only needed an adjustment to push the springs back in place,but you had to have technical knowledge we were told by others it was a $200 circuit board. Mark charged $79.00 more

Won't Call Them Again 5/7/2011

I called this company because the ad said "no service call charge, free estimate". The serviceman was close by and came within the half hour. He went right to work, dumped my wet clothes on the floor, knocked around and said my dryer needed tuning up. Did not say how much it would cost but at the end said I owed $180. My complaint is that he did not give me the price ($180 seems steep for a dryer tune up) prior to going to work. He also replaced the new alum. piping which he managed to dent during the knocking/bumping around. He also took it upon himself to put company sticker inside my fridge (which I promptly removed). Next time, I'll pay to have a service call repair estimate. Then I will decide whether or not my appliance is worth fixing or not. more

Satisfied with service 12/23/2010

Last night in the middle of our Christmas Dinner preparations our Stove stopped working. After calling several places Appliance Doctor was the first service provider available to come out ASAP. They made an appointment to be here between 4&6 pm, and as promised were here at 5:15. The tech may have lacked a little bit of refined bedside manner, but I wouldn't have called him rude, just "Get Down to Business." He didn't waste time making small talk but he was in and out with the problem diagnosed and solved in 15 minutes... a blown ignition for our Gas Range. He had the part in his truck. Flat rate of $150 for labor parts and the whole shebang. I'm satisfied and would use this service again. more

SAVED THE DAY!! 10/29/2010

Woke up to no power in refrigerator. Called Appliance Doctor on a Sunday morning and they were there within 2 hours. Thank goodness they had the parts in their truck and my refrigerator was up and running....even managed to save all frozen food!!! Thanks guys! more

BAD SERVICE 8/25/2010

i was appalled by the rudeness and unprofessional-ism of this company. the technician came to work on my appliance and spent about 25 minutes diagnosing it. he seemed like he was rushing to go somewhere. his phone kept ringing and when he answered it i overheard the owner cursing at him b/c he was at my location too long. it seems like all this place cares about is the number of calls they can get to in a day and not the quality of the work they do. long story short they couldn't fix my issue so I'm looking elsewhere. more
